VTA Light Rail and the term "subway"
When referring to the template options for WikiProject Trains on talk pages, the parameter "subway=yes" marks the page as part of the descendent Rapid Transit WikiProject. This could include surface or underground lines, light or heavy rail, or even a bus or monorail-based rapid transit system. The term "subway" is confusing and is possibly a leftover from the early days of the project when it mainly or exclusively covered subways. By their very nature, most if not all light rail projects are likely to come under the blanket category of rapid transit -=# Amos E Wolfe talk #=- 21:53, 11 January 2016 (UTC)
