I see that you are keen to add your particular picture to the article. In my opinion it would actually stick for longer if you had the Bliss (image) image as the background, as it is the default background after installing Windows XP Could you upload a new version with this background instead? Harryboyles 00:54, 10 December 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Dopn't worry, I've found a very suitable image, (Image:Bliss.png). Thanks anyway. Harryboyles 00:56, 10 December 2006 (UTC)[reply]
Hey, I want the screenshot before that I uploaded for the first time. I want 1024 x 768 pixels. —Jonaz5197 01:52, 10 December 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Windows XP[edit]

Hi and welcome to Wikipedia. Please do not alter the infobox image on Windows XP as the current one is representitive of a default Windows XP install showing the 'Bliss' backdrop and default theme. If you would like to discuss this, please do so on the talk page. Also note that you are close to violating the three revert rule. Please do not revert war as it is disrupive, damaging to the site and will lead to you being blocked. Thanks, Localzuk(talk) 00:57, 10 December 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Please stop! You have been reverted by a couple of people now. It has been long decided that the screenshot should be representitive of the default setup of Windows XP - not using custom desktop images. You are very close to breaching the 3RR I mentioned above. If you continue to revert I will report you for it, which will lead to your being blocked. If you wish to discuss the image - do so on the talk page. Thank you, Localzuk(talk) 12:13, 10 December 2006 (UTC)[reply]
Also note that we do not have copyright permission to show the desktop backgrounds of the (now 2) screenshots you are posting. We cannot claim fair use for such images either as the article is not in any way related to those desktop images. The Bliss background is default to Windows XP and therefore, as we describe this in the article, we can claim Fair Use of it as an image displaying something we are discussing.-Localzuk(talk) 12:24, 10 December 2006 (UTC)[reply]
OK, OK, OK... I will left Wikipedia at this time. Goodbye! --Jonaz5197 11:06, 12 December 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Fair use rationale for Image:Windows xp.PNG[edit]

Warning sign This file may be deleted.

Thanks for uploading Image:Windows xp.PNG. I notice the 'image' page specifies that the image is being used under fair use but there is no explanation or rationale as to why its use in Wikipedia articles constitutes fair use. When you use a generic fair use tag such as {{fair use}} or {{fair use in|article name}}, you must also write out on the image description page a specific explanation or rationale for why using this image in each article is consistent with fair use.

Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale.

If you have uploaded other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on those pages too. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. Note that any fair use images lacking such an explanation will be deleted one week after they have been uploaded, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. Localzuk(talk) 12:30, 10 December 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Possibly unfree Image:Windows_xp.PNG[edit]

An image that you uploaded or altered, Image:Windows_xp.PNG, has been listed at Wikipedia:Possibly unfree images because its copyright status is disputed. If the image's copyright status cannot be verified, it may be deleted. Please go to its page for more information if you are interested in it not being deleted. Thank you. Localzuk(talk) 12:57, 17 December 2006 (UTC)[reply]

The reason that it's possibly unfree is because we have no information of the copyright status of the wallpaper used. If you're not sure that it's completely free, I suggest you reupload another screenshot with a free (as in speech) wallpaper or one with none at all. Thanks, --WikiSlasher 13:59, 17 December 2006 (UTC)[reply]
