Speedy deletion of Drai's After Hours[edit]

A tag has been placed on Drai's After Hours, requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section G11 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article seems to be blatant advertising which only promotes a company, product, group, service or person and would need to be fundamentally rewritten in order to become an encyclopedia article. Please read the guidelines on spam as well as Wikipedia:FAQ/Business for more information.

If you think that this notice was placed here in error, you may contest the deletion by adding {{hangon}} to the top of the page that has been nominated for deletion (just below the existing speedy deletion or "db" tag), coupled with adding a note on the talk page explaining your position, but be aware that once tagged for speedy deletion, if the article meets the criterion it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the article that would would render it more in conformance with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. Lastly, please note that if the article does get deleted, you can contact one of these admins to request that a copy be emailed to you. (EhJJ)TALK 01:52, 24 November 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Unreferenced BLPs[edit]

Hello Jpjpstar! Thank you for your contributions. I am a bot alerting you that 3 of the articles that you created are tagged as Unreferenced Biographies of Living Persons. The biographies of living persons policy requires that all personal or potentially controversial information be sourced. In addition, to ensure verifiability, all biographies should be based on reliable sources. If you were to bring these articles up to standards, it would greatly help us with the current 941 article backlog. Once the articles are adequately referenced, please remove the {{unreferencedBLP}} tag. Here is the list:

  1. Victor Drai - Find sources: Google (books · news · scholar · free images · WP refs· FENS · JSTOR · TWL
  2. Cy Waits - Find sources: Google (books · news · scholar · free images · WP refs· FENS · JSTOR · TWL
  3. Jesse Waits - Find sources: Google (books · news · scholar · free images · WP refs· FENS · JSTOR · TWL

File copyright problem with File:JesseWaitsPhoto.jpg[edit]

Thank you for uploading File:JesseWaitsPhoto.jpg. However, it currently is missing information on its copyright status. Wikipedia takes copyright very seriously. It may be deleted soon, unless we can determine the license and the source of the file. If you know this information, then you can add a copyright tag to the image description page.

If you have uploaded other files, consider checking that you have specified their license and tagged them, too. You can find a list of files you have uploaded by following this link.

If you have any questions, please feel free to ask them at the media copyright questions page. Thanks again for your cooperation. Eeekster (talk) 02:49, 14 April 2010 (UTC)[reply]

File source and copyright licensing problem with File:CyWaitsPhoto.jpg[edit]

File Copyright problem
File Copyright problem

Thanks for uploading File:CyWaitsPhoto.jpg. I noticed that the file's description page currently doesn't specify who created the content, so the copyright status is unclear. If you did not create this file yourself, you will need to specify the owner of the copyright. If you obtained it from a website, then a link to the website from which it was taken, together with a restatement of that website's terms of use of its content, is usually sufficient information. However, if the copyright holder is different from the website's publisher, their copyright should also be acknowledged.

As well as adding the source, we also need to know the terms of the license that the copyright holder has published the file under, usually done by adding a licensing tag. If you created/took the picture, audio, or video then the {{GFDL-self}} tag can be used to release it under the GFDL. If you believe the media meets the criteria at Wikipedia:Non-free content, use a tag such as {{non-free fair use in|article name}} or one of the other tags listed at Wikipedia:Image copyright tags#Fair use. See Wikipedia:Image copyright tags for the full list of copyright tags that you can use.

If you have uploaded other files, consider checking that you have specified their source and tagged them, too. You can find a list of files you have uploaded by following this link. Unsourced and untagged files may be deleted one week after they have been tagged, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If the file is copyrighted under a non-free license (per Wikipedia:Fair use) then the file will be deleted 48 hours after 03:02, 14 April 2010 (UTC). If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. ww2censor (talk) 03:02, 14 April 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Re: Images[edit]

Unless you created these images yourself, you shouldn't be lying about their licensing. If a photo came from a magazine, it's not yours to release under a free license, and is probably copyrighted. You're welcome to upload any images you created yourself. (ESkog)(Talk) 11:33, 23 April 2010 (UTC)[reply]

The article Cy Waits has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:

Vanity page. Cy Waits is neither noteworthy nor significant

While all contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, content or articles may be deleted for any of several reasons.

You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{dated prod}} notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the article's talk page.

Please consider improving the article to address the issues raised. Removing {{dated prod}} will stop the proposed deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. The speedy deletion process can result in deletion without discussion, and articles for deletion allows discussion to reach consensus for deletion. Eeekster (talk) 08:15, 26 June 2010 (UTC)[reply]

I have nominated Jesse Waits, an article that you created, for deletion. I do not think that this article satisfies Wikipedia's criteria for inclusion, and have explained why at Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Jesse Waits. Your opinions on the matter are welcome at that same discussion page; also, you are welcome to edit the article to address these concerns. Thank you for your time.

Please contact me if you're unsure why you received this message. Herostratus (talk) 02:14, 27 July 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Please cite sources[edit]

Hello, and welcome to Wikipedia! We welcome and appreciate your contributions, such as in Victor Drai, but we regretfully cannot accept original research. Please find and add a reliable citation to your recent edit so we can verify your work. Uncited information may be removed at any time. Thanks for your efforts, and happy editing! Jesse Waits vs Noel Ashman[edit]

Well, in my personal opinion:

  1. Noel Ashman is also not notable and his article should be deleted, but
  2. He's a little bit more notable than the Waits brothers, since he owned Studio 54, which is famous, and other clubs in New York City, which is a more notable place to own clubs than Las Vegas.

Being tagged by Wikiproject Biography doesn't confer any special status, just that the article is indeed a biograpy. In my personal opinion the Waits brothers are just not not notable, and no moving around of the data about them will make them notable. This is my opinion and I may be wrong. If you want to work on the article, create it in your userspace (for instance, here: User:Jpjpstar/Jesse Waits where you can work on it safely and it won't be deleted. Ashman has references in the New York Times and places like that. The New York Times is a very high-profile publication. You need to find references to the Waits in similar pulbications. If you can't, they probably won't be considered notable. But if you construct the article in your userspace you can (for instance) look for other editors who have worked on articles in Category:Nightclub owners and perhaps ask them for assistance and advice. Good luck, Herostratus (talk) 22:23, 11 August 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Just wanted to mention that the images you put onto Wikipedia need to have a very particular kind of license on them and by posting them on Wikipedia, if you are the copyright holder, you may need to agree to release control of that image to some degree.

Brittany Binger article[edit]

Thanks for your recent edits to the Brittany Binger article. I have noticed from some of your posts on user talk pages that you have some issues with the content of that article. Please discuss these issues on the article's talk page, so the editors of that article can note your views. As you have said you are the subject of the article, I suggest you read WP:OWN and WP:AUTO. Some of the information you have removed has been restored, you can see why on the article's talk page. TimofKingsland (talk) 07:20, 23 July 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Your recent editing history at Brittany Binger shows that you are currently engaged in an edit war. Being involved in an edit war can result in you being blocked from editing—especially if you violate the three-revert rule, which states that an editor must not perform more than three reverts on a single page within a 24-hour period. Undoing another editor's work—whether in whole or in part, whether involving the same or different material each time—counts as a revert. Also keep in mind that while violating the three-revert rule often leads to a block, you can still be blocked for edit warring—even if you don't violate the three-revert rule—should your behavior indicate that you intend to continue reverting repeatedly.

To avoid being blocked, instead of reverting please consider using the article's talk page to work toward making a version that represents consensus among editors. See BRD for how this is done. You can post a request for help at a relevant noticeboard or seek dispute resolution. In some cases, you may wish to request temporary page protection.
