Sorry I didn't get back to you earlier, my weekend turned out to be exceptionally busy.
Good catch on the copyvios. With so much information published on both men, it should be fairly easy to build well-written and verifiable articles that don't include copied texts. As you've seen, railroad history is my favorite topic to research and enhance here. I've got a few references in my personal library that can be used for information; I'll try to pop in and contribute on these two articles in the next couple weeks. Most days I only have enough time to update Portal:Trains, but I try to help out with more thorough contributions as much as possible. I also have a couple of other projects that would be considered too close to original research for WP that I'm working on for my personal website, The Rip Track.
