Comparison_of_Internet_forum_software_(ASP)

Hi Jim,

Sorry I missed the edit part on the page below:-

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Comparison_of_Internet_forum_software_(ASP)

I removed betamakers community forum as it is a pirate version of my Web Wiz Forums software. The person behind it believes there is no copyright law in India and therefore believes he is allowed to pirate the software.

Could you also tell me how to remove the link to his website from the references section?

— Preceding unsigned comment added by 80.7.192.165 (talkcontribs)

There are two other tables with "Community Application" in them. One of the entries has the reference. Sorry for reverting you, did not understand your intent. (Hopefully you are not deleting your competition!) Cheers Jim1138 (talk) 09:36, 23 January 2013 (UTC)

Hi Jim,

Quite happy with competition but not when they steel thousands of hours of work and pass it off as their own. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 80.7.192.165 (talk) 09:47, 23 January 2013 (UTC)

Christian Muenzners focal dystonia

I added Christian Muenzner (Obscura, Necrophagist) to a list of notable musicians with focal dystonia. heres my source, he says it himself in this video on his channel, scroll down a bit on the comments. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UQEofFH5Ncw

"shredguitarchris 1 month ago I suffer from a neurologic disorder that affects my fretting hand due to a re-mapping of neural pathways which leads to misfiring neurons in the brain. This affects my fretting hand which is why my 2nd finger curls back and is almost unusable. 1 2 combinations on the left hand do not work anymore. The disorder is called Focal Dystonia, you can look it up. It does not affect my life outside of guitar playing though. I have it since about 4 years." — Preceding unsigned comment added by 64.237.201.239 (talk) 17:57, 23 January 2013 (UTC)

That should be good enough. Normally, social media is not considered a reliable source. Would you replace his name and add the source? Suggestion: [[Christian Muenzner]]<ref>[http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UQEofFH5Ncw YouTube: Christian Munzner interview discusses focal dystonia - 12:34]</ref> Replace the time 12:34 with the start of the discussion on focal dystonia? I notice that someone has already replaced his name. If there is a reference on Christian Muenzner's page, there would be no reason to add it again. It should be somewhere per wikipedia:verifiablity. If you would, please add the reference somewhere? Thanks for the note. Cheers Jim1138 (talk) 20:36, 23 January 2013 (UTC)

My reply to your messages

Thanks for your messages, Jim. I signed my talk page and filled in the edit summary. Talk pages don't have the same rules as the encyclopedia section, do they? As I understand it; they're a place for informal, but polite, discussion. By the way, I think Wikipedia is a reliable source. Sure, anybody can post anything. But their post will quickly be deleted if it's in any way inappropriate. A person only has to check a page several times over a period of months and they can be certain they're getting reliable information.

Reply to your message

Hi Jim. I made that edit to the Second Crusade article because I thought it made more sense. Since "Saracens" is used for the Muslims, which was what the Europeans called the Muslims, I thought "Franks" would make sense for the Christians since that is what the Muslims called them. Hope for a reply. 70.187.179.139 (talk) 04:37, 24 January 2013 (UTC)

Policy, I believe, is to use the most common name. See WP:COMMONNAME regarding article titles. I would suspect that "Crusaders" and more common than "Franks". I personally understand Franks as Germanic tribes, not Crusaders. And Franks article is about Germanic tribes. Franks (disambiguation), the first link is to French people So, it would seem that the "common name" is "Crusaders", and not "Franks" Cheers Jim1138 (talk) 05:04, 24 January 2013 (UTC)
And the first link on Franks (disambiguation) says: "French people (or Crusaders in general) in the context of medieval Middle Eastern history" And the Article Franks says: "In the Middle Ages the term Frank was used in the East as a synonym for western European, as the Franks were then rulers of most of western Europe." But I understand what you mean about the policy, so forget about that stuff. But going with the same train of thought, wouldn't it be more appropriate then to write "Muslims" rather than "Saracens"? Isn't "Muslim" more common then "Saracen"? 70.187.179.139 (talk) 06:35, 24 January 2013 (UTC)

Redirecting

Why does the page Born to Explore with Richard Wiese redirect to Litton's Weekend Adventure? They are separate pages and this should not happen. Also, Born to Explore with Richard Wiese is listed as an orphan, however it is referenced in Litton's Weekend Adventure, Richard Wiese, and ABC. Thoughts? — Preceding unsigned comment added by Kevinoconn (talkcontribs) 05:52, 24 January 2013 (UTC)

Hi Jim

Thanks for the post but I couldn't find any reference to why the deletion notice was put there. Also, as far as I can work out, someone deleted the contents of the Talk page. I suspect this is someone wanting the page deleted for no good reason hence removing the notice. (Ukspacecadets (talk) 08:11, 24 January 2013 (UTC))

Hey - about swiss guard (i forgot to sign in previously)

hey, well, just letting you know about those swiss guardes.

from: http://www.vatican.va/roman_curia/swiss_guard/swissguard/storia_en.htm about: the Reputation of the swiss

" When, at the end of the 15th century, with Charles VIII the Italian Wars began, the Swiss were described by the Italian historian, Guicciardini, as "the nerve and the hope of an army". In 1495 the life of the King of France was saved thanks to the immovable firmness of his Swiss foot-soldiers. The foreign service of the Confederates was better regulated under the 1521 alliance between France and the Cantons. With it the Swiss agreed to provide from six to sixteen thousand men for the King and in return the Cantons would benefit from the protection of the most powerful European prince. They became permanent allies and auxiliaries, but the Cantons were still the true sovereigns of the troops and reserved to themselves the right to withdraw them. These armed corps were completely independent, with their own regulations, their own judges and their own flags. The orders were given in their own language, German, by Swiss officers and they remained under the law of their Cantons: in short, the regiment was their fatherland and all these customs were confirmed in similar agreements made in later years."

and from howstuffworks: "The first was the Swiss Guard, whose soldiers became so skilled with close-combat weapons, especially the spearlike pike, that warlords all over Europe began recruiting them for battle."

about swiss being "better" (for a lack of a better word/description in relevance to the topic)

i place in "a certain aspect" since the swiss were still - even after the widespread use of the arquebus (by general infantry and the Landsknechte) - regarded as 'the best' when it game to pikes. however, the different style of the Landsknechte allowed them to incorporate the arquebus and other firearms much easier - thus making them less vulnerable to fire arms - but still, in hand to hand, it was commonly accepted the swiss where better - that is because they general formation allowed to be more deadly in hand to hand (aswell as their use of the halberd (spelling?), as the Landsknechte, which had some arquebus armed soldiers, where less effective since they had those arquebus. i'm not sure if this makes sense, but i hope it does... xD

as for the " the Swiss mercenaries were still looked upon as the best available troops, and the Landsknecht a cheaper copy." it's the same story as above. (which should mention now that i have revisited it, i should have added that it is in relevance to their hand-to-hand and pike skills), perhaps: ( the Swiss mercenaries were still looked upon as the best available troops - in terms of melee -, and the Landsknecht a cheaper copy) and they where actually cheaper, then they did copy the swiss see --> http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Landsknecht

hope this is enough, i also have read books - but i cannot remember the titles right now - its 00.35 here. anyhow. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Necronox (talkcontribs) 13:37, 25 January 2013 (UTC)

Arkansas districts

Thanks for the message. Cook hasn't released his 2008/12 PVI's yet (the ones in the AR articles were all 04/08) but it's easy to use his formula to figure out what the new PVI's will be. I calculated the new ones for Arkansas and plugged them into the article. If we need to wait for Cook to do them to have the citation, that makes sense though. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 69.255.133.47 (talk) 02:58, 26 January 2013 (UTC)

Hi there ; with reference to the Stephen Poliakoff edits, I think the original formulation that was on that page conformed to N:POV pretty well. He's the only British TV dramatist to have won European and American awards over several decades such as the Prix Italia and the Emmies, and that formulation reflected descriptions of him as a preeminent dramatist by the british press pretty accurately.

Clarence Thomas / John Yoo reference

Hi.

While I'm sure that it's great that you take the time to edit random entries, the point of my edit was that an endorsement of a judge by John Yoo is a bit like using Al Capone for a good citizen citation. Professor Yoo is, as I'd noted, an alleged war criminal, indicted in at least two countries for his complicity in the torture of prisoners, and was found to have acted unprofessionally in his legal work for the Bush administration. To ignore that - all of which is in the Yoo entry - is a bit like calling Mr Capone a member of the Chicago entertainment industry. I don't know if you can restore my edits, but - and particularly if not - perhaps try thinking and/or a little humility next time.

Thanks

Sorry, I didn't mean to edit the article. Hello dear can u show anywhere in sify that as u said "Among the actors, only Mammootty & Baburaj manages to make the viewers laugh at some moments with his comments".really its like this "Among the actors, only Baburaj manages to make the viewers laugh at some moments with his comments".If u are putting the right one,y u added mammootty's name in that...?.If u r doing the things right, others will do the same.Otherwise expect the same from others.

Sify says, "Among the actors, only Baburaj manages to make the viewers laugh at some moments with his comments.

Scenarists Siby K Thomas and Udayakrishna flounders big time as they struggle to keep the attention of the viewers intact. The Konkani accent becomes mere mimicry, after a while. There is no credible storyline that is worth mentioning and the script lacks any imagination or depth. Anil Nair's visuals and M Jayachandran's music perhaps suit the mood.

Proprietors: Kammath & Kammath is the kind of comedy that will leave you with a frown on your face, by the time the end titles start rolling.

Verdict: Tedious" Just check it & edit the details as per.

And can u show Indiaglitz's 8.5/10 rating for Kammath anywhere....?????be clear first & den try to clear others.

Hope u are clear with this one. Thanks your ur great understanding...tc — Preceding unsigned comment added by 120.63.162.205 (talk) 05:17, 6 February 2013 (UTC)

kalakanda

hey mate,

here: https://el.wikipedia.org/wiki/%CE%91%CF%81%CF%87%CE%B5%CE%AF%CE%BF:Sanskrit_alphabet_el.png do you see a 'q' anywhere?

it is an indian dish created not by Muslims but by Indians.

here is the urdu alphabet: https://lh3.ggpht.com/-mQSFLW5uxOc/T1rzBaO9zCI/AAAAAAAABho/H26mxRr_Fxo/s1600/Urdu_alphabets.png

do you see the "q"?

the last part of the word is from the sanskrutam word "Khanda"-modern day candy. it is not qualakanda (implying an Arabic influence), it is Kalakanda-completely Indian. That's why i made the change. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 209.147.224.225 (talk) 05:21, 6 February 2013 (UTC)

Hello Dear,

Pls note the below article from Sify,

"Not a good start for the superstars With both Kammath & Kammath and Lokpal being criticized for its lack of content, it is perhaps the time for Mammootty and Mohanlal to take a closer look at the kind of scripts they give their nod to.

Kammath & Kammath was the first high profile film of the year, with Mammootty and Dileep playing the heroes, scripted by the hit duo Siby K Thomas and Udayakrishna and directed by Thomson, who has a hit to his credit called Karyasthan.

Lokpal had Mohanlal and Kavya Madhavan in the lead cast, script by S N Swami and direction by Joshiy.

However both the films failed to impress anyone. Rajeev Ravi's Annayum Resoolum and the Kunchacko Boban - Biju Menon starrer Romans tasted success in the first month of the year. The result is that the focus has suddenly shifted to the young crop of heroes or new experiments."

Before put something new in social sites on your view, consider the reality too.Bcz u r not only the man who are keeping records of this.If anybody goes to these sites, will get it easily. So be clear & fine in our art..Then others will be too........ — Preceding unsigned comment added by 120.63.162.205 (talk) 05:23, 6 February 2013 (UTC)

So be careful while doing like this..."Please do not add or significantly change content without citing verifiable and reliable sources, as you did with this edit to Lokpal (film). Before making any potentially controversial edits, it is recommended that you discuss them first on the article's talk page. Please review the guidelines at Wikipedia:Citing sources and take this opportunity to add references to the article". AS U SAID............take care — Preceding unsigned comment added by 120.63.162.205 (talk) 05:26, 6 February 2013 (UTC)

I know that this was not a good idea for commenting on P versus NP problem page but I need help. I really find a way for reading a hierarchical structure using a single loop but it will work very fast on huge hierarchical structure. My problem is it useful in nuclear chain reactions too and therefore, I did not publish it since 2009. It can be dangerous and because I am leaving in Iran, I cannot trust anyone for publishing this Idea. It can put any one who know this method structure in danger in my country. Now only thing is some advice because I cannot save it anymore. If you can help me please do it instead of report me as a spammer or tagging it as vandalize. Also, thanks about cookie :). I need help. I found a new way for reading a hierarchical structure using a single loop (solving P versus NP problem) but I cannot publish it over the net because it is so dangerous. It can be used for controlled nuclear chain reactions too and cause of that I cannot publish it over the net. I found this solution in 2009 but since now, I did not talk about it with anyone because I am afraid of results. I am leaving in Iran and therefore, I cannot publish it until solving problems between Iran and America. I need some advice and help. This is very important. By using my method, you can read a huge hierarchical structure very fast (It will not work very fast on small structures). I solve it using quantum mechanics laws and relativity. Many theories used in this structure like black holes, black material, dark energy etc. Cause of these problems finally I edit P versus NP problem page and I wrote that I solved this problem on 2009 but everyone delete my comment and no one helped me. I'm a system analyst but I didn’t have any academic degrees and cause of that everyone think I'm lying and no one want to hear my voice in my country cause of my education level. If you can help me please send me an email on XVirus@Outlook.com or XVirus@Wikipedia. I cannot publish my name because I cannot trust anyone and I believe that you can understand my situation. If you can help me please do this and If not please do not delete my comment on P versus NP problem page. :). I believe that it belong to the human kind and I cannot let governments use it against human civilization.

Sorry for the delay in getting back to you. I am not familiar with this area nor of publishing works. I can only suggest that you contact someone who has made significant contributions to that Wikipedia article or has published papers in that area. Best of luck! For being thoughtful and mature enough to say that you changed your mind Alpha Phi's motto after considering other people's views. If more people could do this, Wikipedia would be a more productive and more pleasant place. WhatamIdoing (talk) 22:07, 8 February 2013 (UTC)

donating more high quality media to wikipedia

Hello thanks for your help, I see that the picture I donated has shown up on the wiki article I am writing you about. I work for the company that represents Oryn the Rebel the american rapper out of Boston, it says that his article is an orphan and may not fit the music guidelines I would like to introduce articles that prove some of the musical accomplishments written about in the article http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Oryn_the_Rebel here is a link to the record "Underground heat volume one" http://www.rarehiphop.com/mixtapes_details.php?id=1 Oryn the Rebel produced this record along with Grand Master Caz http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Grandmaster_Caz featuring artist such as Freeway http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Freeway_(rapper) on number 14 and artist Shock G http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Shock_G on number 18 of the Underground heat volume one mixtape. Please note that Oryn the Rebel is also known as Oryn the rebel, O-ry-n, O-ry-n the rebel, and oryntherebel his other records can be found at the following links http://soundcloud.com/oryn http://www.last.fm/music/oryn+the+rebel http://www.datpiff.com/Oryn-the-rebel-The-Best-Of-A-Rebel-mixtape.361533.html https://itunes.apple.com/dk/artist/oryn-the-rebel/id473529967

please let me know if this is sufficient to prove the musical accomplishments of Oryn the Rebel and have the article removed from orphan status and or have it meet the musical guidelines of Wikipedia thank you for your help Unsignedart (talk) 01:48, 12 February 2013 (UTC)
