Walt Disney World[edit]

I'm new to Wikipedia...

I've a great interest in Walt Disney World (having just applied for a position there next summer), Scouting, and computers.

Enjoy!

I am a 2004 WDWCP alumni, let me know if you get the internship. Shifter55 17:31, 14 November 2005 (UTC)[reply]

Well, actually, being from the ol' Republic of Ireland, I've applied for the International College Program. Only get 3 months there instead of the year, but something's better than nothing, I suppose!

I'm keeping a close eye on the International Program page and am making any updates I can.

Hey KC, I will also be down in Orlando in Jan 06' working PT/FT for Disney. If you want to keep in touch, email me at shifter55@gmail.com and I will come visit you in The Commons. Shifter55 20:51, 19 December 2005 (UTC)[reply]

Paul Mooney (blogger)[edit]

I reverted your {nn-bio} tag on Paul Mooney with this edit summary:

(Removing speedy tag. I totally see your thinking, but the Paul Mooney RfC will not resolve unless this page goes through AfD. See User:Calton's comment on the talk page. Let's give this until 21st)

The ANON claiming to be Paul Mooney (blogger) constantly asserts his notability here. I think Calton has the right approach to this. If he doesn't AfD I'll step in and do so. AndyJones 16:04, 18 December 2005 (UTC)[reply]

Hi, I originally created the page out of the content dispute on the Paul Mooney page, and invited the original author of the article to edit it and bring it up to standard, and I was going to bring it up for AfD in a week if he didn't. (turned out others had the same idea). The article is definitely a speedy candidate (and I'm surprised it took 5 days for someone to list it), but since the original author claims he is notable, it needs to go through AfD. It will be posted as such in one to two days. — TheKMantalk 21:35, 18 December 2005 (UTC)[reply]

J7[edit]

Actually, that's just somebody catching up from yesterday--J7 should still be blocked for another 24 hrs. We'll see how he behaves after that; he's made some legitimate contributions so hopefully yesterday's rampage was just an aberration. If you see any more trouble from him though, let me know and I'm on it... --Dvyost 06:44, 19 December 2005 (UTC)[reply]

  • My bad! Thanks! KC. 06:46, 19 December 2005 (UTC)[reply]

I am interested to note that you have listed my new article on this group for 'speedy deletion'. I am sorry that you feel the group is unimportant; maybe I could throw some light on why I have chosen to add them, as I have added a number of American artists and groups of Mexican heritage. I should point out that I am not American or Mexican myself, that I have no commercial interest in promoting or advertising such groups or artists, but that the artists I am creating articles for do all have a certain significance in their genre. In the case of this group, they are a rarity among mariachi groups in that they are an all-female group (I myself am male, by the way, lest it be thought that I am somehow promoting feminist causes here) in a genre almost exclusively dominated by men. The only other significant all-female mariachi, about which I also plan to create an article shortly, is the Mariachi Reyna de Los Angeles. I hope you will be able to see your way clear to please remove your listing of this article for speedy deletion, once you have assessed this perspective. Many thanks! -- Ishel99 00:28, 20 December 2005 (UTC)[reply]

Replied there
Thanks for your reply on my talk page. I agree that being female per se is not a criteria for inclusion, but being female in a field where that is a rarity seems to me to be notable in itself. For example, female astronauts have been considered noteworthy at a time when there were few. In Hispanic culture there are still many with very traditional attitudes towards the place of women, and the same reasoning informed my creation of an article on Yolanda Perez, a female rarity in the male-dominated world of banda. Well, we'll wait and see where it goes from here... thanks again! -- Ishel99 00:47, 20 December 2005 (UTC)[reply]

A little too quick with the speedy there. I removed the tag and fixed the article. It is part of filling out some pages on Catholic newspapers and movements. Happy New Year. Dominick (TALK) 17:39, 31 December 2005 (UTC)[reply]

You do realize that Submarine Voyage redirects to Finding Nemo Submarine Voyage, right? That's why I changed the link in the Disneyland article. Alyssa3467 21:11, 6 February 2006 (UTC)[reply]

WDWCP Housing articles[edit]

Hey KC., I was wondering of you could take a look at the housing pages for the WDWCP and see if you can help fix them so that they will not be deleted. I would, but Disney is keeping me very busy these days and I haven't the time.

Thanks, Shifter55 03:35, 9 March 2006 (UTC)[reply]

WP:CVU status[edit]

The Wikipedia:Counter-Vandalism Unit project is under consideration to be moved to {{inactive}} and/or {{historical}} status. Another proposal is to delete or redirect the project. You have been identified as a project member and your input as to this matter would be welcomed at WT:CVU#Inactive.3F and at the deletion debate. Thank you!
