please unblock me. i think it was unfair to block me. you can check. i have been blocked because i use to make the "hart Performance" of SWEET DREAMS (BEYONCE KNOWLES SONG) too lenghty. i know i didn't ALWAYS insert references because i thought that people responsible for this page would know. For example, Sweet Dreams is Beyonce 11th hot dance club number one single. It is also her 4th rythmic number one single. It reached number 5 on Pop Songs chart. It peaked at number 10 on two separate occasions on billbaord hot 100. In new zealand it had been the third most added song on radi for 6 weeks. YOU BELONG WITH ME was first with 9 weeks and I GOTTA FEELING was second with 7 weeks. It also peaked at number one on AUSTRALIAN URBAN CHART for 8 consecutive weeks because it spent 8 consecutive weeks in the top 10 of ARIA singles chart. It debuted in spain in November, that is 5 months after its digital release. It spent 16 consecutive weeks in the top 30 of Germany. It spent 8 consecutive weeks in the top 10 on Ireland. It topped the polish Airplay Chart like If I Were A Boy, Single Ladies, Halo, Broken Hearted Girl, Video Phone. It got certified Platinum in New Zealand after only 11 weeks which is a record for Beyonce. I WILL NOT INSERT "POLISH AIRPLAY CHART" AGAIN. I HAVE GOT A GOOD CORRECTION FOR BEING BLOCKED ONE MONTH SO FAR. IS IT FAIR TO BLOCK ME FOR INSERTING SUCH DETAILS? And sometimes, you do not even care to look at my reference, you just revert the edits thinking that you can only be right. If yes then, why are others not blocked, why only me?

In case anyone is considering unblocking him, I simply draw your eyes to my earlier comments. Jivesh was blocked for edit-warring, and the material he repeatedly inserted was not simply excessively detailed, it included unverifiable material and material listed on WP:BADCHARTS, a guideline that he has been repeatedly pointed to. I always check your sources. That's why, on I Am... Sasha Fierce, for example, I only reverted two out of three edits: the first edit was actually good. What you need to understand is that many of the sources you have used in the past are unacceptable: hot100brasil.com, for example, can't be used to source anything, because it is an amateur chart. If another editor removes material that you have added, do not simply restore the material with an ALL CAPS EDIT SUMMARY. Discuss it with that editor on the other editor's talk page or the article talk page.

In this case, there were numerous reasons for another editor to remove this material:

The cover competition is a pretty standard piece of promotion: nothing important or notable about it.
There isn't much apparent notability to the MP3 music awards.
I think you stand a better chance with the IDMA, but it still needs discussion.
You are still putting in far too much detail into "chart performance". It is not supposed to be a listing of every chart position that the song achieved on every chart. It isn't supposed to detail the trajectory of the song as it rises and falls, either.—Kww(talk) 16:05, 23 April 2010 (UTC)

Chart Certifications

Hi there. Just to clarify the decision to remove sales from the certificates table was made at Wikipedia talk:record charts as it was concluded that some certificates are based on shipments and not sales which then gives an inaccurate picutre of how well an album has actually sold. That is why we link the column name to the music sales certification page. specific sales should be given in prose if known but should not be sourced from the certificate ideally.Lil-unique1 (talk) 13:15, 25 April 2010 (UTC)

I have removed all the markets (Hungary, Japan and Portugal) from the table, the certifications of which cannot be verified due to those markets not offering certification databases at the moment. Please do not re-insert them again. Also refrain from inflating the number of Platinum-awards the album has received in Ireland and Poland as you have done in this edit. New certification questions

Whilst I understand your concerns about the Irish certificates situation we must be very careful. IRMA and other recording industry associations provide certificates upon request. Record labels have to apply for them and the associated recording association verifies the sales and shipments. certificates are awarded either by sales (the number of copies actually bought) or by shipments (the number of copies requested by retailers). Equally one must understand that chart positions do not always correlate directly with certifications. An album can earn certificates without ever charting very highly. For example Echo by Leona Lewis was certified 2x platinum in the UK despite falling quickly out of the top 40. It is for these reasons that only the certification provider e.g. RIAA, BPI, IRMA can be used the credible source for an album's certificates. The source must come from a IRMA pressrelease or from the IRMA website to claim the album is 4x platinum. Record companies can easily inflate the success of an artist otherwise. Finally Columbia Records/Music World Entertainment have a long history of exageration when it comes to Beyoncé. In 2005 they tried to claim that Beyoncé wrote "Emotion" even though its widely known that the song is a BeeGees classic. That's all the more reason to only trust the certifying body. Its not a question of logic its a question of fact because chart positions are relative not absolute. One week an album selling 105,000 copies could top the Hot 100 but then the following week the number one album could have sold 4 times as much. Regards, Lil-unique1 (talk) 15:12, 12 June 2010 (UTC)

in fact several websites give sales of I Am...Sasha Fierce and something which is true is that certain industries do not frequently upgrade certifications. For instance, I Am...Sasha Fierce has already surpassed sales of 3 million units, yet RIAA has not upgraded the certification. Another one is Single Ladies which has sold more than 4 million downloads as fron April 2010, yet RIAA has not upgraded it. Sweet Dreams has sold more than 350000 units in UK. Yet, it does not even has a Silver certification. But anyway, let me tell you that you are very kind and patient because you always try your best to explain things to me in the simplest way. DID YOU SEE THE MAJOR CHANGES I HAVE DONE IN I AM...SASHA FIERCE? I am sure it will pass for GA or even FA now. But someone needs to appeal for it i guess. Well this is the thing that makes certificates a difficult thing. Just because you sell 3 million copies doesn't mean your automatically entitled to a platinum certificate. The LABEL has to APPLY for the certificate from RIAA and RIAA awards the certificate based upon VERIFIED distribution or sales. That is why the recording industry association e.g. RIAA is seen as a more credible source than the record label itself. RIAA is the one who provides the certificate not sony music. The sales level e.g. 1 million = platinum states WHEN a album can be certified platinum but selling 1 million copies doesn't automatically give it the right to be called a platinum album. Give me chance to read through the album and check the sources etc. Don't worry we will nominate it for GA and get it passed it will just require patience. The GA reviews are a lengthy process and will point on millions of errors/changes we've overlooked. They're very thorough. If you insist on trying to get the album passed A.S.A.P you can nominate the album yourself at WP:GA (you don't have to wait for us to do it). But bare in mind the whole reason i've tagged the article and been working on it is because im already working on two GA's and I'm using the feedback from their to improve this article at the same time. There is a link for Poland Certifications. When you enter it, It will go on GOLD certification Frst. Choose Platinum. You will see the a lbum has a 2x Platinum Certification. I am not lying. Concerning Ireland, some websites say that it has a 4x Platinum Certification. Even IRMA was telling this in 2009. Someone deleted it. Do You thinks it is possible for an album to have only a 4x Platinum Certification if it is in the top 25 of Ireland since 75 consecutive weeks?

Jivesh boodhun, in case you don't know this, Europe's 2x Platinum contains UK's 4x Platinum for I Am... Sasha Fierce. As for your edits, had you provided the proper sources for both Japan's and Hungary's certifications the first time, your insertions would have remained in place. You only chose to provide the correct ones at your second attempt [3], [4]. And as pointed out above by Kww, you should refrain from calling other editors names in edit-summaries, your being 16 year-old is not a reason enough to accept such behavior. This is what the total looks like per the available certifications:

US: 2 million
Europe: 2 million
Japan: 100,000
Canada: 160,000
Australia: 210,000
Brazil: 250,000
Middle East: 40,000
Russia: 20,000
New Zealand: 15,000

Actually, Jivesh boodhun, Hungary was not the only one you failed to provide proper source for, Portugal too here. As for Lady Gaga's UK certification, 4 x Platinum there translates into 1.2 million (Platinum=300,000) and from Germany Gaga has another 5x Gold (500,000), these are the main markets that generate the 70% of the sales in Europe. This page is the dutch charts page for cheryl Cole's "fight for this love". Notice how it includes one single cover (the official one at the bottom of the page) and then two unofficial ones? Those two are fan made covers. How can "Radio" have an official cover when it was never released seperately to PURCHASE as a single? it was only released as PART of the album (as an individual download hence it has same release date as the album). The problem is that you didn't see the magazine yourself, so you cannot add the reference. Their website doesn't work, and you can't use forums, chat sites, or tweets as sources. Only people that actually get Billboard Brazil can add the references.

Because there are so many it has made a mess of the article. I've removed it for time being. Can i recommend that you work on it on the talk page first. Remove all sub-headings because it makes the article navigation too difficult and only include the awards which the album has won OR only include awards relevant to the ALBUM and not the Singles. According to Rule #1 of fair use "Non-free content is used only where no free equivalent is available, or could be created, that would serve the same encyclopedic purpose". Thank you. Erm I'm not sure because i've not read through it full but it needs thoroughly checking for grammer, spelling, tense, diallect, and references (e.g. deadlinks need replacing). We were so lucky with "Why Don't You Love Me", because it easily would be deleted. But in this case "Poison" fails WP:nsongs. Like Mind Is The Magic, just because had a chart in a country, it doeesn't mean that deserve an article.
