Ralf Teckentrup[edit]

I wasn't able to find much of anything that would be useful on that article, which is why I went ahead and posted the AFD. It seems you have, though, and edited it as such- Is it possible to get rid of the afd now? Njsky (talk) 02:14, 7 January 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Hi Njsky, I can't close it because I have voted keep, you can withdraw the AfD by closing it yourself as nominator or if you don't know how just state withdraw on it and an uninvolved editor can close. Thank you for your contributions and have a nice day Josey Wales Parley 11:32, 7 January 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Disruptive editor help[edit]

Hi Josey, hope you're doing well. I have been following the edits of user Hrksmp, who has created at least a dozen biographical articles about various Bangladeshi politicians and made numerous further edits, almost all of which have been entirely citation-free. Despite the numerous reverts and talk page messages, these article creations are still ongoing. I'm not sure if this qualifies as disruptive editing so much as bad editing, but I'm also not sure what to do about it. Other editors have added references to a few of them so Hrksmp is most likely not fabricating this whole-cloth but it is extremely poor form for BLPs. Would you suggest getting an admin involved here? I'm reaching the end of my rope as nothing seems to be getting through to them that these types of articles aren't accepted, or acceptable. Cheers, Kazamzam (talk) 14:49, 8 January 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Hi, Kazamzam probably no harm to ask an admin to intervene, I'd say it's poor editing rather than trying to be disruptive (although I did give a level one warning yesterday) - looks like there was en election in Bangladesh recently and they are trying to add new MPs (meaning they would ultimately be notable so no point going to AfD) I'm putting whatever I see in to Draft space. Longer term it could be an issue of WP:CIR, I'll also keep a lookout on the new pages feed. Many thanks Josey Wales Parley 16:19, 8 January 2024 (UTC)[reply]

request to remove unreliable sources template[edit]

Hello, thanks for reviewing the article Philippine School for the Deaf . I changed one of the references that cites a page on blogger/blogspot. If I met the requirement, would you mind to please remove the below template. Thank you.

PhilipNalangan (talk) 03:42, 13 January 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Hi PhilipNalangan, thats done, thank you for improving the artcle (you are allowed to remove those tags yourself once the aricle is improved to deal with whatever problem is noted - It's only speedy deletion and articles for deletion tags that the creator can not remove). Have a great weekend. Josey Wales Parley 12:11, 13 January 2024 (UTC)[reply]

GRT[edit]

Hi Josey, the article entitled Gypsy, Roma and Traveller people (UK) is the one that should stay, the one that needs to be speedy deleted is Gypsies, Roma and Travellers in the UK. It was my mistake, so apologies there. Boynamedsue (talk) 19:27, 17 January 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Hi Boynamedsue I'll change the tags, thanks for the update Josey Wales Parley 19:30, 17 January 2024 (UTC)[reply]

To remove unreliable sources template[edit]

Hi! Could you please point out to me the unreliable sources in Will Joseph Cook's wiki page so that I can remove them/replace them with something reliable? Thanks. Jettasno1fan (talk) 15:17, 19 January 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Hi Jettasno1fan, the cite highlighter tool show references 13 - 18 are classed as unreliable sources (see the screenshot of results below) many thanks for your efforts in creating articles for Wikipedia!

Josey Wales Parley 20:02, 19 January 2024 (UTC)[reply]

HI, thanks for your response. The red highlighted ones are just to link the songs/EPs to Spotify. I have put the other established music journals and websites to talk about these EPs and songs. The Spotify links are just for those who wish to access the music. I have seen users use Apple Music links to link music. Jettasno1fan (talk) 11:58, 20 January 2024 (UTC)[reply]

New Pages Patrol newsletter April 2024[edit]

Hello Joseywales1961,

New Page Review queue January to March 2024

Backlog update: The October drive reduced the article backlog from 11,626 to 7,609 and the redirect backlog from 16,985 to 6,431! Congratulations to Schminnte, who led with over 2,300 points.

Following that, New Page Patrol organized another backlog drive for articles in January 2024. The January drive started with 13,650 articles and reduced the backlog to 7,430 articles. Congratulations to JTtheOG, who achieved first place with 1,340 points in this drive.

Looking at the graph, it seems like backlog drives are one of the only things keeping the backlog under control. Another backlog drive is being planned for May. Feel free to participate in the May backlog drive planning discussion.

It's worth noting that both queues are gradually increasing again and are nearing 14,034 articles and 22,540 redirects. We encourage you to keep contributing, even if it's just a single patrol per day. Your support is greatly appreciated!

2023 Awards

Onel5969 won the 2023 cup with 17,761 article reviews last year - that's an average of nearly 50/day. There was one Platinum Award (10,000+ reviews), 2 Gold Awards (5000+ reviews), 6 Silver (2000+), 8 Bronze (1000+), 30 Iron (360+) and 70 more for the 100+ barnstar. Hey man im josh led on redirect reviews by clearing 36,175 of them. For the full details, see the Awards page and the Hall of Fame. Congratulations everyone for their efforts in reviewing!

WMF work on PageTriage: The WMF Moderator Tools team and volunteer software developers deployed the rewritten NewPagesFeed in October, and then gave the NewPagesFeed a slight visual facelift in November. This concludes most major work to Special:NewPagesFeed, and most major work by the WMF Moderator Tools team, who wrapped up their major work on PageTriage in October. The WMF Moderator Tools team and volunteer software developers will continue small work on PageTriage as time permits.

Recruitment: A couple of the coordinators have been inviting editors to become reviewers, via mass-messages to their talk pages. If you know someone who you'd think would make a good reviewer, then a personal invitation to them would be great. Additionally, if there are Wikiprojects that you are active on, then you can add a post there asking participants to join NPP. Please be careful not to double invite folks that have already been invited.

Reviewing tip: Reviewers who prefer to patrol new pages within their most familiar subjects can use the regularly updated NPP Browser tool.
