August 2021[edit]

Hello, John,

I saw your message on WikiProject U2 which is currently in an inactive state. WikiProjects were collaborative efforts that thrived on Wikipedia from about 2005-2011 before they fizzled out. Fifteen years ago were over several thousand WikiProjects but there are probably just about 300-400 that are still active. People's availability to volunteer on Wikipedia changes over time or their interests change. But I wanted to acknowledge your message and I'm grateful that you identified your conflict-of-interest. Sorry for the temporary block but Wikipedia is sensitive to any editing that seems promotional because so many people show up here to advertise their business or artistic careers. I'm glad it got cleared up.

I work on maintenance projects (hence how I saw your message) rather than content creation but if you have any questions, just ask any one who has responded on your talk page or go to the Teahouse where experienced editors can explain Wikipedia policy and procedures.
