First, please don't type in all caps. Second, unfortunately the rules for conflict of interest and paid editing are very clear so you'll need to review them if you have a COI. If you have/are/will be paid for editing, then you must follow the guidelines at WP:PAID. If you've not been paid then it's a bit easier and most of the information you will need is directly in the text above without having to click through the guidelines.
With that said the paragraph you added doesn't appear to have any issues at first glance. If you've just been asked to make the change and your job/family/whatever is not related to him then I think you can go ahead and make the change again with something like the edit summary you used the first time. If you do have some connection to him, then you should put the template listed above next to propose changes and the verbatim changes/additions on the article talk page.   • "Orr became well known for his pioneering work at the Environmental Studies Center at Oberlin College, that still serves as a model of how institutions of higher learning have a broad responsibility to walk the talk of "ecoliteracy"." "Pioneering" is not a neutral term, unless we're talking about things in the past that have had enough time to become fact, rather than opinion. Einstein and Levi-Strauss and Heisenberg's work, that's pioneering, we can say that objectively now. In this case, it would have to be ascribed to a reliable source of some weight, but it isn't--in fact, it's from this (which actually doesn't say "pioneering"), a promotional piece advertising a talk the subject gave at an institute, published by that institute. "Still serves as a model" could be a neutral statement, but here it is not sourced to a reliable secondary source. Worse, the source is an interview with the subject, so is it the subject himself who said it? Again, this needs to be ascribed. And "walk the talk", for all its cuteness, is not neutral either. If you are the copyright holder for this media entirely yourself but have previously published it elsewhere (especially online), please either

  • make a note permitting reuse under the CC-BY-SA or another acceptable free license (see this list) at the site of the original publication; or
  • Send an email from an address associated with the original publication to permissions-en@wikimedia.org, stating your ownership of the material and your intention to publish it under a free license. Hello, I can see that a COI query was made on this page earlier, and you have sort of admitted to some sort of relationship, possibly, but it's not quite clear what. Because I have an interest in the topic of sustainability, I reached out to David Orr to ask why his current work wasn't listed in the article about David Orr. He expressed interest in having the Wikipedia page updated. I expressed interest in learning how to update the article. You don't have to be paid or gain something to have a conflict of interest. (paid editing is different) You have been in communication with an article subject regarding an article about them and are editing on their behalf. That is a conflict of interest. Hi. Please tell me how I should disclose a purported conflict of interest. I've known of David Orr's work for 20 years because I have also worked in the field of environmental education. Please see WP:COI for instructions; if you find the coding too complicated(no problem, many do) you may simply write a statement on your user page stating that you have a COI with that topic. I have offered an update to the Wikipedia article about David W. Orr. I stated in my edit summary that "I have a conflict of interest in that I worked in a similar field as the subject of the article, David Orr, in the past (1995-2003). I have never worked with or for David Orr. I am not being paid to edit this Wikipedia article. I am updating this article because it is woefully incomplete." You have repeatedly said and implied that Orr is not good with computers and you are helping on his behalf, so one would assume you're contacting him and vice versa.   • You've been here for a while now; people have been pointing out to you that these edits are promotional. In addition, I indicated in my summary what else was problematic and I am not going to repeat that. If you are going to ask me to point out in detail what I found problematic in your edits, you can ask me that, but NOT in the edit summary while you are again inserting the same material.       • He has a page. You were editing it. Doesn't mean you get to fill it up with what is essentially a resume. If you work in the same field, surely you understand the difference between primary and secondary sources. In layman's terms: you were padding his resume with unacceptable sources. Today I added a paragraph to the Wikipedia article about David W Orr about his involvement in the Meadowcreek Project. There are no primary sources of references listed, no padding of information.
