The IP editor's deletions are inappropriate, but the "Controversy" section as you have written it is also troubling. For example:

• "the highly disputed Count de Milleville" – what does "highly disputed" mean here? What is in dispute, and who is disputing it? The phrase by itself is vague and impossible to substantiate, and reads like character assassination rather than fact.
• "enriched himself during the war" – a claim such as this needs a strong citation. If it's based on this one single book, it should be qualified by "allegedly" or "according to le Foulon". Again, this phrasing is appropriate to a smear campaign, rather than to an encyclopedia. The same is true about the allegations on the daughter and the son.
• "are as many elements that do not plead in favor of her resistance against the nazis" – not only is this vague, it makes it seem as though Wikipedia is taking a position on the subject. Wikipedia articles should not draw conclusions. At most, they should summarize conclusions reached by others.

I strongly suggest you tone down this section, and provide appropriate references. A single book is a start, but I don't think it's enough to support what's written here.

Question about Curaçao on village/neighbourhood/city level

I've been doing a clean-up round of Curaçao and it was very interesting, but I am very confused about the organisation below the country level. There are districts and geozones, but there seem to be no mayors, local elections, and hardly anything on the internet. Willemstad has a city hall (stadhuis), but no mayor or website(???) The strangest thing is that searches turn out blanks, so could you please enlighten me? KittenKlub (talk) 20:21, 25 April 2021 (UTC)

Hi KittenKlub, your enquiry is quite understandable. In the colonial period there was only one level of government on the Dutch Caribbean islands seated in Willemstad and headed by the Governor as the representative of the Crown and the "gezaghebber" (lieutenant governor) as his assistant stationed on each island. Under this structure districts were instituted for administrative reasons, mostly cadastral. The concepts of a mayor or city rights were never applied there. Under the constellation of the Netherlands Antilles the government became two-tiered with the institution from 1949 onward of island and national elections and governments. Since its dissolution in 2010 Curacao and Sint Maarten (likewise Aruba) have a single level of government, that is authorized to cover all matters for which the islands were given autonomy by the Charter for the Kingdom of the Netherlands. In each jurisdiction there is only one parlementary election for the Estates (Staten). The buildings in Aruba and Curacao (on Sint Maarten I have no information) presently referred as "city hall" are not the seat of government, but the offices of the census department and where marriage ceremonies take place. On the islands Bonaire, Saba and Statia, which are special municipalities of the Netherlands since 2010, there is one local government comparable to a mayor and aldermen with delegated authority, but still using colonial names such as "gezaghebber" and "bestuurscollege". Matters that were not delegated remain within the realm of the Netherlands and are handled by the individual ministries in The Hague according to the matter at hand. These islanders participate in local island elections (with local political parties), but also in all elections of the Netherlands. I hope this information is helpful. Caribiana Thanks, I already got the impression that there were no real subdivisions, however those "geozones" outside of Willemstad are just like little municipalities. Tera Corá has two main settlements, and some hamlets over a large area. Also the picture of the city hall of Willemstad was a typical neo-Roman temple city hall. A slight correction: with the city hall of Curacao I meant the building called "Kranshi" (now located at Roodeweg 45). I am not sure which picture you are referring to, whether Fort Amsterdam (Curaçao) or maybe Tempel Emanu-el. The Aruban city hall is this Stadhuis van Oranjestad. Yes, that building is located at Wilhelminaplein 4, Punda and now serves as the headquarters of the Common Court of Justice. Prior to that it served as the parliament building. Sorry, I did not recall that it is also referred to as "stadhuis" because it is also known as "21 Trapi". Thanks for your invitation to join the English Wikipedia, where I have made some edits in the past.
