Contested deletion[edit]

Hi there! My name's Tamzin. I noticed your recent edit to ContraPoints. Wikipedia's Manual of Style (shorter version here) advises: On the English Wikipedia, use the "logical quotation" style in all articles, regardless of the variety of English in which they are written. Include terminal punctuation within the quotation marks only if it was present in the original material, and otherwise place it after the closing quotation mark.
(see MOS:LQ). For that reason, I've reverted your changes, but good copy editors are always appreciated, so I'd encourage you to check out the Manual of Style and the Guild of Copy Editors. - Hi there @Tamzin: and thank you - I'm a little confused by this line "...include terminal punctuation within the quotation marks only if it was present in the original material, and otherwise place it after the closing quotation mark..." which doesn't conform to any form of English, which means I would never be able to correct any pages (how do we know the 'original material?' Anyhting written on Wikipedia should be original in itself). Jolarti (talk) 21:20, 1 June 2021 (UTC)
