Writing articles about something around you[edit]

I have had this question on my mind for a while now; I want to know what a contributor would do if they have a thing they know about very well, like a tourist site, a unique thing that only few people know about or nobody knows at all and wants to write about it. What would they do to avoid failing the rule that guides referencing credible authorities? is there a way of allowing such articles? is there a way for wiki to confirm the authenticity of the article? if that would be considered by Wikipedia for things that are new or strange and has not been written about. I am in a situation right now where I would only end up with a "stub" (if that's what it is called) when I have an appreciable knowledge of what I want to write about but the referencing criterion hinders me as no one has written about it. Wikipedia has essentially no interest in what you or I know or have to say about anything. We only summarise what reliable, independent published sources have to say about a subject, if there are no reliable sources then we cannot have an article. User Page help[edit]

I keep seeing this message on my userpage that says I do not have a userpage yet. I don't understand that, I sometimes see an edit box on that page but I can't make any changes there. The sandbox is also unclear to me (user sandbox) is the sandbox just for experimenting? I saw a button there for submitting a draft, is that still for practising? If it is not, what happens to the template and the edit below this line template, I see it has an introduction attached to it which I believe is there because of the templates. I have started your user page for you, by adding a link to your sandbox there. Theroadislong (talk) 16:05, 6 July 2018 (UTC)[reply]
