Deletes if you wish[edit]

You can put an {{subst:afd}} <--without the spaces on the pages you think are copyrighted from you. They will subsequently be voted on for deletion.

Jewish lists[edit]

I am doubtful that lists of facts can be copyrighted, please explain why you think they can be and provide appropriate legal documentation. Arniep 22:26, 25 November 2005 (UTC)[reply]

Re: "Wikipedia: Copyright problems/2005 December 13" Question[edit]

That note means that I moved the discussion from the section for that date to the section called Other on the Copyright The discussion can continue there, or if someone with a clearer understanding of how copyright applies in that situation may come along and make a decision about it. Since I wasn't certain myself, I took no action. Hope that helps. .:.Jareth.:. babelfish 22:16, 1 January 2006 (UTC)[reply]

List of Jewish ___s[edit]

Greetings. I'm very interested in the debate at Wikipedia:Copyright problems/Other/List of Jewish scientists and philosophers. Thanks for sticking with this - your willingness to compromise is admirable, and you are certainly not being unreasonable. I just want to say that Michael Snow doesn't represent Wikipedia any more than you or I do, and that eventually we will work this out. Thanks, – Quadell (talk) (bounties) 16:53, 7 February 2006 (UTC)[reply]

I have made a proposed solution at Wikipedia:Copyright problems/Other/List of Jewish scientists and philosophers. Could you let me know what you think? Thanks, – Quadell (talk) (bounties) 13:41, 10 February 2006 (UTC)[reply]

I have now fixed up List of Jewish scientists and philosophers and List of Jewish recipients of the National Medal of Science according to our conversations. They both link prominently to your site, and specify that your lists are copyrighted and are more comprehensive. If there's anything else I can do, let me know. – Quadell (talk) (bounties) 19:48, 16 February 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Survey Invitation[edit]

Hi there, I am a research student from the National University of Singapore and I wish to invite you to do an online survey about Wikipedia. To compensate you for your time, I am offering a reward of USD$10, either to you or as a donation to the Wikimedia Foundation. For more information, please go to the research home page. Thank you. --WikiInquirer 16:44, 4 March 2007 (UTC)talk to me[reply]

Thanks for bringing this to administrative attention. As you have seen, Wikipedia does take copyright seriously. This instance is not unambiguous, however, because it rests on the interpretation of a court case. As such I have replaced the page with a copyright violation notice and started a discussion at Wikipedia:Copyright_problems. If the outcome of the discussion is to delete the article, we will go ahead with the deletion. If you feel this is not satisfactory, you may email OTRS for further assistance at info-en-c@wikimedia.org. Let me know if you have any questions or concerns. --TeaDrinker (talk) 05:41, 2 July 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks for watching the page and letting me know about the revert. I apologize for taking so long to reply (I was away for the fourth of July weekend). It looks like another admin has reverted the premature removal of the copyright notice and taken the additional step of preventing the page from being edited. If you notice anything else with the page, please don't hesitate to contact me. Thanks again, --TeaDrinker (talk) 21:49, 6 July 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Update[edit]

Hi. Thank you for clarifying that licensing claim. It seemed unlikely that you would have reversed your stance, but your input is valuable there. I just wanted to let you know that I have now protected the article so that it cannot again be edited to remove the copyright template. I completely understand your concerns about mirroring; as we know, this happens very quickly with Wikipedia. I appreciate your patience with the process. Since I see you've had issues with this before, I might suggest that if you encounter such copying in the future, you blank the article with the template template:copyvio and simultaneously follow the directions at Wikipedia:Contact us/Article problem/Copyright. If you choose to take the informal route there of e-mailing info-en-c@wikimedia.org, you will be dealing with volunteers, so in a case that is less clear-cut you should be sure to explain why your material is governed by copyright. In this case, your notes that your definition of Judaism is not universal is certainly persuasive. Thank you, and I do apologize for the restoration out of process of this material. --Moonriddengirl (talk) 17:16, 7 July 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Disambiguation link notification for March 12[edit]

Hi. Thank you for your recent edits. Wikipedia appreciates your help. We noticed though that when you edited List of Turing Award laureates by university affiliation, you added a link pointing to the disambiguation page Robert Kahn (check to confirm | fix with Dab solver). Such links are almost always unintended, since a disambiguation page is merely a list of "Did you mean..." article titles. Read the FAQ • Join us at the DPL WikiProject.
