A tag has been placed on Category:Wikipedia files with unconfirmed permission received by VRT as of unknown date indicating that it is currently empty, and is not a disambiguation category, a category redirect, a featured topics category, under discussion at Categories for discussion, or a project category that by its nature may become empty on occasion. If it remains empty for seven days or more, it may be deleted under section C1 of the criteria for speedy deletion.

If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself. Liz Read! Removal of David Mayer page

Hi, could you explain to me better why you deleted the page I created yesterday? The disambiguation page should have been a page called David Mayer (disambiguation), which is what I actually moved the disamb to. The page called just 'David Mayer' should be for the guy called David Mayer, not for the disambiguation page, no matter how long it remained up. Perhaps you did not realise that I created a separate disambiguation page when changing the existing one to the page for a person? Jwslubbock (talk) 13:21, 21 November 2022 (UTC)

(Writing on my phone) I don’t think I did this? I can’t delete pages (except during page moves perhaps). Are you sure you’re writing to the correct user? I’ll check on my computer when I get home… Jonatan Svensson Glad (talk) 13:42, 21 November 2022 (UTC)
Yes, you reverted the entire creation of the David Mayer article that I did yesterday. I specifically replaced the disambiguation page with the page I created for Mayer, then created a new disamb page for all David Mayers. Please see - https://en.wikipedia.org/w/index.php?title=David_Mayer&action=history Jwslubbock (talk) 15:31, 21 November 2022 (UTC)
Your reasoning was 'this has always been a disamb page', but that doesn't make sense to me. I created a specific disamb page called David Mayer (disambiguation), but I think my edits to the David Mayer page should be reinstated. Can you please comment on this and tell me what you think should happen? Jwslubbock (talk) 15:32, 21 November 2022 (UTC)
No, that was Onel5969. My edit was in 2017 (5 years ago), Onel5969 only mentioned my username in their edit summary since they restored the page to that version from 5 years ago. Jonatan Svensson Glad (talk) 15:41, 21 November 2022 (UTC)
Hi. Yes, that was me. There is no issue with you creating the page, and that wasn't exactly the message I iterated in my edit summary. What I said was, "Restore dab - this is not the primary topic - no issue with creating a page for this academic, but it must be a new page, rather than hijacking a long-standing dab." That is the proper procedure, then adding your new page to the existing dab.Onel5969 TT me 15:48, 21 November 2022 (UTC)
I'm afraid I just don't understand what you put there. David Mayer should have a page called David Mayer. The dab page should be called David Mayer (disambiguation). Can you explain why I need to create a new page, and why the dab page should not be moved to a page called David Mayer (disambiguation)? Jwslubbock (talk) 16:20, 21 November 2022 (UTC)
Can you explain to me what I should do please according to 'proper procedure'? Are you saying I should create a page called David Mayer (academic)? Because there is no David Mayer page currently, as that page redirects to the disambiguation page. I'd appreciate your advice on this so I can create the page and you don't delete it again. Thanks. Jwslubbock (talk) 00:11, 22 November 2022 (UTC)
Since you've not explained to me why you've deleted this page, I'm just going to put it back. Jwslubbock (talk) 17:09, 22 November 2022 (UTC)
