Information icon Hello, Juan M.S. Arteaga. We welcome your contributions, but it appears as if your primary purpose on Wikipedia is to add citations to research published by a small group of researchers.

Scientific articles should mainly reference review articles to ensure that the information added is trusted by the scientific community.

Editing in this way is also a violation of the policy against using Wikipedia for promotion and is a form of conflict of interest in Wikipedia – please see WP:SELFCITE and WP:MEDCOI. The editing community considers excessive self-citing to be a form of spamming on Wikipedia (WP:REFSPAM) and the edits will be reviewed and the citations removed where it was not appropriate to add them.

Finally, please be aware that the editing community highly values expert contributors – please see WP:EXPERT. I do hope you will consider contributing more broadly. If you wish to contribute, please first consider citing review articles written by other researchers in your field and which are already highly cited in the literature. If you wish to cite your own research, please start a new thread on the article talk page and add {{requestedit}} to ask a volunteer to review whether or not the citation should be added.

Information icon Hello, and welcome to Wikipedia. You appear to be repeatedly reverting or undoing other editors' contributions at Scientific racism. Although this may seem necessary to protect your preferred version of a page, on Wikipedia this is known as "edit warring" and is usually seen as obstructing the normal editing process, as it often creates animosity between editors. Instead of reverting, please discuss the situation with the editor(s) involved and try to reach a consensus on the talk page.

If editors continue to revert to their preferred version they are likely to lose their editing privileges. This isn't done to punish an editor, but to prevent the disruption caused by edit warring. In particular, editors should be aware of the three-revert rule, which says that an editor must not perform more than three reverts on a single page within a 24-hour period. Edit warring on Wikipedia is not acceptable in any amount, and violating the three-revert rule is very likely to result in loss of your editing privileges. Thank you. Managing a conflict of interest[edit]

Article talk page duplication[edit]

A word of advice. First of all, please sign your messages on talk pages properly; not doing so means a bot has to come by and do it, which can lead to edit conflicts, etc. Four tildes please. Second, don't pick a fight with El C. They're an administrator and they know what they are talking about. Third, making the same argument on multiple talk pages is indeed unhelpful: it means that different discussions on the same content are held in different places. The question also is why the same content should be placed in different articles--Racism in Brazil seems like the best fit to me, but that's by the by.   • Dear Mr. Drmies, I appreciate your good manners and your respectful way to addressing to other editors, which unfortunately are not present neither in El C nor in Mr.Ollie. I suggest both of them get inspired by your way of addressing new editors and abandon their arrogant manners. So, please let me understand: if in order to ask for a third opinion, the issue needs to be discussed on the discussion page, but an administrator systematically removes the content for discussion so you cannot defend your claims, what should I do?     • Your ways are arrogant indeed. Instead of answering my questions to your first claim in your talk-page, considering my arguments, you just repeated your first claim. And instead of letting the possibility of a reply you finish your sentence with " Full stop". You can learn a lot from Drmies. He/she is polite, even when he/she disagrees he/she tries to give some reasons for that. You are arrogant.

  • Juan M.S. Arteaga, the content you wish to have in the article is still there on the one talk page where discussion was taking place. It is also still in the history of the article--experienced editors will know where to look. If the talk page discussion does not progress, a notification on a WikiProject talk page is usually a useful thing to do--they are listed on top of the article talk page. If you go there, you can place a note on the WikiProject's talk page, telling interested editors where they might go for that discussion.     • Thank you Mr Drmies. Your comments are very helpful and give me some hope that it is still worthy trying to edit and contribute to wikipedia. As you can see, instead of giving me good reasons and answering my questions El C has decided that better that just menace me it is better to sanction me, so he blocked me for editing for one day... Of course he is not arrogant at all... I hope most of Wikipedia editors doesn't behave like him. He could learn a lot from you one, May be one day he learns to argue with reasons and dialogue instead of impositions, menacing and denying the possibility of reply and defence. Problem with your custom signature[edit]

You have a custom signature set in your account preferences. A change to Wikipedia's software has made your current custom signature incompatible with the software.

The problem: Your preferences are set to interpret your custom signature as wikitext. However, your current custom signature does not contain any wikitext.

The solutions: You can reset your signature to the default, or you can fix your signature.

Solution 1: Reset your signature to the default:
  1. Find the signature section in the first tab of Special:Preferences.
  2. Uncheck the box (☑︎→☐) that says "Treat the above as wiki markup."
  3. Remove anything in the Signature: text box. (It might already be empty.)
  4. Click the blue "Save" button at the bottom of the page. (The red "Restore all default settings" button will reset all of your preference settings, not just the signature.)
Solution 2: Fix your custom signature:
  1. Find the signature section in the first tab of Special:Preferences.
  2. Uncheck the box (☑︎→☐) that says "Treat the above as wiki markup."
  3. Click the blue "Save" button at the bottom of the page.
