Nevado

I've conducted a large-scale copyedit, I would appreciate it if you could tell me if there is anything that too closely follows the source. Ceran →(cheerchime →carol) 14:05, 10 January 2009 (UTC)

Thank you for the message. I have been away but should be able to look at it this weekend. Kablammo (talk) 14:17, 16 January 2009 (UTC)

Hello, would you mind revisiting the FAC for the above. The lead has now been expanded considerably. Other comments welcome. Ceoil (talk) 14:54, 11 January 2009 (UTC)

While I still think there is unnecessary detail on the wreck, I am glad to see that the other aspects have been addressed. My comments were not an "oppose" so they should not impede promotion. I will look at it in more detail this weekend. Kablammo (talk) 14:17, 16 January 2009 (UTC)

History of evolutionary thought TFAR

History of evolutionary thought has now been nominated at Wikipedia:Today's featured article/requests for Darwin day (Feb 12). Since this was, I believe, originally your idea, you might want to comment. Rusty Cashman (talk) 18:04, 12 January 2009 (UTC)

Thank you. I of course will support it, and will add my comments soon. Kablammo (talk) 14:17, 16 January 2009 (UTC)

North American Fur Trade

Well, I suppose I can. Most of what I've written so far is based on Innis' Fur Trade in Canada so I suppose I can add the in-line cites. I guess I better do it sooner while this is all still fresh in my head than wait. Also, my interest is in the Canadian Fur Trade so I'll be jumping around a bit concentrating on those parts of the article. I've also decided it might be best to focus on political and economic aspects under the time and place headings while focusing on the social and cultural aspects of the fur trade under the later "Social and Cultural Impact" heading- Just a thought on organization. The Random Acts of Kindness Barnstar
Thanks, your act of kindness is much appreciated. Ohconfucius (talk) 05:10, 21 January 2009 (UTC)

...finally has a good geologic map! And there are plenty more where it came from - MN Geological Survey has all of their maps in the public domain now. I left a link on the article's talk page.

Figured I'd let you know since you seem to have been the #1 driving force behind the article :)

Awickert (talk) 08:03, 24 January 2009 (UTC)

Sorry about accidentally moving the lead - I'm clearly having a day of idiocy. Awickert (talk) 21:22, 24 January 2009 (UTC)
We'll have to alternate our respective moments of focus and lapses! Kablammo (talk) 21:32, 24 January 2009 (UTC)
I hope so - thanks! Awickert (talk) 22:29, 24 January 2009 (UTC)

You currently appear to be engaged in an edit war according to the reverts you have made on Leon Feldhandler. Note that the three-revert rule prohibits making more than three reversions on a single page within a 24 hour period. Additionally, users who perform a large number of reversions in content disputes may be blocked for edit warring, even if they do not technically violate the three-revert rule. If you continue, you may be blocked from editing. Please do not repeatedly revert edits, but use the talk page to work towards wording and content that gains a consensus among editors. If necessary, pursue dispute resolution. —200.193.129.125 (talk) 12:35, 24 January 2009 (UTC)

Actually it is you and another IP address that are engaged in removing sourced content from articles in order to assert a particular position. I have no "horse in this race" other than a desire to ensure that wikipedia content is supported by reliable sources. Please refrain from advancing your beliefs by removing sourced content from wikipedia. Instead, if you disagree with what others have added to an article, take it to their talk page, or the article talk page, but do not gut an article of sourced content simply because you disagree with it. I have answered further on your talk page, and suggested that, if you have sources for your position, that you add it to the article, so that both positions are represented. Kablammo (talk) 13:23, 24 January 2009 (UTC)

We do not know whether Feldhandler was shot because he was Jewish. Do not create impression here, that Jews were shot on sight and at will by Poles. Feldhandler article is a typical attempt to make Poles anti-Semites. On numerous occasions I have observed here how important it seems to many to underestimate Polish effort in saving Jewish lives and how much it pleases same persons to exaggerate Polish Antisemitism. Obviously, we do not want it. I hope we work something out. Thanks.200.193.129.125 (talk) 14:02, 24 January 2009 (UTC)

I can't speak to the merits of the respective positions but do not doubt the sincerity of those on both sides. There is no doubt that non-Jewish Poles did save Jewish lives, and many thousands are recognized as Righteous among the Nations, comprising the largest single nationality of that honoured group. See Polish Righteous among the Nations.
I'm concerned however that your removal of cited text may not only result in your blocking (and there is an assumption among many that unregistered users are vandals or POV-pushers, so you have that to overcome already), but also in the removal of a legitimate position. Please consider restoring already-cited text which you have deleted, adding your own text and sources (as you have done), and discussing it on the article talk page. I will be leaving this area now, but please, discuss on the article talk page. I've already posted there. Regards, Kablammo (talk) 14:10, 24 January 2009 (UTC)

Thanks.200.193.129.125 (talk) 16:18, 24 January 2009 (UTC)

I don't mean to show off, but I may in fact have outdone myself this time. Just need some photos. ChildofMidnight (talk) 03:25, 30 January 2009 (UTC)

Truly a valuable addition to Wikipedia. If Wikipedia can have FACs about "canonical" episodes of transient television shows and no-longer extant rural roads, surely there is a place for articles such as this, on what is, after all, one of the essential food groups. It could be a sweet and satisfying conclusion to a full plate of articles on church basement cuisine.
I'd give you a "barnstar" but sensible folk know that sides of barns are for Coca-Cola signs, not frivolous decorations.
Gotta go now-- hotdish is waiting, and I can't have a bar unless I clean my plate. Kablammo (talk) 14:50, 30 January 2009 (UTC)

I suppose this wild rice edit [1] might have stood if it had a citation? ChildofMidnight (talk) 20:38, 18 February 2009 (UTC)

Perhaps this would suffice? The editor may have been sampling the product. Kablammo (talk) 04:45, 20 February 2009 (UTC)
Cool link. Who would have suspected that those who imbibe large amounts of grape juice that's gone off (fermented), and the liquids from soggy fermented grains, could come up with something so kooky? Makes pistachio salad seem like a good idea. I'm sticking with root beer and lemonade. ChildofMidnight (talk) 06:15, 20 February 2009 (UTC)

I just added cookie salad. Another important food and culture item. ChildofMidnight (talk) 04:49, 19 March 2009 (UTC)

Map

hey hey. All is going well with me. Work, kids, and video games are keeping me busy. I'm sure the bug will bite me again soon enough. Feel free to replace me map, it's ugly as hell. :) -Ravedave (talk) 03:43, 30 January 2009 (UTC)

Saxbe fix

Would you take the time to note whether your concerns have been addressed at WP:FAC. Four editors have gotten involved in cleaning the article up.--TonyTheTiger (t/c/bio/WP:CHICAGO/WP:LOTM) 20:36, 5 February 2009 (UTC)

Will revisit when editing activity slows and consensus is achieved on matter discussed on talk page. Kablammo (talk) 05:21, 6 February 2009 (UTC)

Hi; I remade this article. Black Tusk (talk) 21:04, 7 March 2009 (UTC)

Minn-e-sota

Kabs, if you're free at the end of August I'd appreciate it if you could head over to the Stone Creek Potluck & Muic Jamboree [2], [3] and [4]. They're "vying for The Guinness Book World's Largest Pot-Luck so bring a dish to pass & a chair to relax". It may also set a record for the most Minnesota nice. A friend informs me it offers one of the largest hotdish assemblages known to humankind, but I had no idea that they were going for a WORLD RECORD until I read that just now. I expect there will be plenty of glorified rice, cookie salad, pistachio salad, lefse, lutefisk (one hopes) and dessert bars, and we can use some good original research and photographs for these important article subjects. What are you going to bring? I almost forgot to mention that the event also includes Bobby Bare & The Chmieleski Fun Time Polka Band and "Much, Much, More". Best let the Jorgensons know you're coming. Uff da. ChildofMidnight (talk) 19:41, 21 April 2009 (UTC)
