Speedy Deletion Nomination: MediaCuvres

I would like to fix the MediaCurves page I made to stress the technological aspects of their polling techniques, which is their "Curves". How can I ammend this page so that it is not deleted? I used other company pages as a guide but apparently came off as being too promotional. I attempted to site every fact with a website to support what I had said. Please let me know how I can fix this page so it is not deleted. Thank you. Ben

I personally do not believe the article meets Wikipedia's guidelines for notability. If you would like to improve the article, I would recommend finding third-party sources that reference the technology. Also, it is customary on Wikipedia to sign your name on discussion pages by adding "~~~~" to the end. Thanks. Jujutacular (talk) 15:36, 7 July 2009 (UTC)
Thank you for the feedback. I will try to strengthen the notability by finding other sources to support my information. I will also try to change the direction of the content. Please leave the page up so I can work on it. Also, I apologize about the signature problem, I am new to this and was unfamiliar with that custom. Thanks again for your help. --Bentheintern (talk) 15:45, 7 July 2009 (UTC)

Altered Speedy Deletion rationale: Tvmyworld

Hello Jujutacular, and thanks for your work patrolling new changes. I am just informing you that I have deleted a page you tagged (Tvmyworld) under a criterion different from the one your provided, which was inappropriate or incorrect. CSD criteria are narrow and specific to protect the encyclopedia, and the process is more effective if the correct deletion rationale is supplied. Consider reviewing the criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions or problems, please let me know. Thanks again! SoWhy 10:47, 8 July 2009 (UTC)

db-repost only for articles deleted via AfD

Greetings. Technically, I have to decline your request to delete AJC Decatur Book Festival Presented by DeKalb Medical, because it was not deleted via WP:AFD. However, it is still spam, so that's why I'm deleting it. In future, when an article was speedily deleted, recreated, and the speedy delete condition still applies, just retag it with the same speedy tag. —C.Fred (talk) 16:36, 9 July 2009 (UTC)

I actually caught the mistake myself also and changed the tag before you deleted it. Sorry for the trouble, and thank you for following up. Jujutacular (talk) 17:25, 9 July 2009 (UTC)

Serena Business Mashups, incorrect db tag.

Hello Jujutacular, first of all, thank you for your work in the new pages patrol. I noticed that you recently tagged Serena Business Mashups for deletion as an advert, however, the page was not deletable under this criteria, I have replaced that tag with A3. I suggest you thoroughly read WP:CSD. Again, thank you, all the best SpitfireTally-ho! 18:37, 10 July 2009 (UTC)

Thank you for the correction. Jujutacular (talk) 18:38, 10 July 2009 (UTC)
No problem at all, again, I encourage you to read WP:CSD. Thank you for your help, SpitfireTally-ho! 18:39, 10 July 2009 (UTC)

Speedy Deletion Nomination: Heart Media Foundation

Hello Jujutacular. I have not yet understood if my newly created page Heart Media Foundation, has been deleted or not. If it has, because of lack of notability or conflict of interests, how do I correct it? It is new, which means there are no published sources to support it but is the recognized foundation to the already existing company, Heart Media LLC. Would an annual report be enough? Regarding the Conflict of Interests, naturally as the foundation secretary, I was asked to post the article but was neutral in my description. Please explain deletion of page. (Heart Media secretary (talk) 19:41, 10 July 2009 (UTC))

The article you created, Heart Media Foundation has been speedily deleted because of the issue of notability. It did not include any references to third-party sources that would verify its notability. I included the message about conflict of interest because if you are directly connected with the organization (e.g. an employee) you should not be editing that article. If the organization does qualify as being notable, sooner or later someone unaffiliated with it will begin an article about it. By the way, when writing on discussion pages you can automatically sign your name by typing four tildes (~~~~). Jujutacular (talk) 20:29, 10 July 2009 (UTC)

Shakespeare's Villains

Quite right. Sorry, I had not got round to adding the sources, which I have now done. Thanks for the diligence!Captainclegg (talk) 16:31, 13 July 2009 (UTC)

As you can see, I have just re-tidied and seperated the basic 'what is it' from the plays plot. I think that it looks and reads better. Captainclegg (talk) 17:23, 13 July 2009 (UTC)

Thank you for resolving the issue so quickly. Jujutacular (talk) 17:30, 13 July 2009 (UTC)

Mammal Paleogene zones

Sure, I'll do that as soon as I finish what I'm doing. I'm finishing MP 28 right now, there are 30 total. I'll make sure each article mentions its respective Mammal Paleogene spectrum. Thanks for the tip. Bob the Wikipedian (talkcontribs) 20:48, 15 July 2009 (UTC)

I see, thank you. Jujutacular (talk) 20:50, 15 July 2009 (UTC)

Signature

Thanks for your constructive post of 7/16. Out of curiosity, how should I be signing edit summaries?Ijmusic (talk) 10:41, 18 July 2009 (UTC)

Your edit summaries are automatically linked with your username, so you don't need to 'sign' them per se. Take a look at this revision history for Educational Music: here. In your most recent edit you could've just typed "added Wikipedia links", and it will automatically be placed next to your username so everyone knows that you did it. Jujutacular talkcontribs 15:02, 18 July 2009 (UTC)
I appreciate this very much. Each year, my Longy students enjoy the challenge of contributing to Wikipedia. I tell them that Wikipedia is like a covered-dish supper: you bring something, then enjoy the plenty. The analogy resonates because they all use it! Your suggestion helps me help them!Ijmusic (talk) 03:59, 19 July 2009 (UTC)
No problem. If you have any more questions feel free to leave me a message here. Also, a good place to start when you aren't sure about something is Help:Contents. Good luck! Jujutacular talkcontribs 14:52, 19 July 2009 (UTC)

Hi. Any particular reason you thought that this was necessary? Why would you want to change the article to link to the redirect instead of the target page? The Earwig (Talk | Contribs) 20:09, 22 July 2009 (UTC)

I felt this was necessary in case the article is ever expanded to a main article, as opposed to a section of the KBR article. At least that was my reasoning, do you think that isn't appropriate? Jujutacular talkcontribs 20:13, 22 July 2009 (UTC)
Oh, so you intended Brown & Root to link to a specific section of the KBR article? That makes more sense. I thought that Brown & Root was just an alternate name, and therefore changing the link was in violation of WP:R2D, but it seems that nothing is wrong with what you did. Thanks for clarifying that. The Earwig (Talk | Contribs) 20:27, 22 July 2009 (UTC)
No problem! And thank you for being so diligent. Jujutacular talkcontribs 20:33, 22 July 2009 (UTC)

Output

For what it's worth, after you listed the page as "no longer a dab", I removed the dab tag. I'm not sure it should be an article instead of a dab, but as currently constituted, it isn't a disambiguation page. On balance, I think you were right before you self-reverted. Dekimasuよ! 16:02, 23 July 2009 (UTC)

Yeah, I was a little confused. It didn't look at all like a dab, but on second glance I thought it was just a formatting issue. Not sure what to do with that one. Jujutacular talkcontribs 16:07, 23 July 2009 (UTC)

Deletion Nomination: A&A Global Industries

What revisions need to be made to this page in order to prevent deletion? Please let me know. Thank you! VendingMonster (talk) 14:46, 29 July 2009 (UTC)VendingMonster

Review Wikipedia's guidelines on notability: WP:CORP. The subject of an article about a company should have "significant coverage in secondary sources. Such sources must be reliable, and independent of the subject." Right now, it only provides a link to the official website, and 'press-release' type coverage, which do not indicate notability. Jujutacular talkcontribs 14:51, 29 July 2009 (UTC)
How do Northwestern Corporation and Oak Manufacturing have pages that have not been deleted? Both of these pages do not cite any external sources and their pages are still up and active. VendingMonster (talk) 15:03, 29 July 2009 (UTC)
Pending the outcome of A&A Global Industries, I will also be nominating Northwestern Corporation and Oak Manufacturing. From WP:OTHERSTUFF: "it is quite possible that the other article should also be deleted but nobody has noticed it and put it forward for AfD yet." Jujutacular talkcontribs 16:11, 29 July 2009 (UTC)
Several external sources were added. Will this help to keep the page in Wikipedia? If not, let me know. Thank you. VendingMonster (talk) 16:53, 29 July 2009 (UTC)
It certainly won't hurt. I've noted this at the page's entry at AFD. Jujutacular talkcontribs 17:16, 29 July 2009 (UTC)

Requested Edits

Having graciously helped edit Rhythm, Rhyme, Results pages in the past, might you consider helping with the current Requested edits? http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Category:Requested_edits With gratitude for your kind consideration, Ijmusic (talk) 20:30, 29 July 2009 (UTC)

Sure! The listed sources definitely seem enough to contest the proposed deletion. I'll take a closer look within the next 24 hrs (before the prod time is out). Jujutacular talkcontribs 21:04, 29 July 2009 (UTC)
I made some adjustments to the edits and added them to the article. Also I removed the proposed deletion tag. If an editor still thinks that it should be deleted, they may nominate it at articles for deletion, where other Wikipedians will discuss the article's notability. Jujutacular talkcontribs 21:36, 29 July 2009 (UTC)
Thank you for your gracious help.Ijmusic (talk) 03:29, 30 July 2009 (UTC)
Thanks! Shiwsup (talk) 14:21, 30 July 2009 (UTC)

It may not change your opinion, but I found that the article had a history of bad edits and vandalism which were not fixed. She does in fact have multiple awards (at least two, and one nom), which does meet WP:PORNBIO. Further research may establish further notability. Шизомби (talk) 00:32, 31 July 2009 (UTC)

I agree that the article now meets WP:PORNBIO. I have stricken my first comment and added a new one at AFD. Jujutacular talkcontribs 14:27, 31 July 2009 (UTC)

You prodded the original one-sentence article on July 15 diff. It was deleted on July 22 diff. I began recreating a properly sourced artcle on July 23 diff. At my request, the history was merged on July 24 diff. In looking at User:MichaelQSchmidt/sandbox/Black Noon, you might note that the original has gone through some major expansion and changes... including showing it being commercially aired over at least an eleven-year period and the film now being properly attributed to CBS... not ABC. Because of the errors and lack of sourcing in the original article, your prod was proper. I would like to return it to main space, but wanted to get your input. MichaelQSchmidt (talk) 00:33, 31 July 2009 (UTC)

Thank you for vastly improving the article! Sorry I was not able to respond more quickly before the article was moved to the main space, but I agree that it was ready. Great job! Jujutacular talkcontribs 14:17, 31 July 2009 (UTC)
I have realized caution is required before returning any deleted article to mainspace, as concerns must be addressed. So after performing what I believe is a suitable rescue, I make a point of getting input from those involved with earlier concerns. Thanks much for the words of affirmation. MichaelQSchmidt (talk) 19:19, 31 July 2009 (UTC)

Suggesting CSD

Hey, I saw one of your tags for proposed deletion and determined that speedy deletion was more appropriate, as it was a hoax page. You might want to tag such pages using CSD instead of PROD. Thanks! Netalarm 15:09, 31 July 2009 (UTC)

I personally do not believe that the article meets WP:CSD as a "blatant and obvious hoax", as a google search of 'banana phobia' did return a marginal degree of trivial mentions from unreliable sources. I feel that it fails inclusion guidelines through WP:MADEUP. It is fine if you disagree, but thanks for letting me know. Jujutacular talkcontribs 15:16, 31 July 2009 (UTC)

Hello. Just to let you know that your PROD of the above article has been removed. If you want to take it to AFD, I will support you. The JPStalk to me 22:17, 31 July 2009 (UTC)

Thanks for following up! And I just noticed, ttonyb1 already made an entry at AFD. Jujutacular talkcontribs 22:22, 31 July 2009 (UTC)

COOL-ER speedy removal

I'm a complete newb on wikipedia.. so apologies if my first article was not in the right spirit. I did try and follow guidelines. would be very gratefull for any pointers. Thanks --Interead (talk) 15:25, 21 August 2009 (UTC)

At least a couple other editors agreed that the article looked very 'promotional'. Sorry if it seemed a little harsh, we try to be welcoming to new honest editors that simply want to make a better Wikipedia. Your username, which seems to suggest a connection with the product, did not help your case. Are you in any way officially affiliated with the product? If you are, the community would look much higher on you if you stated that openly.
If you do want to create an article for the Cool-er e-Reader, I'd suggest starting it as a subpage of your username. How about at: User:Interead/COOL-ER eReader? From there you can edit without changing the 'mainspace'. Then I can take a look at it and provide feedback for your work. Let me know what you think. Jujutacular talkcontribs 15:42, 21 August 2009 (UTC)
I am associated with the cooler and interead ltd, was not trying to hide it at all - whenever I comment on blogs etc always state that I am! did not know that was appropriate here but tried to imply it by having the same username! The mainspace page I created was from an other article which mentioned the cooler (I think... sorry again for my newb knowledge) so I presumed that was the right place to do it. I will certainly take up your advice of writing a new article User:Interead/Cool-er e-Reader and would really appreciate your feedback. Many thanks --Interead (talk) 15:54, 21 August 2009 (UTC)
The mainspace is the correct place for the article when it's ready. I just thought you should put it in the userspace to get feedback first. About your username: yes it is inappropriate. Take a look at WP:ORGNAME. Usernames should represent you, and only you. I'm sorry about all the hassle. All these guidelines really do exist to make a better Wikipedia. Jujutacular talkcontribs 16:08, 21 August 2009 (UTC)

one last question for today.. Username, again because I don't want to be seen as hiding anything..! But should I change it with this login (can I do this?) or should I create a new login? Interead (talk) 16:13, 21 August 2009 (UTC)

You should create a completely new username. Just let me know that it's you when you do, and I can help you more. Jujutacular talkcontribs 16:15, 21 August 2009 (UTC)

Cool, will do that. thanks for your help. Interead (talk) 16:16, 21 August 2009 (UTC)

Removal of PROD from Sellsumerism

Hello Jujutacular, this is an automated message from SDPatrolBot to inform you the PROD template you added to Sellsumerism has been removed. It was removed by Christy Chung with the following edit summary '(no edit summary)'. Please consider discussing your concerns with Christy Chung before pursuing deletion further yourself. If you still think the article should be deleted after communicating with the 'dePRODer,' you may want to send the article to AfD for community discussion. speedy for Rotec Engineering?

Hey Jujutacular, you proposed speedy deletion for Rotec Engineering, and it's not much of a stub, I agree. However, two of their engines do have articles. Wouldn't it be better to merge those two into the manufacturer's article and leave redirects? If the engines are moderately notable, then the company is also, in my mind, but I'm not going to spend any effort on it while there's a speedy tag on the article. Thanks, Drmies (talk) 15:06, 6 August 2009 (UTC)

The two engine articles (Rotec R2800 and Rotec R3600) do not seem significant either in my opinion. They were both created in the past month. Collectively, they have three edits and zero reliable sources. Jujutacular talkcontribs 15:13, 6 August 2009 (UTC)

I have trumped your PROD with a db-g3 (blatant hoax/misinformation). We have a List of earldoms article which has no mention of it, and a total absence of any Google result seems to me conclusive. I don't think we need to let this hang around for seven days (though an admin may not agree). Well spotted - it's greatly to WP's credit that this got tagged within an hour! Regards, JohnCD (talk) 21:15, 22 August 2009 (UTC)

Thanks! I was looking for something like a List of earldoms, but was too unfamiliar with the subject to find it and thus call it a blatant hoax. Jujutacular talkcontribs 23:35, 22 August 2009 (UTC)

I'm taking a crack at seeing if Derek & Simon can meet Wikipedia:Notability (web). It started out as a TV pilot back in 2005, but what aired on Super Deluxe was a webisode. So that's where I will focus. Any input will be most appreciated. MichaelQSchmidt (talk) 10:34, 31 August 2009 (UTC)
