Yes, I do agree with you. More importantly...this review isn't even complete. The message he mentioned on my talk page was that he stopped because of the issues he found. The review summary has 4 question marks which means that he either needed a second opinion or didn't finish the review. A review shouldn't be stopped halfway through just because of the issues he found... it should be completed no matter what. What motivated you to join WikiProject Toronto? Are you a Maple Leafs fan? Do you contribute to any other WikiProjects related to Ontario or Canada?

I am always interested in improving Toronto-related articles and I am from Toronto. Yes, I am a Leafs fan. Bring the Cup to Toronto! It is unfortunate that the Toronto Maple Leafs article had to be semi-protected often, just because there are too many Leafs detractors who have nothing good to say. We had been waiting for almost half a century for the Cup! Yea, I contribute to the Golden Horseshoe portion of Canada Roads WikiProject as well.

In general, projects covering Canadian cities, provinces, and infrastructure do not appear to be as active as those in Britain and the United States. Why have WikiProjects had such difficulty thriving in Canada? Do you feel Canadian Wikipedians focus more on other topics?

Canadian WikiProjects do not thrive as well in my opinion, simply because there are simply fewer people, which translates to less interest in these WikiProjects. We can reverse this trend if there is greater interest in them. I believe that Canadian Wikipedians should focus on Canadian WikiProjects, as well as the Countering Systemic Bias WikiProject, which also needs attention from Canadian Wikipedians to provide a Canadian perspective on many general topics that have regional differences.

WikiProject Toronto is home to 12 Featured Articles, 8 Featured Lists, and 39 Good Articles. Have you contributed to any of these articles? What are some challenges facing editors as they try to improve articles about Toronto?

I have contributed to some of these articles, especially Toronto Raptors, as well as to some extent, Don Valley Parkway and Toronto Magnetic and Meteorological Observatory. Some of the challenges include the need to have verifiable and reliable yet updated information.

With Toronto serving as Canada's business and financial hub, does the project deal with many articles about Canadian businesses based in Toronto? Are there any challenges to maintaining and keeping promotional language out of these business articles?

I have been adding some Toronto-based business articles into the WikiProject. However, most of them still have promotional language and removing them would lead to speedy deletion. This means that Wikipedians should scour mainstream news media for information as well.

Toronto is represented in seven major league sports, including the only Major League Baseball and National Basketball Association teams in Canada. How well are Toronto's sports teams covered on Wikipedia?

They are covered very well, especially with Toronto Raptors being a featured article.

With a variety of educational institutions located in Toronto, including the University of Toronto and the Royal Conservatory of Music, have there been any efforts to recruit college and university students to improve Wikipedia's articles on Toronto? Could the GLAM project do more to attract contributions from Toronto galleries, libraries, archives, and museums?

I believe that there have been efforts to recruit post-secondary students to improve Wikipedia's articles on Toronto, but much more are needed however. The GLAM Project should advertise to post-secondary students more effectively, such as placing posters throughout the campuses of post-secondary institutions, as well as through social media. I myself graduated from the University of Toronto with an HBA with high distinction and took music from the Royal Conservatory of Music.

What are WikiProject Toronto's most urgent needs? How can a new contributor help today?

WikiProject Toronto's most urgent need is to recruit more potential post-secondary students into becoming productive Wikipedians. A new contributor can create an account and add more information, as long as it is verifiable, reliable, and up-to-date.

Anything else you'd like to add?

It seems that I am one of the most active Wikipedians for this WikiProject. My main focus is on Toronto Transit Commission-related articles, since they are my main interest. Recruiting more people will definitely help to improve Toronto-related articles, as well as Wikipedia as a whole. Finally, there should be a spinoff WikiProject for the Regional Municipality of York as well. Thank you.

My views on SOPA

I may be Canadian, but I am in full opposition to SOPA. I will temporarily cease editing on the day of action, which is January 18, 2012. I make an average of 10 edits per day and I did not stop editing for so many consecutive days. Fellow Wikipedians made the right decision. I shall black out my page to oppose SOPA. Thank you. Suggestion for an edit to the list of Toronto Subway Stations

Hi Johnny,

I was checking out this page: List of Toronto subway stations that lists all of the subway stations as a chart. It was just to satiate my curiosity about the chronological development of Toronto's subway stations. I saw that there was such a wonderful wealth of information and thought it would be interesting to rank the stations by daily ridership.

Much to my dismay, I quickly realized that sorting them by daily ridership doesn't work correctly. I assume it's because there is text in the fields for stations that intersect two subway lines. Currently it sorts as if it were alphabetical, because they are numbers, its by the lowest, leftmost digit, regardless of how long the number is. I was thinking of editing this to make it work, but I realized that I can currently think of multiple solutions. So I wanted to check in with the most prolific editor of this page for your opinion, and thoughts about what would be the best way to go about this, or if you think it's best to be left as is.

Basically I see three options, but realize there may be others that I'm missing (I have them ranked in a way that I believe is best to worst): 1. Have three stations for each of these double-stations, i.e. St. George B-D, St George YUS, and St. George Combined, and then repeat for Bloor-Yonge, Bloor Sheppard, Kennedy and Spadina. 2. Have the two stations for each double-station, and then add a footnote to the bottom of the chart that shows the combined daily ridership. 3. Have each double station-appear only once with the combined daily ridership. (I think this option might be worse than the status quo)

I can't wait to regale my friends with interesting trivia like, "Did you know that although Finch and Downsview are the two terminal stations of the Yonge-University-Spadina line, Finch has three times as many riders, which gives it the 6th highest daily ridership?"

Toronto Maple Leafs GA Possibility?

I'm a beloved Leafs fan (even though I wasn't even born when they last won the Stanley Cup) and I was just comparing the Calgary Flames article with the Toronto Maple Leafs article. With the Flames article at FA status, I think the Leafs article could stand a chance at becoming a GA. I just wanted to ask you what you think knowing that you are a common editor with the article. To me, it is, especially given how much the pronunciations of words change as compared with their Metropolitan French counterparts and how they no longer are pronounced the way they are spelled in many cases. I read some of these and they are interesting. I add an alphabetical listing slowly to ensure that they stay on the watchlist as long as possible (since watchlist entries are usually bumped off (unless set to all) every week without any edits and if I add to many at once, then there would not be anything to keep the article in the "edited in the past week"). This way, the article will always be visible on the watchlist for a very long time, which in other words, I making very slow progress, but progress nonetheless (and it is better than nobody making edits for months). Hello, the page you referred me to (Wikipedia:WikiProject Canadian communities) is only a suggestion page. Also, there is nothing in the Manual of Style about only using census information. I cited my edit. As far as I am concerned it's a valid edit. You can't point to a "suggestion" page and use it as if it's an official Wikipedia rule that must be followed. Hi. I understand what you are trying to do. I agree that it's pretty common to consolidate discussions when there are separate discussions on the same topic on a talk page (heck, when there are separate discussions on two different talk pages, it isn't even uncommon to move one of them), and it usually makes sense. But this edit request isn't a susbtantive discussion that would provide any great benefit by moving it so it forms part of the larger discussion. I am not sure that it is helpful for the novices that leave such requests for us to be deleting or moving their requests out of chronological order, esp. in cases like this where it doesn't add anything to the main discussion. We should simply be responding in friendly and helpful terms (as you did with your comment about the hatnote). I'm not trying to be difficult, but I do believe that considering what best helps novices (and hopefully encourages them to become more involved) is as important a consideration as trying to keep the discussion in one plave. The editor that initially left the edit request clearly didn't notice the larger discussion immediately above, and I am not sure that we are helping the guy by moving his request up there.
