Please do not add inappropriate external links to Wikipedia. Wikipedia is not a mere directory of links nor should it be used for advertising or promotion. Inappropriate links include (but are not limited to) links to personal web sites, links to web sites with which you are affiliated, and links that exist to attract visitors to a web site or promote a product. See the external links guideline and spam policies for further explanations of links that are considered appropriate. If you feel the link should be added to the article, then please discuss it on the article's talk page rather than re-adding it. See the welcome page to learn more about Wikipedia. Thank you. Mwanner, please accept my apology. I thought the External links were for information relevent to the subject. So please help me understand this right. The external links are only for sites that contribute to the main body of the article? If that is the case no problem! I am a magazine outdoor writer and professional angler. That is why you may have only seen me in the fishing sections. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Justafishermen (talkcontribs)
Please read Wikipedia's External links guidelines. Basically, Wikipedia is not a link farm. Links should only be added if they have valuable information that does not belong in the article itself. If the information in the link does belong it the article, it should be re-written (to avoid copyright issues) and added to the article. In general, articles should have very few links, because very few links fit these criteria. The idea is that we want our articles to be the best possible source of information on a topic, not a short article followed by a long list of links to other articles. Further, www.AnglingFanatics.com doesn't really appear to be a very rich source of information; compare it to the links already in place.
We would be delighted to have you contribute to the contents of our articles. Happy editing! -- Mwanner | Talk 13:54, 24 December 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks for taking the time to clear that up Mwanner! I'm still trying to figure out how to create a whole new page for new articles and as soon as I do I'll get started on providing some rich content. -John

That's easy enough-- just enter the name you want the article to have in the Search box and click Go. You'll get a message that reads "No page with that title exists. You can create this page or request it." Click on create this page, and you're presented with a blank page to work on. You might want to start with the Tutorial link in the welcome message, above. Have fun! -- Mwanner | Talk 16:43, 24 December 2006 (UTC)[reply]
