Keyman5825, it's nice to have you on Wikipedia!
Hiya, I noticed the edit on my talk page and it looked like you were interested in doing edits!
That's great, we can always use more editors. I'm glad you felt comfortable enough to be bold in your
editing and leave me a note. :)
Anyway, I felt I should help you a bit, since you wanted more information on editing.
Here's a couple tips on getting started:
  • I'd like you to right-click on This Link and select "Open in a new window" or however your browser phrases it. This way, you can edit in one window while reading instructions in the other. The best way to learn is by doing, of course!
  • In this browser (after reading all of this) click on This Link which will open your personal sandbox. The first time you visit this page, it will have a link that says Start the User:Keyman5825/Sandbox page or add a request for it ... you'll want to click on "Start the User:Keyman5825/Sandbox" link. (The above blue links don't actually work, they're just to show you what you're looking for.)
  • Once you have it open, feel free to practice making links, various wiki-features (See at the top of this page where it says "How to edit a page") and other such fun. Once you're comfortable with editing pages and have gone through the Wikipedia Introduction (which should be in a different browser window) you're all set!
  • "Getting Into" editing and understanding how Wikipedia works will take you some time. Trust me, I've been at this a month and am by far new to this. Not to say I haven't learned a trick or two (like how to write pages like this) but I'm very much a n00bie. It takes time and patience!
  • If you end up getting stuck, the first thing you want to do is try to find the answer yourself. This isn't me trying to get you to "leave me alone"! If you search for what you have questions on, there's a good chance you'll run across other useful bits of information as well. If, after searching, you still can't figure out what your answer is, then ask. Always try to look first though, and if you see an interesting page, don't just skip it... open it in a new browser window or save a link to that page for later. You never know what sorts of useful information you'll find on here!
Hope that helps you out some!

License tagging for Image:Mouse strong.jpg[edit]

Thanks for uploading Image:Mouse strong.jpg. Wikipedia gets hundreds of images uploaded every day, and in order to verify that the images can be legally used on Wikipedia, the source and copyright status must be indicated. Images need to have an image tag applied to the image description page indicating the copyright status of the image. This uniform and easy-to-understand method of indicating the license status allows potential re-users of the images to know what they are allowed to do with the images.

For more information on using images, see the following pages:

This is an automated notice by OrphanBot. If you need help on selecting a tag to use, or in adding the tag to the image description, feel free to post a message at Wikipedia:Media copyright questions. 23:44, 1 May 2006 (UTC)

  1. Thank you for experimenting with Wikipedia. Your test worked, and has been reverted or removed. Please use the sandbox for any other tests you want to do. 2. Please stop. If you continue to vandalize pages, you will be blocked from editing Wikipedia. Naconkantari e|t||c|m 02:48, 2 May 2006 (UTC)[reply]
