The article Sekute™ has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:

Neologism containing the ™ character.

While all contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, content or articles may be deleted for any of several reasons.

You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{dated prod}} notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the article's talk page.

Please consider improving the article to address the issues raised. Removing {{dated prod}} will stop the proposed deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. The speedy deletion process can result in deletion without discussion, and articles for deletion allows discussion to reach consensus for deletion.  Blanchardb -MeMyEarsMyMouth- timed 14:37, 19 April 2010 (UTC)[reply]

This article has been moved to sekute. It will still be deleted as it is a non-notable neologism. Please note the various reasons this may be deleted. - UtherSRG (talk) 15:35, 19 April 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Speedy deletion nomination of Sekute[edit]

A tag has been placed on Sekute requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section G12 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article appears to be a clear copyright infringement. For legal reasons, we cannot accept copyrighted text or images borrowed from other web sites or printed material, and as a consequence, your addition will most likely be deleted. You may use external websites as a source of information, but not as a source of sentences. This part is crucial: say it in your own words.

If the external website belongs to you, and you want to allow Wikipedia to use the text — which means allowing other people to modify it — then you must verify that externally by one of the processes explained at Wikipedia:Donating copyrighted materials. If you are not the owner of the external website but have permission from that owner, see Wikipedia:Requesting copyright permission. You might want to look at Wikipedia's policies and guidelines for more details, or ask a question here.

If you think that this notice was placed here in error, you may contest the deletion by adding {{hangon}} to the top of the page that has been nominated for deletion (just below the existing speedy deletion or "db" tag), coupled with adding a note on the talk page explaining your position, but be aware that once tagged for speedy deletion, if the page meets the criterion, it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the page that would render it more in conformance with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. How is it copyright infringement when its the word I created? The external website does belong to me and I would allow Wikipedia to use the text. But that would be just for Wikipedia, correct? (KKutie (talk) 23:03, 19 April 2010 (UTC))[reply]

I have replied to your message on my talk page, but I will also respond here if I may:
  1. The website which the text was copied from clearly shows that it is under copyright. With respect, we have no evidence that you have any connection with the website/company - in theory, anyone could say that! We have ways to verify that you are the copyright owner, but as neither the phrase or the company meet Wikipedia's Notability Guidelines (or Wikipedia's notability guidelines for companies and organisations), then even with the copyright owner's permission to use the text, an article would be deleted
  2. Even if permission was granted for Wikipedia to use the text, it could then be used by anyone for any purpose (including commercial) as per the licenses we use here at Wikipedia (CC-BY-SA 3.0 and GFDL - there is no such thing as "Wikipedia-only" release.
  3. "its the word I created" - this is the definition of a neologism! I looked for press coverage of the term, and the only place I could find was at the company's website and social networking sites. Unless it is a commonly-used phrase, it would not meet the criteria for inclusion on Wikipedia.
Until there is coverage of the company in reliable and independent sources, it would not meet the notability criteria for inclusion on Wikipedia. -- PhantomSteve/talk|contribs\ 12:02, 20 April 2010 (UTC)[reply]

New Text

Thanx for getting back to me. I pretty much understand the guide lines now. But just for future reference until the phrase is more used in commerce or worldwide it won't be consider for wikipedia, correct? (KKutie (talk) 13:08, 20 April 2010 (UTC))[reply]

Basically, yes! Although it's not quite that simple - as many phrases don't have articles on their own - they tend to be part of another article.

I noticed that your username may not meet Wikipedia's username policy because it appears to be the name of a company or organisation. If you believe that your username does not violate our policy, please leave a note here explaining why. As an alternative, you may file for a change of username. Thank you.

  • Please note that an account can only be used by one person.
Wikipedia's Username policy says Explicit use of a name or url of a company, group or product as a username is not permitted. Your username should represent you. Accounts that represent an entire group or company are not permitted.
It also says here User accounts can only represent individuals. Sharing an account – or the password to an account – with others is not permitted, and doing so will result in the account being blocked.

This account has been blocked indefinitely from editing Wikipedia because your username, KKutie, does not meet our username policy.

Your username is the only reason for this block. You are welcome to choose a new username (see below).

A username should not be promotional, related to a "real-world" group or organization, misleading, offensive, or disruptive. Also, usernames may not end in the word "bot" unless the account is an approved bot account.

You are encouraged to choose a new account name that meets our policy guidelines. Alternatively, if you have already made edits and you wish to keep your existing contributions under a new name, then you may request a change in username by:

  1. Adding {{unblock-un|your new username here}} on your user talk page. You should be able to do this even though you are blocked, as you can usually still edit your own talk page. If not, you may wish to contact the blocking administrator by clicking on "E-mail this user" on their talk page.
  2. At an administrator's discretion, you may be unblocked for 24 hours to file a request.
  3. Please note that you may only request a name that is not already in use, so please check here for a listing of already taken names. The account is created upon acceptance, thus do not try to create the new account before making the request for a name change. For more information, please see Wikipedia:Changing username.
If you feel that you were blocked in error, you may appeal this block by adding below this notice the text {{unblock|Your reason here}}, but you should read our guide to appealing blocks first. -- Cirt (talk) 17:35, 8 October 2010 (UTC)[reply]
