License tagging for Image:Hit the line.jpg[edit]

Thanks for uploading Image:Hit the line.jpg. Wikipedia gets thousands of images uploaded every day, and in order to verify that the images can be legally used on Wikipedia, the source and copyright status must be indicated. Images need to have an image tag applied to the image description page indicating the copyright status of the image. This uniform and easy-to-understand method of indicating the license status allows potential re-users of the images to know what they are allowed to do with the images.

For more information on using images, see the following pages:

This is an automated notice by OrphanBot. If you need help on selecting a tag to use, or in adding the tag to the image description, feel free to post a message at Wikipedia:Media copyright questions. 11:07, 4 April 2007 (UTC)

Joel Clinton rated Start[edit]

Hi, I assume you also are the anonymous user who has worked on Joel Clinton. Anyway, I want to congratulate you on a big improvement for this article. I've rated it as Start-class, because it glorifies Joel Clinton and is not written in an encyclopedic way. Some examples are (but not all, I could quote the entire article):

  • "Clinton plays prop". This is jargon, and I have absolutely no idea what prop is. Sorry, rugby is not a popular sport in my country.
  • "Clinton is a dominating force on the NRL field"
  • "he is the king piece"
  • "the beloved Panthers stalwart that he is"
  • "Tats" is another example of the unencyclopedic way of writing

And numerous more. On the whole, there is much information in the article, but it covers almost exclusively his sports career. I hope this criticism (which you asked for) will help you improve the article even more. Errabee 02:54, 19 April 2007 (UTC)[reply]

You have indeed improved the article but it still needs lots of work to obtain B-grade. The article still contains many unencyclopedic statements, like "the spectacular off-season", "surprising Panther season" or "it came as a shock to many". Other points that need improvement are that the article should contain links to other articles, e.g. Parramatta Eels, Matthew Elliott, 2003 Premiership, Australian Test Team. But there should be many more. Be sure to link to the right article, because simply putting and around the statements will often produce red links. You might want to edit this page to see the code I use. Also, the order of the seasons should be changed for reading purposes. It makes little sense to first read about 2007 and then about 2006. Be careful with images, as they have to be free of copyright. Sometimes copyrighted images can be used if a free alternative is unavailable by using the fair use clause, but you have to specify why that particular image is fair use on the page you use it on.

Finally, I've noticed you haven't been welcomed here on Wikipedia, so welcome! I hope you'll have a nice time here. For your convenience, I'll put a welcoming template on your page that contains many useful links on how to write an article. Errabee 08:38, 20 April 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Joel Clinton[edit]

I have reviewed Joel Clinton for you, leave the peer review on ther for the meantime, I may give it another review if you change the article. Contact me on my talk page, if you want help or have any questions.

Just as another point, Karmichael Hunt is a Good Article. It may be a good article to compare off, to get it up to B-Class (and beyond).

See Wikipedia:WikiProject Rugby league/Peer review/Joel Clinton for the review
