Well John, you're very fast on deletion but not fast enough on answering questions! You didn't answer my questions. You think we're nothing right? You think we only want to drive traffic to our self right? Because sort of sites did answer like you on certain problem. "You need Faceboook not Wiki", "You need Bebo not Wiki", "Wiki is not for you", "You blablabla", "Wiki blablabla". So why don't you recruit workers to do anything you want instead of offering anyone to register with all good words of benefits? You're not informative as an admin. You only tell sort of words with large of links. Maybe you should give us example of writing not just theoretical words. Am I wrong? Look, I just got lost here, no heart feeling. Everyone here is a volunteer, and has other things to do, like sleep: your first message above was at 23:34 my time, and I had gone to bed. You say there that you registered "because I want to put information about my self"; but that is not what Wikipedia is for - it is a collaborative project to build an encyclopedia, and although anyone can edit there are rules about what subjects are suitable. As I explained on your talk page, subjects for articles have to be notable, and people are discouraged from writing articles about themselves. I didn't mention Facebook or Bebo, but those are examples of the sort of site where you can post information about yourself. I'm sorry if a lot of my advice consists of links to Wikipedia guidelines, but so many new articles come in - more than one a minute - that there is not time to write everything out in full each time. Read some of the advice in the Welcome paragraph on your talk page, to learn more about Wikipedia. You are perhaps right that we could do more to explain to new users what Wikipedia is for and what it is not for before they write an article; we are keen for everyone to start to contribute, but then they are disappointed when it turns out their articles are not suitable. You have moved the article Hakeem sulaimon to the user page of the article creator. The article he created was obviously about himself. Should autobiographies of unremarkable persons as a rule be moved to the editor's user page rather than be deleted? Amsaim (talk) 21:13, 21 November 2009 (UTC)

• Yes - see WP:Userfication#Main user page userfication. It's not mandatory, but as long the autobio is reasonably straightforward and suitable for a user page - not wildly promotional or too much of a detailed CV - it is a rather less WP:BITEy way of dealing with a non-notable new user than just zapping it and telling him he's NN. There is a template {{Nn-userfy}} you can put on the author's talk page, but I don't much like it and have developed a form of words of my own, which you can see on his talk page. Mind you, nearly all these people have only come here to write about themselves: I keep a list of ones I have userfied like this, and I once checked back over the last 50, and just 3 had many any further edits that were not about themselves. I still think it's worthwhile in suitable cases. If you do it, remember to put {{db-r2}} on the redirect that gets left behind. Regards, JohnCD (talk) 21:26, 21 November 2009 (UTC)

Hi, just for clarification and to avoid misunderstanding: When you de-speedied Phiale of Megara, I take it your remark that the quoted text was legitimate fair use was referring only to the latest version of the article, with only the brief quotation in the footnote? If that's what you meant, I have no quarrel with it. I don't know if you noticed, my original tagging was about an earlier version, prior to cleanup/stubbing-down, when there was much more copied material and a lack of proper attribution. The article has now been nominated under the Articles for Deletion procedure, which normally takes seven days during which you can continue to work on it: but before you put much effort into it, please read again the guidelines I linked from the article talk page, and also that on Verifiability which requires confirmation from an independent reliable source: "If no reliable, third-party sources can be found for an article topic, Wikipedia should not have an article on it." I am sorry you put a lot of work into the article, but it didn't go without warning - it was not deleted until 23 November, but it was first tagged for speedy deletion at 06:57 on 20 November, and a warning notice placed on your talk page at the same time which explained the reason: that it didn't meet Wikipedia's requirements for what a band needs to have achieved to have an article, explained at Notability (music), in particular the section Criteria for musicians and ensembles. It was marked for speedy deletion a minute after the article was first was created, and there was no information on the band yet. I went on to finish and complete the article and it met Wikipedia's requirements. I feel the article was wrongfully removed. Could you please undo your deletion? No, I will not undelete your article, because although the first version tagged had little information, the warning on your talk page told you the reason and contained the line: "Please see the guidelines for what is generally accepted as notable, as well as our subject-specific notability guideline for musical topics." If you read those guidelines it is clear that, unsigned and with one album just self-released on the internet, your band has not (yet) achieved enough to meet Wikipedia's requirements. Also, as you are writing about your own band, see #1 in the List of Bad Article Ideas. I know what the tag said. I looked it up and made sure it met the criteria. Under the criteria for musicians and ensembles, there is a list of 12 criteria. It says "a musician or ensemble may be notable if it meets at least one of the following criteria." Telacasters meet more than one of those. They've been played on the radio, they've been reviewed in the press, they've toured and opened for really big bands in big venues, the individual members alone have been involved in numerous mainstream music projects. How does this not constitute a valid Wikipedia entry?

(a) The notability guideline requires you to show "significant coverage in reliable sources that are independent of the subject". Significant means actual comment, not just listings; reliable excludes Myspace and such where anyone can post; independent excludes your own Myspace, Facebook, Twitter, which is all the article showed. I had a look - Find sources: Google (books · news · scholar · free images · WP refs) · FENS · JSTOR · TWL.

(b) Which of the numbered criteria in WP:BAND do you think your band meets?

(you don't need to put a talkback tag here - that's to tell someone there is a message for them on a different page).

Thank you for catching the guy. He has been troubling me as well as other users for almost two years now because he is using the same MO that I mentioned. And he almost always evades any block because he uses different addresses in different ranges. And he always ignores any warnings and messages sent to him. I don't think a short-term range block would do much good - he seems to use one IP for a day and then another a few days later; and long-term range blocks are discouraged. As you will see at the top of this page, I am a very new admin; I will ask a second opinion from Black Kite, who I see blocked one of these yesterday. From his closing comment, he seems to have considered it A7 as much as G4, and I wouldn't argue with that. As a very new admin, I am probably being too cautious. See here for my vacillations on another G4 last night and this morning. I think in each case I was thinking "This has been tidied up a lot and has more references" while the other admin was thinking "It may have been tidied up but the refs are no good and the changes don't address the reason why it was deleted last time". It depends how you interpret the words "substantially identical." I restored the other one in the end because I thought it had a chance, though it seems to be going down the tubes at the new AfD: I don't think this one has a WP:SNOW chance. IMO, direct block and create-protect that article was enough. I can't see what more SPI can give - it is meant to enforce blocks against active users which are hard to legitimately block otherwise, while those are single-purpose accounts. Cheers. Hi John,

In the discussion you quoted, I stated that both Pieing and Piebald were valid targets for Pied and there were no objections. The user who suggested that Pied be turned into a soft redirect stated that "an alternative would be to redirect it to Piebald," and again, there were no objections. A redirect to Piebald is preferable to a soft redirect to Wiktionary because if a user is searching on Wikipedia, it is likeliest that the user is looking for an article, not a dictionary definition. Considering that there are two articles on Wikipedia which are valid targets for Pied, redirecting to Wiktionary is not the best solution. The Piebald article discusses the term "pied" and equates the two terms; do you have any sources which demonstrate that the two are such disparate terms that they should not be discussed on the same article?

Clearly substantial overlap - meaning 1a of pied equated with meaning 2 of piebald - but by no means synonyms. What is your problem with leaving in a Wikt soft-redirect as well as a pointer to Piebald?   • I understand that a reference to my name must appear. However, on most of the links to Memphis Jewish High School my name is clearly listed as "Alex Nahon". As for the theaters, I will check into the location of a cast list, though the show Evita was done before the theater had a website so I doubt that it is anywhere online.

• In regards to the second point you made, I meet two of the three requirements:
  • Has had significant roles in multiple notable films, television shows, stage performances, or other productions.
    • I have performed in the film 21 Grams and in the off-Broadway production of Sister Mary Ignatius Explains it all for You. In addition, I did a voice over for two episodes of Blues Clues. I am also a puppeteer for a national organization called Kids on the Block.
  • Has a large fan base or a significant "cult" following.
    • I do not have a large fan base. As a puppeteer and theater technician/designer, I am rarely seen by the public.
  • Has made unique, prolific or innovative contributions to a field of entertainment.
    • I am in the process of developing a joystick operated spotlight system that is controlled from a Mac, something many technicians have wanted.
    • Working with Kids on the Block, I have made changes in the lives of a few children with Down syndrome. Though I have not affected many, just one is important.

• In regards to the third point:
  • After reading this, it has become clear why autobiographies are not allowed. If I write an article on my sister (who has done much, much more than I) is that acceptable?

• In regards to the fourth point:
  • I have seen what can happen when people put wrongful information on Wikipedia. Just the other day, I saw someone write their name in the middle of a paragraph on Napoleon, and then when it was removed, I was reading the same article, they put it back again. So by creating the article, being one of its editors (not an author), I can set a starting point as to where the article should go. Plus with the help of administrators, I can keep false information away, not biased information but information such as dates, names, places, and other pieces of information that could be changed and made false.

Even autobiography is not forbidden, only strongly discouraged, and likely to lead to particularly close checking of references and notability. The anonymous nature of Wikipedia accounts means there is no way to actually prohibit it. In writing about your sister you would still from our point of view have a conflict of interest. You would have to be very careful that everything you wrote was written from a neutral point of view and confirmed by reliable independent references. Read these guidelines (I am sorry to point you to so many impersonal guidelines, but it saves writing everything out at length every time):

• WP:Best practices for editors with conflicts of interest
• User:Uncle G/On notability#Writing about subjects close to you
• The list of Bad Article Ideas is worth a read, too.

In regard to your own article, I'm sorry, but I don't agree that you meet WP:ENTERTAINER. Significant roles in multiple notable films etc. and unique, prolific or innovative contributions mean more than you have achieved. I advise you not to put your article in again.

deletion of new page

Hi John,

I'm a new Wikipedia editor, still learning the ropes, and believe you may have deleted the page I was just creating for the web series Living With The Infidels.

I was just about to add a series of references but found the page already deleted. Living With The Infidels was probably the most talked about web series of the year by the British mainstream press, featured everywhere from The Sun, The Guardian and Radio 4 to Al Jazeera and an Australian TV talk show). It also recently won best web series of 2009 at the http://www.festival-4ecrans.eu/. So I believe warrants a mention.

I realise I hadn't yet included any of the references to the above when creating the page, but trust you'll understand I'm a newcomer. Would you be able to reinstate the page?

So much of it was about her relationships, her feelings, her friends. An encyclopedia article should be about facts - who she is, what she has done - and they should be referenced from reliable sources. I do not understand why the College of Journalism and Mass Communications page was deleted. What does it mean by non-notable J-school?

That article was deleted under the Proposed Deletion procedure - a notice was placed on it, the user who created the page, User:JFlyUNL, was notified, and there were seven days during which any editor could object. The grounds for deletion were lack of notability, a Wikipedia term, shorthand for "Of enough importance and significance to merit an encyclopedia article". That is not a subjective judgement, but is measured by whether a subject has "received significant coverage in reliable sources that are independent of the subject". Significant means substantial comment, more than just listings; reliable excludes blogs, Myspace and sites where anyone can post what they like; independent excludes the subject's own website and affiliated ones. More detail at Notability (organizations and companies}.

Although precedent is not necessarily binding, the precedent established in previous deletion discussions, documented at WP:OUTCOMES#Education, is that:

Very well, I have undeleted the article: it is at College of Journalism and Mass Communications (University of Nebraska–Lincoln). Before you put a lot of work into it, make sure that you can actually find the independent references needed to establish notability. I guess that you are connected with the school, which from Wikipedia's point of view gives you a conflict of interest: a good way is to follow the advice in User:Uncle G/On notability#Writing about subjects close to you:

When writing about subjects that are close to you, don't use your own personal knowledge of the subject, and don't cite yourself, your web site, or the subject's web site. Instead, use what is written about the subject by other people, independently, as your sources. Cite those sources in your very first edit. If you don't have such sources, don't write.

For other advice, look at:

• WP:Writing better articles
• WP:College and university article guidelines
• WP:Avoid academic boosterism

No need to apologise: Wikipedia's rules and procedures are too complex for anyone to be expected to get them all right. In fact I feel apologetic because the DRV did not from your point of view give a conclusive result, and I must admit that I was not aware of WP:ND3 to which the admin who closed the DRV pointed us, nor was I clear whether you were arguing only to reverse the merge decision or also to undelete the other articles.

WP:ND3 suggests that you should start a discussion on the article talk page to try to get a consensus to reverse the merge decision. It seems to me that it would be easier to get that consensus if you could show an improved article, rather than saying "it should be unmerged because it could be improved". So I have copied the article, as it was pre-merge, into a useful new invention called the Article Incubator, where you and anyone else who wants to help can work on it. You will find it at Wikipedia:Article Incubator/Ron "Bumblefoot" Thal.

What I am not sure about is the procedure to follow after it has been improved. The community has fairly firmly said "merge" and declined the opportunity to reverse that: if I had to make a decision now, I would say that, before being returned to the mainspace, the revised article should once again go through a formal AfD; but I will take advice about that.

There was Wilbury as a possible keep, happy to go with merge, and Watson for merge, but don't forget the other two voices, RadioFan as nominator and Cynof, both saying "delete all". Yes, they said that before Wilbury improved the article but I'm sure they were watching the debate and they could have chipped in again if they wanted. There is no way you could claim a consensus to keep the article, or even "no consensus" about keeping it. The debate ran its full seven days and was listed on Wikipedia:WikiProject Deletion sorting/Music - the whole debate appears on that list, for anyone scanning down it, and many people will have scanned it there or on the main day's list, and could have intervened if they had wanted to.

Anyway, that was my assessment of the result as closing admin, and DRV was the court of appeal which could have told me I'd got it wrong, but did not.

As far as improving the merge goes, anyone who likes can add more information about Bumblefoot to the GNR article, that's just normal editing; but if it is a question of reintroducing a stand-alone article, the only way that will happen is when someone is interested enough to do the work of producing an improved one and arguing it through. I will leave the article in the Incubator, anyway - it gets to stay there a month by the normal process.

Hello,

I noticed you added this article to the incubator following the AfD. I appreciate the jesture, but I think the decision is wrong. The AfD did technically indicate it might be a redirect, but due to it being a combo-AfD mostly on a somewhat-related record company that conclusion was wrong. (The number of opinions specifically on Bumblefoot was insufficient to form a proper consensus in any case).

A quick search indicates clear notability. If the article had its own AfD, I am quite confident it would be a keep.

Given this, are you OK with me simply undoing the redirect (possibly with an edit summary that says anyone who disagrees is welcome to seek a proper AfD)?

I too am thoroughly tired of the whole thing, and if after reading all the discussions you decide to revert the merge, I will not wheel-war or make a drama, and in fact will simply wash my hands of it with some relief; but I don't think it would be right because:

• The search you have done pops up lots of references to him in connection with GNR; the issue, discussed by JamesBWatson at the AfD in proposing "merge", is whether he has independent notability,
• As I explained to Aisha above, I do not think the consensus of the AfD could have been interpreted as "Keep Thal", or even "No consensus re Thal",
• The DRV considered the whole AfD and, though it was ruled to be not the right forum to challenge the merge, nobody suggested the close was wrong; only one contributor (Tony Fox) expressed some doubt about Thal and said he would think about it, but did not come back to change his opinion,
• I don't think that community decisions, arrived at and reviewed by due process, should be overturned by IAR in response to extended complaints, without any new evidence, by those who disagree.

This seems to me exactly the right use for the Incubator - an article which has been decided to be not encyclopedia-worthy in its present form, but which its supporters say can be made so. What's wrong with letting it stay in the Incubator until it has actually been improved? If independent notability is so clear, that should be quick and easy (though Spike looked for evidence and did not find it); if half the effort that has been put into complaining about the decision had been devoted to actually finding evidence and improving the article, there should by now be no doubts about it.

However, if you think undoing the redirect is the right thing to do, go ahead, and I will not complain further.

Sorry to have bothered you on this matter again... Normally, I would just improve the article & not worry about it. The only reason I said something if the article had like 100 incoming links and I can't work on it immediately (working on a couple others currently). I don't really contest your reading of the AfD, just the result. Combo-AfDs are, by nature, incapable of handling anything but the clearest "delete all" cases fairly. The reason is that when one is presented say 5 related topics, the normal reaction is not to investigate each carefully but instead just say "delete all" or "keep all" based on an investigation of the first one or two topics, or worse yet a personal opinion about the nature of the articles in question as a whole.

I'm sure you are tired of arguing notability, so I'll keep this super brief. He is independently notable because stories have been written about him. True, if he had never joined GNR this wouldn't have happened most likely, but he did & the stories followed. Stories like 'Tapping into genius: Ron "Bumblefoot" Thal's innovative two-handed techniques' and 'In Search of ... Bumblefoot' are clearly about him, even if the first line mentions he is the lead guitarist of GNR.

• Hello sir, if I may butt in here... Only policies are in place for your protection and ours. We only allow material that can be verified by third parties to prevent untruths from filling the encyclopedia. If we didn't have this policy, someone could find your article and write "John P. is well known for being ugly and smelly. In 2008 he robbed a local convenience store and is currently on the run from the police." Without a policy to prevent untruths, we'd have to leave that info intact, which could cause you real world harm. For reasons that should be fairly obvious, the readers at GiantBomb.com have come after our Wikipedia page. Despite personally clearing the air with Geff Gerstman, his readers have caused you to delete our page. Admittedly, our page needed to be updated (we have accolades beyond being listed on several prominent sites), but using things like Alexa ratings and a misstep by one of my editors isn't much of a case for deletion. I'd like the page restored - is this something you can do, or can you direct me to the appropriate person please?

In order to have an article, something needs to be Notable - click on that for an explanation, and on Notability (web) for more details. If you looked a little deeper, however, you would note that this article has 3 sources. 2 sources are not reliable (being a public forum and a torrent download), and the other is questionable at best (being a Wikipedia-like database of community-submitted information). In other words, I could easily eliminate these sources from the article. If I did so, would I be able to re-submit the article for speedy deletion? Thanks again. I agree the sourcing is still weak, but re-reading the AfD, I'm inclined to suggest a merge, maybe with Korn discography or Korn 1994 album) where three of the songs reappear - if they are an important band and this was the demo they used to get a deal, it's part of their history. Thanks again! I started simply rewriting it actually, which is why I wanted the original (attribution). All it needs is a slight shift in focus, I think. What change did you make, username 1? and what browser are you using? I left this on Sameed786's talk but will post it here too in case it's more convenient for you; I saw all those articles from their beginnings, and John, originally these characters were described as Pakistani gangsters who were knifing each other with shivs, then they were changed to international football superstars, and then they were downgraded to under-16 nobodies. A quick Google search on the names turned up pretty much nothing but Facebook pages. Declined unblock requests must not be removed from talk pages - see WP:BLANKING - while the block is in force. That IP's block has expired by now, so if the user likes to remove the block warning he can - it's still visible in the history. But it should not be replaced with a phoney unblock-agreed notice. Hi. :) If you decline a WP:CSD#G12, unless copyvio concerns seem unfounded, please blank it for listing at WP:CP. If you just remove the speedy, there's a chance that the tagger will not follow up, and we may wind up continuing publication of a copyright infringement after it has been pointed out to us. It seems to me that if the "History" paragraph which is the copyvio were removed, what remained would be a valid stub article, and the author could be invited to expand it in his own words. Yes, it's pretty messy, all right. :/ The biggest danger with simply removing the identified passage is that the introduction may also violate copyright, from a source we have not yet detected. :) He's created a good many articles which are a pastiche of copyrighted material from multiple sources. That said, I don't like deleting valid content, either, even though presumptive deletion is supported by policy at Wikipedia:Copyright violationss. The introduction is only four sentences long, and I've just done a quick text search at google and google books to at least see if I can determine a paste point (he frequently cites the source he copies, but sometimes cites other sources instead). I didn't find anything, so I would think stubbing this could be enough to resolve it at CP. If you do, please add {{subst:cclean}} to the talk page to help clarify the removal and prevent inadvertent reintroduction. :) --Moonriddengirl ^(talk) 20:03, 21 December 2009 (UTC)

That is not a matter of opinion but needs to be demonstrated by showing "significant coverage in reliable sources that are independent of the subject." Significant means more than just listing-type mentions; reliable excludes Myspace, blogs, places where anyone can post anything; independent excludes the subject's own website and affiliated ones and press releases. It's unlikely that anything will have attracted enough independent comment to be notable until it has been out for some time: Wikipedia only reports on established things, it is not in the business of helping to promote new ones. You don't need to do anything - the only article you posted has already been deleted, and the only image you uploaded to Commons didn't have the right copyright information, so it will be deleted automatically in seven days. Deletion of Howard James Reekie page

I was about to add the detail onto this page as to the production company tie in to the production of Kingdom of the Spiders II, as Porthollywood was written about and a link to Igo Kantor and Howard Reekie was incorporated in the Kingdom of the Spiders page. I feel this is significant information and do not understand why you deleted the page. Please explain - I have read the (A7: Article about an eligible subject, which does not indicate the importance or significance of the subject) and still no not understand, as a sequel movie is significant and the producers of such. If not why is the article on the original even on Wiki. Thanks.

Your article did not make it clear that it was about a comic-strip - I thought it was an attack on a real person called Dhruv Patel. I see that you have put it in again, but another editor has redirected it to the Toronto Star. That is probably best, because I doubt if the comic strip is notable enough to have its own article - see WP:Notability for what that means. Thanks John, I see this kind of thing a lot in new page patrol and I actually just asked another admin what their thoughts were concerning better educating new users BEFORE they post a wiki article. I see a lot of articles that blip on and look poorly sourced and formatted, but with subjects that have potential to be perfectly fine additions. You have an excellent point there, and I have an idea which I never quite get round to writing down that on signing up for an account new users should be made to read a short page about what WP is and is not, and actually click an "I have read and understood the above" checkbox. deletion of Ric Horner - request for undeletion

Hi,

your deletion of my entry - still in formative stages - for Ric Horner seems somewhat harsh. RH is an artist who, over many years now, has developed an oeuvre of considerable interest, largely because of its integrity. Although he is practically a hermit, paintings by him are owned by several notable people on wikipedia, and his works are both brilliantly original and sought-after. You'll find him on the castelarts.co.uk webpage named next to Damien HIrst, whose status as wikipedia-worthy is unquestioned.

It is difficult to see what further form of eminence I can use for establshing his credibility beyond pointing to galleries and art shows. RH has not stooped to book illustrations, and nor has he appaeared in the London media, which a lot of artists base their 'importance' on, rather than their art. He just paints light in an extraordinarily accomplished way. I would have written more on this this evening if you had not deleted my start.

The bar for inclusion in Wikipedia is quite high: the term is notability, which is not a matter of subjective opinion but needs to be demonstrated by showing "significant coverage in reliable sources that are independent of the subject." What is needed is something like independent reviews. More detail at WP:Notability (people) and WP:CREATIVE. If you think the article can be improved to meet that standard, I will undelete it for you into the WP:Article Incubator, a place where articles not yet ready for the encyclopedia can be worked on. Thanks - I'd appreciate you undeleting it, so it can be improved (please could you direct me via a link). I'll add press reviews as references, and further details. May I point out that, for artists, galleries are one of the most important links; and while not being necessarily independent, they are a guarantee of worthiness/interest - a good gallery does not just take any tom, dick or harry on to its books. May I also point out (by way of trying to be helpful) that this is all getting too complicated for someone like me who just wanted to assist wikipedia in an area where it is lacking. I don't have the time - or the wikipedia skills - to do a lot of this stuff. If there is a feedback forum it might be worth noting that it is very discouraging to have a post deleted, probably by a non-expert in the field, after editing an entry. The instinctive reaction is to say that I won't bother again. I've started this one so I'll finish it, though. Cheers. What I deleted, Ophélie Bretnacher disappearance, was not an article at all, just a message to say that the article Ophélie Bretnacher which was deleted at Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Ophélie Bretnacher had been kept on French Wikipedia. Each Wikipedia has its own standards and procedures, so that is not a conclusive argument for reintroducing the article here. If you disagree with the decision of the AfD, you should take it to WP:Deletion review. Your persistence is admirable, but I have to say that I share the view of nearly everyone at the AfD, this does not meet our inclusion criteria. It is a sad and tragic case, and it was reported in the newspapers, but that does not make it notable in an encyclopedic sense. The article was deleted because the only achievement claimed was that she has just signed with a model agency. That is not enough to have an article in an encyclopedia. We are part of a miniscule Chitrapur Saraswat community and are proud of the achievements of Sanmesh Kalyanpur. At a young age of 15, he had saved his 8 year old sister from drowning in open manhole during the July floods which drowned Mumbai in India. The Government of India recognised him with National Bravery Award and he was selected for the prestigious Sanjay Chopra Award. He was also awarded the President of India's Jeevan Raksha medal which is awarded for exemplarary bravery. Maharashtra State selected him for Maharashtra Gaurav Puraskar. All these achievements ot a young age justifies mention in Wikipedia.

All the awards mentioned form part of Government of India's gazzette notification and there are many articles in newspaper which were provided on the site. I was disappointed when I was told that the page has been deleted since tthe achievement doesnot merit inclusion.

The article was deleted after a deletion discussion at Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Sanmesh_Kalyanpur, which decided that it did not meet Wikipedia's notability requirements for an encyclopedia article. If you want it restored, you should first approach JForget (talk · contribs), the administrator who closed the discussion, and invite him to reconsider. Hi, I created a page for Klaus Thymann yesterday, he is a noted photographer and filmmaker who has won many awards. You say you "do not know this photographer" but the article shows that he is represented by the photographic agency AFG Management, and your username makes it clear that you are working for them and trying on their behalf to use Wikipedia to promote one of their clients. This is absolutely against our rules on Advertising and Conflict of Interest. I see also in the history that this article has already been deleted five times, including a version two months ago from a user called Afgmanagement. First, Wikipedia is a serious encyclopedia which deals in facts which are verifiable from reliable sources: your statements like "proved to be the greatest player of all time" and "Pele saw him... and said:"He is better then me when he has both hands tied behind his back"" do not suggest that you are serious. Second, even if you take the nonsense out, there is no indication that he is notable in Wikipedia's sense, which is not a matter of opinion: for footballers, the standard is WP:ATHLETE and requires a subject to have competed at the fully professional level. I would be surprised if there are footballers who don't meet WP:ATHLETE, unless they are notable for some other reason - in every disputed case that I have seen, an article has been rejected unless the player has actually played at the fully professional level - just having been signed is not enough. In any case, we have a policy WP:OTHERSTUFFEXISTS that says the existence of one article that shouldn't be here is not a reason for allowing another. You can put the article in again, but first read Your First Article and WP:Notability (people) and the policy on WP:Biographies of living persons. It will take more than "tweaking" - any claims it makes must be backed up by reliable sources, so stick to facts, not opinions like "greatest player of all time". But if his only claim to notability is as a youth footballer, it is likely to be deleted again. JohnCD (talk) 22:01, 8 January 2010 (UTC)

Hi, I was briefly looking through the page history of Christian, to see how many edits there had been and I spot a vandal editor called CamponhoyletheII. I went to his userpage and it said 'hi im a sockpupeteer.and all suspected sockpuupets are my work and i will now take over wikipedia with my super virus.prepare to die admins.' So I decided to see if there was a 'Camponhoyle the I' which there was who was also a vandal and sockpuppeteer who had several confirmed sockpuppets and suspected Sockpuppets which he confirmed are his above. I believe that this Camponhoyle has returned, and under his recent blocks and investigations and whatever, two main names appeared, MangoJuice and yourself. When I went to Mangojuice it appeared that he had semi-retired so I decided to come to you. I hope you can deal with this matter, I don't personally want to get involved in it all. Smelly wellyssssss said on fritzl case, he has a son called paul from camponhoyle, Paulfritzl said something similar, Frankreichman is the same person as Camponarmstrong and paulfritzl (see his unban appeal on his talk page) and the campon bit in camponarmstrong gives that away. All the accounts were created within the space of just over one day, there is pretty much enough evidence that they are linked. I should forget about CSL Sofas if I were you: (a) your last version was an attack which would only be allowable based on strong reliable sources, which that kind of review site is not, because anyone can post what they like there; (b) I doubt if they are notable, (c) the title has now been salted so that to create it you would have to convince an admin to unsalt, (d) trying to create that article was on of the Camponhoyle gang's trademarks, so popping up and trying it again throws strong suspicion on you - the best way to defuse that is to forget about CSL and establish a record of editing constructively on other things. I was ONCE one of those vandals but I turned my back on them and disappeared working hard to become an admin on another wiki. I eventually returned to wikipedia for a clean slate and to contribute sensibly (have a look at my contributions minus CSL Sofas). Trust me that company is notable, but I will take your advice and give it up. Do have a look at all those accounts and ban them because knowing my friends, they'll keep coming back and back. For obvious cases like these, that would be a waste of time. They are blocked anyway. Nearly all those names were already blocked - I have blocked two new ones and one hangover from September which had never edited. Now: thank you for your input, but I am getting rather worried by your keenness on pursuing this. Vandals of this type get their excitement from "the thrill of the chase" - setting up new accounts, leaving taunting messages and so on. Our strategy is to try to make things so boring that they give up and go back to throwing stones at cats or spray-painting "Poop" on the school walls. It is summarised by RBI - Revert, Block, Ignore. Camponhoyle was a nuisance for a few days last September; if he is starting again that is a pain, but if we stick with RBI he will probably get bored again soon. My concern is that by hunting down these accounts and messaging me several times a day about them, you may actually become part of the problem by adding to the excitement, especially if they become aware and start to watch your edits and my talk page. I can see a game starting where they set up an account, leak it to you, place bets on how soon you tell me and it gets blocked. We don't want to give them that much attention: they don't actually do much harm, silly vandalism is usually caught and reverted quickly, and anyone doing much is soon blocked, sock or not. If you really want to turn your back on this lot, I strongly suggest that you forget all about them and ignore them from now on, and concentrate on other aspects - there's plenty to do here. In fact, though I won't do it unless you agree, I suggest that you let me block this account, and set up a new one as a "clean start" which will have nothing to do with Camponhoyle, ever.
