G'day,

it is great to see the work you are doing on the DP page.

Can I suggest four things, two major, two minor.

(i) the page is currently very technical. Can you make more of an effort to make the analysis understandable for normal readers? Currently, I don;t think anyone without some background in GB can follow the article.

(ii) there should be a little more discussion of the fact that this is only the majority position in GB. See for example:

Meyers, Adam (1995). The NP Analysis of NP. Papers from the 31st Regional. Meeting of the Chicago Linguistic Society, pp. 329-342. Mihaljević, Milan (1990).

(iii) I didn't understand the first sentence so I boldy rewrote it :-).

(iv) I think if you make the constituent label a subscript is is easier to read: [NP Det [N N]] vs [NP Det [N N]]. What do you think?

Information icon Hello and welcome to Wikipedia. When you add content to talk pages and Wikipedia pages that have open discussion (but never when editing articles), please be sure to sign your posts. There are two ways to do this. Either:

  1. Add four tildes ( ~~~~ ) at the end of your comment; or
  2. With the cursor positioned at the end of your comment, click on the signature button ( or ) located above the edit window.

This will automatically insert a signature with your username or IP address and the time you posted the comment. This information is necessary to allow other editors to easily see who wrote what and when.
