Yessss! You made an account! Totally sweet! Anybody can edit; just go to an article and edit it. Be Bold, but please don't put silly stuff in - it will be removed very quickly, and will annoy people. Besides that, you shouldn't feel nervous or anything about a good-willed contribution. If you're concerned, talk to us. Play in your user area. For example, create User:Johnkimparknew/test. If you feel nervous, feel free to talk to us. When you're ready, start your first article using the Article Wizard. You don't HAVE to use it, but for your first article it really helps. It should be about something well-known, and it will need references. If you'd like more guidance, you guessed it, talk to us. Hi Joe, good to hear from you. You are right I am a beginner and I intended to make a userspace draft first which would allow me to make subsequent corrections. Since you are an experienced expert I do appreciate your comments and assistance. I hope I can make my first - and hopefully not last - contribution to Wikipedia which should be useful for readers. Great! I like the cut of your gib John! I've had a chance to review your draft User:Johnkimpark/new_article_name_here and here are a few suggestions. First, you should review Wikipedia:Reliable sources - I know you spend a lot of time tracking those down, but blogs and youtube aren't really reliable sources. Financial times, Bloomberg...kick ass! Company websites...booooo! Next is the way the article layout. In a general sense Wikipedia:Layout, but also Wikipedia:Manual_of_Style_(biographies) will help a stitch. Wikipedia:Notability_(people) is help content wise, note the 'Creative professionals' subsection. Finally, inside the ref tags use these: Wikipedia:Citation_templates. Thanks for the feedback, though it's quite frustrating. I learnt that YouTube is per se an unreliable source and I used blogs (not reliable either) which are already mentionned elsewhere in Wiki... I spent an enormous amount of time (my wife is unhappy about it) and I now wonder if I better give up. I may never become a contributor to Wiki.--Johnkimparknew (talk) 06:03, 3 November 2009 (UTC)

Ack! Well don't give up. Sure things can take time, but you don't have to do it all in one day and upset the wife! ;) Over the years i've been off/on wiki, sometimes spending lots of time a day, sometimes once a week for 5 minutes. Learning about reliable sources can be tricky at first, but once you get the hang of it you'll find efforts being more productive. Felix Abt

Hello, and welcome to Wikipedia. I noticed you moving the page Wikipedia:So you made a userspace draft to Felix Abt and suspect you didn't really mean to do this. What you probably meant to put on the Felix Abt page was the (at first glance) excellent article you've been working on here. For now I've put the Wikipedia:So you made a userspace draft article back where it came from. It's all a bit confusing, I know - it looks like you are following a guide that expected you to have stored your article in a user sub-page, perhaps User:Johnkimparknew/Felx Abt. The best way to add your work to the encyclopaedia is to cut and paste all the material belonging to your article to User:Johnkimparknew/Felx Abt - once you are happy it's all correct, it can then be mvoed to Felix Abt. Verification of criticial references

I verified the weaker references (blogs, company websites) of the draft article "Felix Abt" and here are my findings: Ref. No. 3 and 42: www.interview-blog.de This blog was founded in 2007 by Klaus-Martin Meyer and Friedrich Kronenberg and has published so far more than 450 interviews with a wide range of personalities (mainly Germans), including people other than Felix Abt doing business with North Korea such as Nigel Cowie, General Manager of the first foreign-invested joint venture bank Daedong Credit Bank, Pyongyang, and Volker Eloesser, President, Nosotek J.V. Co., Ltd., Pyongyang. Meyer and Kronenberg claim on their blog that they thorougly check the contents of the interviews before publishing them[1]. Ref. No. 20: Mitegro is a business joint venture of 23 German and Austrian wholesalers with more than 180 points of sales serving businesses with electro-technic products throughout Germany and Austria. On its website it regularly publishes relevant information from supplying manufacturers such as ABB. Ref. No. 21 and 22: Felix Abt provides information on his website and on LinkedIn about his career that are consistent with other references (e.g. Ref. No. 20). Ref. No. 26: The Asiabizblog.com is the first China and East Asia Biz Blog. It was founded 8 years ago and operated by the American attorney Richard Kuslan who boasts 25 years of China and East Asia experience. His clients (and readers of the blog) are mainly multinational corporations and Asia experts. Ref. No. 28: The European Business Association (EBA), Pyongyang recommends the videos (including the PyongSu video) on its website. PyongSu is a corporate member of EBA (see "members" on its website) Ref. No. 30: The European Business Association (EBA), Pyongyang recommends the videos (including the video on EBA's founding ceremony) on its website. Ref. No. 38: The European Business Association (EBA), Pyongyang recommends the videos (including the video on the Pyongyang Business School) on its website. According to the website of the Pyongyang Business School, EBA has been a supporter of this business school from its beginnings. Ref. No. 41 and 45: www.nkeconwatch.com was founded in 2007 by Curtis Melvin who works and lives in southern Florida and is a PhD economics student at George Mason University in Virginia. Within a short time Melvin's blog became an important point of reference for people interested in North Korea. He was interviewed by various media such as the BBC and the Wall Street Journal . Ref. No. 43: The European Business Association (EBA), Pyongyang recommends the videos (including the video on Nosotek) on its website. Nosotek is a corporate member of EBA (see "members" on its website). Dear TB, I checked and re-checked all the references, particularly blogs, company websites and youtube videos (see above). I tried to document my findings there but I must have made an error since the references for the comments were not properly added. Anyway, I have the sources and can show them if requested. I see you got Felix Abt installed - yay! It looks great and reads well - good job. If there's a additional material relevant to the article that doesn't really belong on it, the article's talk page is often a good place to put it. For your article, this would be Talk:Felix Abt. It's also worth bearing in mind that not one single article on Wikipedia is ever 'finished' - anyone can come along at any time and change whatever they like, hopefully (but not always) improving on what was there. It's perfectly acceptable to put up a basic article (far more basic than you've managed with Felix Abt) and come back (days, weeks, months or even years) later to improve upon it. - TB (talk) 11:39, 25 November 2009 (UTC)
