Speedy deletion nomination of Elizabeth Lang[edit]

Blake 7 episodes[edit]

I've deleted your edits to the Blake's 7 episodes because the plot summaries are called "summaries" for a reason - they shouldn't be more than a paragraph in size. You are making them overly wordy. You are also adding your personal opinions to the summaries and Wikipedia is not a place for your personal thoughts on the matter. Read Wikipedia:Neutral point of view. Re: Deletion of Blakes 7 additions[edit]

Actually, I had done a majority of the writing since i began editing it in 2006, but that's like 5 years ago and it's been picked at and gnawed on quite a bit since then by a plethora of editors. I just try to keep it cleaned up. Just know that the purpose of the article is to list the episodes as they aired, some production info, like who starred in it, yadda yadda, and to give a brief description of what happened in each one and that's all it needs to do. Yes it could be written better, but a complete discussion of the shows moral implications is something for an off-site discussion forum fan page somewhere. I'm not going to get in a lengthy argument over the show because I have better things to do, like sleep, and I'm not really in Blake's 7 nerd mode right now, but I must say though, after reading some of your write ups I wonder if perhaps you are watching an entirely different version of the show as your "facts" seemed more than a bit skewed.

They are not as I remembered them and I actually watched the show all the way through quite recently because I found a file share of them so the memories are kind of fresh. For example the episode where the crew get sick from radiation poisoning on Cephelon, you say Blake forces Avon to research Orac. I remember Avon walking on the flight deck, ready to plop down in the lounge and Blake asks him to watch the video of the shuttle explosion and to see if he sees anything unusual. Afterward Avon gets light headed and said he was just tired. Blake didn't tell him to research Orac - how could he anyway since Orac was top secret and Blake didn't even know what Orac was because he hadn't seen it yet. That's just the way I remember it going down.

There are a couple of other details that didn't jive with me, but I'd have to go back and rewatch the show to see what actually happens before I cry foul.

Anyway, in closing, you realize that Blake was really more or less an anti-hero who just wanted revenge upon the Federation and he had a crew composed of criminals who were all pretty much interested in themselves. I think the episode list does an okay job making that point as it stood before your edits. If you think you can fix it go ahead. Cyberia23 (talk) 05:34, 12 November 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Do what you think you need to, just keep descriptions down to a minimum (a short paragraph will do), avoid extraneous detail, stick to easily verifiable facts and avoid personal opinions and their shouldn't be problems. Hello. In case you didn't know, when you add content to talk pages and Wikipedia pages that have open discussion, you should sign your posts by typing four tildes ( ~~~~ ) at the end of your comment. You could also click on the signature button or located above the edit window. This will automatically insert a signature with your username or IP address and the time you posted the comment. Blake's 7 edits[edit]

Go ahead and do your edits as you would, I will try and help where I can, maybe come by later and do some editing when I have time. Overall I'd avoid making characters look good/bad in the episodes as you may consider adding the details of their roles to the character's individual articles rather than the episode entries and just point out the episodes those details play out. Don't forget that Kerr Avon, Roj Blake, Jenna Stannis, Vila Restal etc... all have pages of their own. Cyberia23 (talk) 07:48, 12 November 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Does that mean that I can remove some references in the original article that makes Blake look good and uses negative references for Avon?

If you think they are biased and non-NPOV (neutral point-of-view) then yes, they should be changed. By the way, someone else deleted your edits on the main B7 article. You may want to discuss it with them, or they could undo your edits again. Edit suggestion[edit]

You should make your edits and preview what they look like before you actually post them to the Wiki. Making dozens of edits like you've been doing can annoy some users because it makes it difficult to se what you are changing. And in my case – I have it set up so when someone messages me on my talk page I get an email. I received 27 emails, one for each time you made an edit. Clicking the "Show Preview" button will show you what the edit will look like before it's posted. It's right next to the "Save Page" button which actually posts the edit. Likewise "Show Changes" shows the change in the code instead of the edit. Cyberia23 (talk) 21:12, 12 November 2011 (UTC)[reply]
