Wiki-markup[edit]

Hello. There are several ways to mark up your text using Wiki. It is very similar to HTML. One way is to click on one of the pictograms or icons on the top of the page that appear when you click on the tab marked "edit this page". Another way is to "copy and paste" any one of the symbols on the bottom of this page. Please remember to sign your posts by typing four tildes (~~~~). Enfacto[edit]

Hi, thanks for your comment on my talk page. I was, more specifically, wondering if the site had any state case law on it, particularly New Jersey, Pennsylvania, and California. Do you know if the owners of the site will be adding state court cases anytime soon? I ask mainly because getting free access to state cases on the internet is virtually impossible, even now. (Well, there's always Findlaw, but if you sign up for an account with them, they spam the crap out of you.) --Eastlaw (talk) 05:08, 24 September 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Suggestions[edit]

Hi, good work contacting the law WikiProject and sparking the creation of a useful template. So I had welcomed you and left a note about linkspam (having noticed you had added links to some Oregon-related caselaw), but you blanked the page, and someone else welcomed you, perhaps not noticing you were already welcomed. If you would prefer to keep your page blank, what many people do is archive their talk pages instead of blanking them. This also makes it easier for other editors to see what has been discussed with you. Folks also tend to leave the welcome template at the top of the page for reference and to fend off further welcoming! You can read more about talk pages here: Help:Talk pages. It's also good if you would use edit summaries. BTW, I see that before you went to the WikiProject, you reverted a bunch of A.B.'s edits as you did here. This is usually known as edit warring, and will not win you friends on Wikipedia. If someone removes your edits, especially an experienced editor like A.B., it's best to start a dialog instead of simply reverting. Hopefully, that issue has been resolved, however. Finally, if you wish to simplify your work adding the caselaw links, you might look into using Auto Wiki Browser. Cheers! Katr67 (talk) 18:44, 18 September 2008 (UTC)[reply]

P.S. I see in this discussion that A.B. said to go ahead and remove the warnings from your page, but a welcome isn't a warning! :) Again thanks for starting a dialog. My reports to WP:SPAM are not indicative that I've made up my mind about the user or the link, mostly they are to alert other editors of a potential problem. People who seem to only be adding external links to articles do set off our spam alarms. From now on if anyone questions what you are doing, be sure to point them to the discussion at WikiProject Law. P.P.S. I'm not fond of Thomson West either... You appear to be eligible to vote in the current Arbitration Committee election. The Arbitration Committee is the panel of editors responsible for conducting the Wikipedia arbitration process. It has the authority to enact binding solutions for disputes between editors, primarily related to serious behavioural issues that the community has been unable to resolve.
