Whitman/McCoy controversy

If you recall, Wales did away with the McCoy article awhile back. He did it at the request of a family member. To expand McCoy's role will only re-open old debates. Please re-consider this and act accordingly. Thanks! 98.94.163.97 (talk) 00:24, 5 November 2010 (UTC)

British spellings

This is a reminder that articles about British subjects always bear British spellings. Quotes are irrelevant as the spellings are adjusted to each country. This explains why Harry Potter book titles are in American English in American book stores. Steelbeard1 (talk) 16:07, 15 November 2010 (UTC)

Intentional DAB Links

I started to read your piece and wasn't sure, until the third sentence, which side of the argument it was going to support! And even then, "the short answer is..." suggests that a longer answer might be different. (OK, not logical when I think it through, but in fast reading it could have that effect). The sentence "It is a reasonable question—it does seem to serve no purpose." could perhaps benefit from "at first sight" added before "it does"?

Perhaps the first section needs to be something like:

"Yes, there is a good reason for linking to a disambiguation page Foo through a redirect from Foo (disambiguation). Please don't change the link to avoid the redirect. Now read on for further information."

... but in colour or large font or whatever, so that it catches the attention of someone who might otherwise ignore continuous text in paragraphs!
