Managing a conflict of interest[edit]

Information icon Hello, John Johnson Gallery. We welcome your contributions, but if you have an external relationship with the people, places or things you have written about on Wikipedia, you may have a conflict of interest (COI). Editors with a conflict of interest may be unduly influenced by their connection to the topic. See the conflict of interest guideline and FAQ for organizations for more information. We ask that you:

  • avoid editing or creating articles about yourself, your family, friends, colleagues, company, organization or competitors;
  • propose changes on the talk pages of affected articles (you can use the {{request edit}} template);
  • disclose your conflict of interest when discussing affected articles (see Wikipedia:Conflict of interest#How to disclose a COI);
  • avoid linking to your organization's website in other articles (see WP:Spam);
  • do your best to comply with Wikipedia's content policies.

In addition, you are required by the Wikimedia Foundation's terms of use to disclose your employer, client, and affiliation with respect to any contribution which forms all or part of work for which you receive, or expect to receive, compensation. See Wikipedia:Paid-contribution disclosure.

Also, editing for the purpose of advertising, publicising, or promoting anyone or anything is not permitted. Thank you. Theroadislong (talk) 13:43, 26 January 2020 (UTC)[reply]

January 2020[edit]

Information icon Welcome to Wikipedia. Everyone is welcome to contribute constructively to the encyclopedia. However, discussion pages are meant to be a record of a discussion; deleting or editing legitimate comments is considered bad practice, even if you meant well. Even making spelling and grammatical corrections in others' comments is generally frowned upon, as it tends to irritate the users whose comments you are correcting. Take a look at the welcome page to learn more about contributing to this encyclopedia. Thank you. Larry Hockett (Talk) 21:35, 27 January 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Conflict of interest[edit]

You need to declare your clear conflict of interest before doing anything else on here. Theroadislong (talk)

February 2020[edit]

Information icon Hello and welcome to Wikipedia. When you add content to talk pages and Wikipedia pages that have open discussion (but never when editing articles), please be sure to sign your posts. There are two ways to do this. Either:

  1. Add four tildes ( ~~~~ ) at the end of your comment, or
  2. With the cursor positioned at the end of your comment, click on the signature button located above the edit window.

This will automatically insert a signature with your username or IP address and the time you posted the comment. This information is necessary to allow other editors to easily see who wrote what and when.

Thank you. Theroadislong (talk) 17:58, 1 February 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Copyrighted images[edit]

Please stop uploading images that are copyrighted. You need explicit permission to use these, you cannot just post something you take from person's website. —  HELLKNOWZ   ▎TALK 17:33, 2 February 2020 (UTC)[reply]

See the first part of commons:COM:OTRS#Licensing_images:_when_do_I_contact_OTRS?. The person must grant the specific items under a free license, not just grant permission. An e-mail would look something like commons:COM:ET. Copyright is a complicated matter. —  HELLKNOWZ   ▎TALK 23:27, 9 February 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Uff. It's so complicated. Can I ask him to upload the pictures alone?

Edit warring to remove rejection notices at Draft:Eddy Apostu will not help you get the draft accepted. Theroadislong (talk) 15:37, 16 February 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Good. Then assist make it publishable. Is that so hard? I don't understand how.

Your draft was rejected on 20 January 2020 by User:QueerEcofeminist which means that no amount of editing will make it acceptable, unless you can show that he passes WP:ARTIST and I'm not seeing how he passes that. Theroadislong (talk) 10:24, 17 February 2020 (UTC)[reply]
