A request for your consideration regarding CAT:AOTR

...My guinea pigs and the "A"s through "H"s having felt this message was OK to go forward with (or at least not complained bitterly to me about it :) ), today it's the turn of the "I"s, "J"s, and "K"s! I'm hoping that more of you chaps/chapettes will point to their own criteria instead of mine :)... it's flattering but a bit scary! :) Also, you may want to check back to the table periodically, someone later than you in the alphabet may have come up with a nifty new idea. ++Lar: t/c 20:23, 3 January 2008 (UTC)

Administration Stuff

Dear Josiah:

I'm trying to figure out what's going on with the Joe Raposo page on Wikipedia. People delete my additions, which are as valid (sometimes much more so) as theirs, and delete whole blocks of content (such as credits and lectures).

Also deleted are lines stating that the Joe Raposo Music Group can be reached through me at my e-mail address. Why? I read one editor's comment that it's like an ad (though it's not). If people can visit the page and get a bunch of gobbledygook that may or may not be true--most of the anecdotal and personal stuff is culled from one memoir--why can't they be informed about where to find me and correct information about his music and catalogue?

Much of the commentary on the page is ridiculous, amateur music crit stuff that has nothing to do with actual influences on my father's career and creativity. In a bunch of cases, it's just wrong.

Why are people so interested in editing this page over and over again?

Thanks for any suggestions you might have,

Best,

Nick Raposo —Preceding unsigned comment added by 205.231.31.112 (talk) 21:06, 5 January 2008 (UTC)

Hello, Nick. If you want to make sure that information stays in a wikipedia article, it must be referenced with verifiable, reliable, independent sources, cited in bibliographic detail. See WP:V and WP:RS. Once you add a good citation to your information, it will be much more likely that other editors will recognize that it is legitimate. Editors who are related to a subject that they are editing are considered to have a conflict of interest, so there edits are viewed with great suspicion. Hope that helps. Should this image be up for deletion? Hasn't it has been properly donated to the public domain by the uploader? Happy New Year! -- Ssilvers (talk) 18:35, 6 January 2008 (UTC)

ITN reform

Since you're busy, I don't know if this is much use. But... You commented on monotonehell's previous proposal for ITN reform. Given recent events which have highlighted the continual problems with ITN, I've taken it, made a few modifications and I'm trying to bring it back. It's currently at User:Nil Einne/ITN reform and any comments or thoughts are appreciated. Also, although I put this on a subpage of my user page, I don't consider this my proposal and would appreciate any help in pushing this along particularly given it's a wide ranging proposal that is likely to take a very long time to get anywhere. I primarily put it there so I could work on it without creating confusion. Also, I thought it might be helpful to avoid a mad rush of people commenting so I'm just informing a few people at first Nil Einne (talk) 08:40, 20 January 2008 (UTC)

Re:Doctors severed hand.jpg

Although it was a while back, I just realised you helped secure the remaining of the picture Doctors severed hand.jpg that i had added, by adding a Fair Use Rationale. So I was just wanting to say thankyou.

Doctor Who fandom help

Hey, I noticed you contributed to the Doctor Who fandom article. I was wondering, because of that, if you might be willing to help edit the page on Fan History about the Doctor Who fandom? Fan History's entry is intended to be a bit more comprehensive and all encompassing as Fan History is a wiki dedicated to documenting and preserving as much fandom history as it can. The Doctor Who article could really use some one familiar with wiki editing and Doctor Who fandom knowledge to make it better. :) If you can help, it would very much be appreciated. --FanHistory (talk) 22:23, 26 February 2008 (UTC)
