Gopal Chandra Mukhopadhyay[edit]

This page has been deleted on English wikipedia after this discussion.

You created this page on Gujarati Wikipedia.[1]

Can you request deletion for it? Editorkamran (talk) 19:55, 16 February 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Please do that in Gujarati Wikipedia and start the discussion. -- Kartik Mistry talk 03:14, 17 February 2023 (UTC)[reply]
What do you want me to do?
I don't understand Gujarati.
You can request deletion of the page you created on your own. Editorkamran (talk) 14:21, 17 February 2023 (UTC)[reply]
Page deleted in English Wikipedia doesn't mean it has to be deleted in other Wikipedia. I'll have to read discussion and decide if it is worth to delete to start the discussion. I should do that in next week mostly. Please wait till that. -- Kartik Mistry talk 14:48, 17 February 2023 (UTC)[reply]
Its been more than a month. Can you get it deleted already? Editorkamran (talk) 11:36, 23 March 2023 (UTC)[reply]
As I said, English Wikipedia can't enforce their discussed policy in every Wikipedia. @Aniket, @Dsvyas - do you see any valid reason for doing this? -- Kartik Mistry talk 11:53, 23 March 2023 (UTC)[reply]
Absolutely not. Articles in Gujarati Wikipedia are not always a mirror copy or mere translation of en.wiki pages. Something deleted from en.wiki doesn't automatically qualify for deletion on gu.wiki, unless it is a global spam, which doesn't seem to be case here. As User:KartikMistry suggested, you are free to start discussion on gu.wiki providing reason for deletion, but please read/review the article there first.-- DhavalTalk 12:54, 23 March 2023 (UTC)[reply]
Where is the process for deletion written on Gujarati Wikipedia? Editorkamran (talk) 06:32, 28 March 2023 (UTC)[reply]
You can start discussion on the relevant article's talk page. -- Kartik Mistry talk 06:36, 28 March 2023 (UTC)[reply]
You go to talk page and say "I want this page deleted because ___". That's it? Editorkamran (talk) 13:14, 29 March 2023 (UTC)[reply]
Obviously, with valid reasons and rationale, not only because it was deleted in enwp. -- Kartik Mistry talk 13:46, 29 March 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Removed information on 2019 Indian general election in Gujarat page without any reason[edit]

Hello Karthik

You have removed my edit in 2019 Indian general election in Gujarat page which i did on 1st march. I had given the authantic source as ECI general election candidates list but you still removed my edit citing " additions without and reliable references".

Here is my authentic refrence link https://eci.gov.in/files/file/10011-list-of-contesting-candidates-for-the-third-phase-of-elections-form-7a/ which i had provided on the page too.

Could you please explain why you did that without going through given refrences first? Jatin1219 (talk) 07:20, 2 March 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Sorry, this reference seems missed. I've restored that. Other information you added seems specific to unknown party, which we generally don't add in the article than major party candidate. -- Kartik Mistry talk 08:37, 2 March 2023 (UTC)[reply]
The section i added information in was about contesting candidates. All the information i added was the names of those candidates who contested the election along with suitable and authantic refrences.
Could you please specify the Wikipedia policy that refrains me from adding the names of candidates of unrecognised political parties on election pages? If there is no such WP policy then i request you to please restore my whole edit.
Thanks Jatin1219 (talk) 09:05, 2 March 2023 (UTC)[reply]
Notability. -- Kartik Mistry talk 09:19, 2 March 2023 (UTC)[reply]
WP:NP applies on creation of new and individual wikipedia article/page. It is mentioned in policy page itself(https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wikipedia:Notability) that "The notability guideline does not apply to the contents of articles".
The names of candidates that contested in 2019 General elections is a spacific content of 2019 Indian general elections article so that information could be accounted there without any need to be notable.
I have given verifiable and authentic evidence that the said party and candidates contested the 2019 Indian general election in Gujarat so they could be mentioned in the article that give information about that election.
Now i again request you to restore all of my edit as it was totally under the wikipedia policy.
Thanks Jatin1219 (talk) 10:11, 2 March 2023 (UTC)[reply]
Interesting POV. Election commission will add all candidates regardless party or no party. We can't add them all because they are there. That's why notability exists. -- Kartik Mistry talk 10:29, 2 March 2023 (UTC)[reply]
Point was notablity does not apply on contents of article(according to wikipedia itself), that too on general article like candidates who contested election.
I just expended the information that was already there with authentic refrences. The section where i added information was candidates that contested elections and i just added the names of candidates.
If you think that only candidates that belongs to some big party should be mentioned in candidate section then you should make a seperate section or article titled "Big party candidates". All the candidiate have right to be mentioned in a section that titles "Candidates" of election.
Please restore my edits or i will do it myself.
Thanks Jatin1219 (talk) 10:49, 2 March 2023 (UTC)[reply]
Please add all candidates not only to specific party. Thanks for your contributing to the Wikipedia. -- Kartik Mistry talk 10:56, 2 March 2023 (UTC)[reply]
I will when i get proper time to do so, Till then i will add candidate names as i see suitable with wikipedia policy. I have reinstated my original edit.
Thanks and have a good day ahead. Jatin1219 (talk) 11:35, 2 March 2023 (UTC)[reply]
