After cleaning up some articles based on Franz Kurowski over in Russian Wikipedia (thanks to your work!), I can only imagine how exhausting (as far as writing about Nazis goes) your contributions must be over the years. Looking for your advice[edit]

Hello K.e.coffman! I would like to ask about your opinion - since you spent a lot of time and efforts evaluating the credibility of sources using in Second World War-related articles. I was thinking about writting an article but it seems that the key source in this case will be the book of Rolf Hinze. In your opinion, is he a credible author? Hi @Dreamcatcher25: I personally would not use this book. Motorbuch-Verlag [de] is known to me as a publisher of hobbyist / war-romancing literature; this is not a serious publisher. I'm not familiar with this author, who appears to be quite obscure. Here are some of the books available in English: Rolf Hinze. The titles speak for themselves: "East Front Drama"; "To the Bitter End"; "Courage of Desperation" -- that's full-on Lost Cause of the Confederacy right there. There's so much of scholarly literature available on the German-Soviet war that such books are not needed. Hope this helps. --K.e.coffman (talk) 16:16, 12 February 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Thank you both. To be more specific... in his "East Front Drama 1944" Hinze described the alleged massacre of few thousand wounded German soldiers by Red Army in Babruysk, during the Bobruysk offensive of 1944. Initially I was quite trustful, since it was mentioned also in other sources - at least some of them seems to be credible enough[3]][4]. However, when I dig deeper, in all cases Hinze shown to be the the primary source for this story. Taking that into account, I will hold my horses. Rommel Myth on Simple English Wikipedia[edit]

Hello, I had a look at the Simple English Wikipedia page for Erwin Rommel, and it seems to be very pro-Rommel, saying "Soldiers captured by his army were treated well and orders to kill captured Jewish soldiers and civilians were ignored." and "The Afrika Korps was never accused of any war crimes". It's quite a sensitive topic, and something I'm not remotely qualified to write about, I was hoping you'd be able to lend a hand? I've been told you're brilliant with combatting this kind of pro-Nazi standpoint on Wikipedia. I don't want to cause you any bother, and if you don't have time that's understandable, but if you'd be able to take a look at some point, It'd be a great help. Many thanks for your work so far,
