Non-free use disputed for Image:Logo tas.gif[edit]

Warning sign This file may be deleted.

Thanks for uploading Image:Logo tas.gif. However, there is a concern that the rationale you have provided for using this image under "fair use" may be invalid. Please read the instructions at Wikipedia:Non-free content carefully, then go to the image description page and clarify why you think the image qualifies for fair use. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to ensure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.

If it is determined that the image does not qualify under fair use, it will be deleted within a couple of days according to our Criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you.BetacommandBot 05:18, 1 July 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Orphaned non-free media (Image:Revue aero en.jpg)[edit]

Thanks for uploading Image:Revue aero en.jpg. The media description page currently specifies that it is non-free and may only be used on Wikipedia under a claim of fair use. However, it is currently orphaned, meaning that it is not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the media was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. You may add it back if you think that that will be useful. However, please note that media for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable for use on Wikipedia (see our policy for non-free media).

If you have uploaded other unlicensed media, please check whether they're used in any articles or not. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. Note that all non-free media not used in any articles will be deleted after seven days, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. Thank you. BetacommandBot 13:56, 9 September 2007 (UTC)[reply]

A new task force - ESA[edit]

Hello,

I've noticed that you are active in the area of space exploration. I just wanted to let you know that a European Space Agency task force has been set up to improve the presently very poor condition of articles about ESA and related topics. If you are interested, please join the task force here. We sure could use your help. Thanks.U5K0 (talk) 11:44, 18 August 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Image copyright problem with File:Logo symphonie.jpg[edit]

Thanks for uploading File:Logo symphonie.jpg. You've indicated that the image is being used under a claim of fair use, but you have not provided an adequate explanation for why it meets Wikipedia's requirements for such images. In particular, for each page the image is used on, the image must have an explanation linking to that page which explains why it needs to be used on that page. Can you please check

  • That there is a non-free use rationale on the image's description page for each article the image is used in.
  • That every article it is used on is linked to from its description page.

This is an automated notice by FairuseBot. For assistance on the image use policy, see Wikipedia:Media copyright questions. --FairuseBot (talk) 02:51, 6 January 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Overlinking[edit]

I've noticed that you tend to add too many links to some of the articles to which you contribute. Could you possibly read WP:OVERLINK, as I think it might help you to provide higher quality contributions. --GW 16:58, 5 July 2009 (UTC)[reply]

OK. But the link to Thales Alenia Space was the first in the core of the article (except the Box)--Friendly, Kasos_fr (talk) 17:03, 5 July 2009 (UTC)[reply]
No, there was one in the sentence before it: "Spacebus is a satellite bus produced at the Cannes Mandelieu Space Center in France by Thales Alenia Space. Typically used for geostationary communications satellites, fifty two have been launched since development started in the 1980s. Spacebus was originally produced by Aérospatiale, and later passed to Alcatel Alenia Space. Following Alcatel's merger with the Thales Group, production was transferred to Thales Alenia Space." You linked the second one. There were other issues as well. --GW 17:11, 5 July 2009 (UTC)[reply]
Excuse me. I did not read correctly.
Thank you for your "large" effort to improve the article by separating the list from the main article. But it appears new problems. You create links to various new pages for each version. It was not my intention to create such many new pages, so presently they are "red links".--Friendly, Kasos_fr (talk) 17:20, 5 July 2009 (UTC)[reply]
  • Don't worry, I'm planning to create those myself. --GW 17:46, 5 July 2009 (UTC)[reply]
    • I would have prefered what I did on the French version, this afternoon : a single page for the whole short descriptions of the versions, and links to the various lists of the second page. And in counterpart a backlink from the list to the main page (which contains all informations, many references and sources), avaoidin to have to duplicate the sources between these 2 pages.--Friendly, Kasos_fr (talk) 18:50, 5 July 2009 (UTC)[reply]
  • I made a first poposal for the links between the main article and the sub-article (the List). See exeample for Spacebus 100. If you agree, I will continue this afternoon.--Friendly, Kasos_fr (talk) 09:51, 6 July 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Why[edit]

Why are Chinese references "forbidden" in the article of the Palapa-D launch? I saw many references about space sci & tech in many wiki eng articles are from Chinese sources. Why it's so autocratic?(Buhuzu (talk) 19:40, 4 September 2009 (UTC))[reply]

The problem is that reference is only writen in chineese characters. So, impossible to read by people not familiar with this language. It could be possible if it was accompanied with an english translation.--Friendly, Kasos_fr (talk) 21:54, 4 September 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Copyvio[edit]

Your addition to Huygens probe has been removed, as it appears to have added copyrighted material to Wikipedia without permission from the copyright holder. For legal reasons, we cannot accept copyrighted text or images borrowed from other web sites or printed material; such additions will be deleted. You may use external websites as a source of information, but not as a source of article content such as sentences or images. Wikipedia takes copyright violations very seriously and persistent violators will be blocked from editing. Canterbury Tail talk 03:15, 23 January 2010 (UTC)[reply]

In fact going back through a lot of your contributions I notice a lot of them are literal copy and paste copyright violations. Do not lift text from other websites and pass it off as your own writing. See the links above. Canterbury Tail talk 16:33, 24 January 2010 (UTC)[reply]
Sorry, but to describe more in detail this new satellite, it is necessary to take information from existing publications.--Friendly, Kasos_fr (talk) 21:42, 24 January 2010 (UTC)[reply]
There is a difference between taking information from existing publications and copying wholesale to the extent of copyright violations. Canterbury Tail talk 23:05, 24 January 2010 (UTC)[reply]
Have a look on my new project. You know : I am an engineer retired from the spacecratf industry. I try to explain simply how is conceived this new satellite. More details on each part or function is already described in WP. If you agree, I will move this new redaction to the mail article.--Friendly, Kasos_fr (talk) 09:43, 25 January 2010 (UTC)[reply]
Doesn't seem to be a copyvio so I have no issues with it. Canterbury Tail talk 12:45, 25 January 2010 (UTC)[reply]
OK, thanks, so I move it to the main article.--Friendly, Kasos_fr (talk) 18:02, 25 January 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Spaceflight portals[edit]

Hello! As an member editor of one or more of the Spaceflight, Human spaceflight, Unmanned spaceflight, Timeline of spaceflight or Space colonisation WikiProjects, I'd like to draw to your attention a proposal I have made with regards to the future of the spaceflight-related portals, which can be found at Portal talk:Spaceflight#Portal merge. I'd very much appreciate any suggestions or feedback you'd be able to offer! Many thanks,

WikiProject activity[edit]

Hello there! As part of an experiment to determine how many active editors are present in the spaceflight-related WikiProjects, I have made some changes to the list of members of WikiProject Unmanned spaceflight. If you still consider yourself to be an active editor in this project, I would be grateful if you would please edit the list so that your name is not struck out - thus a clearer idea of the critical mass of editors can be determined. Many thanks in advance.

Hello WikiProject Space member! A discussion has been started regarding the future of WikiProject Space here; any comments you might have would be welcome! There are mainly two competing ideas:

  1. Centralize all the Space-related WikiProjects, such as Astronomy and Spaceflight, and merge them into WikiProject Space, or
  2. Separate the Astronomy and Spaceflight "sides" of WikiProject, and remove WikiProject Space.

If you can think of other options, that's great too. Your contribution to the discussion would be much appreciated. Thanks! :)

WikiProject Spaceflight reboot[edit]

Hello there! As you may or may not be aware, a recent discussion on the future of the Space-related WikiProjects has concluded, leading to the abolition of WP:SPACE and leading to a major reorganisation of WP:SPACEFLIGHT. It would be much appreciated if you would like to participate in the various ongoing discussions at the reorganisation page and the WikiProject Spaceflight talk page. If you are a member of one of WP:SPACEFLIGHT's child projects but not WP:SPACEFLIGHT itself, it would also be very useful if you could please add your name to the member list here. Many thanks!

August 2016[edit]

Information icon Hi, and thank you for your contributions to Wikipedia. It appears that you tried to give Aérospatiale a different title by copying its content and pasting either the same content, or an edited version of it, into another page with a different name. This is known as a "cut-and-paste move", and it is undesirable because it splits the page history, which is legally required for attribution. Instead, the software used by Wikipedia has a feature that allows pages to be moved to a new title together with their edit history.

In most cases, once your account is four days old and has ten edits, you should be able to move an article yourself using the "Move" tab at the top of the page (the tab may be hidden in a dropdown menu for you). This both preserves the page history intact and automatically creates a redirect from the old title to the new. If you cannot perform a particular page move yourself this way (e.g. because a page already exists at the target title), please follow the instructions at requested moves to have it moved by someone else. Also, if there are any other pages that you moved by copying and pasting, even if it was a long time ago, please list them at Wikipedia:Requests for history merge. Thank you. BilCat (talk) 08:28, 10 August 2016 (UTC)[reply]

the English translation (Google) : Thank you for your information. I discover at the end of my work. I wanted to rename the page, but I am forbidden. So I transferred all the text in the old section which included Aerospatiale a redirection. I then deleted all of Aérospatiale, but leaving behind the discussion page. And I opened a new page in discussion Aerospatiale.

That isn't the way pages are moved in English Wikipedia. You must propose a move as explained at Wikipedia:Requested moves. If there is a consensus to move the page, then an administrator will move it. - BilCat (talk) 08:44, 10 August 2016 (UTC)[reply]
Thank you for your help. But I do not understand the modification application process. Can you help me ?--Friendly, Kasos_fr (talk) 16:53, 10 August 2016 (UTC)[reply]

New trajectory analysis from MH370 discussion page[edit]

Thank you very much for the PDF document "MH370: An Operationalstudy of a start to end Piloted Trajectory. A new search area" - I found it very interesting not only from the drift analysis point of view! KOT-TOK (talk) 07:26, 22 May 2018 (UTC)[reply]

I've decided to start the request Wikipedia:Requests_for_mediation/Map_with_GEOMAR_calculations_of_wing_flaperon_(MH370)_origin_deleted_from_Malaysia_Airlines_Flight_370_article - it is in Requests_for_mediation/Pending section : Wikipedia:Requests_for_mediation/Pending. The request is about the GEOMAR flaperon drift map deleted 5.05.2018 in the MH370 article. The talk about the map Talk:Malaysia_Airlines_Flight_370#Map of MH370 flight path with GEOMAR calculations of wing flaperon origin gives no solution, so I started the mediation. Hope it will be interesting for you. KOT-TOK (talk) 22:51, 29 May 2018 (UTC)[reply]
