Hi, I am french. Thanks for your list and your edits, it could help me improving the french Wikipedia (where the bias seems stronger than here), even with Stub redirecting to english pages. Did you try to reuse pages on foreign WP, using categories, to find women missing on English WP ? Cheers. Sophia-ka (talk) 13:38, 28 April 2014 (UTC)[reply]

  • Hi @Sophia-ka: - sorry for the late response, but I just now noticed your edit to the talk page. I haven't used other language Wikipedias to build a bigger list yet, but I do intend to do so eventually. My list as it is is definitely biased towards anglophones - really only a handful of people on it (like Béatrice Longuenesse) are not primarily anglophones. I created my initial list (which I have not yet entirely uploaded to the page - I'll upload another chunk soon) in conjunction with several academic philosophers based in the US. Please feel free to add any missing notable women philosophers to the list on this page regardless of what language they speak, and once I (and the other people who are helping with it) finish up with our existing list (and any additions made to it,) I'll crawl through other language Wikipedias trying to identify notable women philosophers that are still missing from ENWP. • Please, do not apologize, I am not sure I make it better with response time. I just translated the first page, Amélie Rorty, but as french Wikipedian standards are very high for academics people, especially for women, I hesitated to create the others (accordance with fr.WP Relevance of content to be checked). I will try to complete your list, including not french or not recent philosophers. Please feel free to delete if they do not match your criterias.
