February 2014[edit]

Hello, I'm Rmosler2100. I wanted to let you know that an edit you added to the page YTB International was removed because it seemed inappropriate for an encyclopedia. If you think I made a mistake, or if you have any questions, you can leave me a message on my talk page, or take a look at our guidelines about links. Thanks. YTB Internaitonal[edit]

Hello. Although I commend your stated commitment to facts, you should be aware that Wikipedia relies on writing from a neutral point of view and on using reliable sources. YouTube links are almost never acceptable for such purposes, and links to the company's own website are only of limited use (WP:PRIMARY). You are a single purpose account who has removed cited material that makes YTB International look bad. Please remember that Wikipedia is NOT a platform for promotion. I strongly suggest you read about having a conflict of interest. Thank you Grayfell (talk) 22:52, 27 May 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Look, I'm willing to work with you, but you can't just ignore what I'm saying. You are adding a huge amount of unsourced, promotionally written content to the page. Discuss these changes on the article's talk page, please! Grayfell (talk) 03:11, 28 May 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Grayfell... you are adding incorrect information. My opinion comes based only on facts and you keep adding inaccurate and outdated information from issues that have been far resolved and dismissed from 2008 and 2009... 5- years ago. I will continue to put the accurate information in this wiki... I will be sure to get better at citing all the content but it is accurate content where the content you continue to add is not. I am not biased nor am I of any opinion other than truth should reign. KillTheRumor (talk) 14:04, 28 May 2014 (UTC)KillTheRumorKillTheRumor (talk) 14:04, 28 May 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Grayfell, I added all the cites and references for your benefit. (Please note that there is no opinion or bias...simple facts) Nothing is being written for promotion unless of course if you consider the fact that I am promoting facts and truth. All the information is updated and current. It is important to have current information on a wiki..not old information designed to make it look like it is current. This company is no longer involved in any lawsuits or legal matters which would be of any interest. Any old information on the lawsuits they had previously encountered in years past are filed under lawsuits where they belong with their proper cites and proper references. KillTheRumor (talk) 16:08, 28 May 2014 (UTC)KillTheRumor[reply]

Don't add citations for my benefit, add them because they are a core principle of Wikipedia. Perhaps you should read the introduction: Wikipedia:Introduction.
When adding citations, you need to actually add citations, not just copy/paste numbers in brackets, like this: [3]. How is that going to help anybody? Please review Help:Referencing for beginners.
Your additions removed a large amount of material that relied on WP:SECONDARY sources. That means the sources were not directly involved with the company. Right now most of the information in the article is from the company's own websites. Adding a bunch of press-releases and tiny blurb stories to support stuff about various promotional events doesn't demonstrate a good understanding of WP:DUEWEIGHT. Just because YTB issues a press release to promote an event doesn't mean that event should be included in the article.
You've removed all Wikipedia:Wikilinks from the article. Take a look at your version of the YTB article compared to another business article (Tillingbourne Bus Company is a WP:GOOD example). Does the YTB article look comparable? No, it's a mess with none of those blue links that help make Wikipedia useful.
Please remember that older information is still encyclopedic. If the company was investigated as a pyramid scheme, involved in noteworthy lawsuits, or operated under a different name in the past, that information should be explained, because people use encyclopedias to research the history of companies. Right? Why else do you think these articles exist?
These are the reasons it looks to me like you're trying to white-wash the article. Grayfell (talk) 22:55, 28 May 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Hello, I'm BracketBot. I have automatically detected that your edit to YTB International may have broken the syntax by modifying 1 "[]"s. If you have, don't worry: just edit the page again to fix it. If I misunderstood what happened, or if you have any questions, you can leave a message on my operator's talk page.

List of unpaired brackets remaining on the page:
  • business model will withstand scrutiny, and look forward to setting the record straight in court."[2

It's OK to remove this message. Also, to stop receiving these messages, follow these opt-out instructions. Thanks, BracketBot (talk) 14:49, 28 May 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Fixed it. Thanks for the heads up!! KillTheRumor (talk) 15:02, 28 May 2014 (UTC)KillTheRumor[reply]

June 2014[edit]

Information icon Please do not add promotional material to Wikipedia, as you did to YTB International. While objective prose about beliefs, products or services is acceptable, Wikipedia is not intended to be a vehicle for soapboxing, advertising or promotion. Thank you. Grayfell (talk) 23:11, 1 June 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Warning icon Please stop your disruptive editing. If you continue to remove portions of page content, templates or other materials from Wikipedia, as you did to YTB International with this edit, you may be blocked from editing. Jim1138 (talk) 03:17, 2 June 2014 (UTC)[reply]

No intentional disruption. Not trying to cause trouble. Just trying to make sure that accurate and up to date information is on the page. Greyfell seems to be posting biased information.I believe somehow he has been affiliated with this company at some point and his experience is clouding his edits. I am new to wiki somewhat and am learning - I started with this page out of curiosity and seemingly a small page but I see that to some it is important enough to continually publish inaccurate and out of date information out of either a lack of knowledge or a emotional attachment to the company. It seems ridiculous to me that the accurate and up to date information is removed and information that is 5 years old or older keeps making it to the forefront of the article instead of placed in a timeline accurately. All of the cites and references are correct and up to date in chronological order. KillTheRumor (talk) 03:49, 2 June 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Conflict of interest notice[edit]

=NO CONFLICT OF INTEREST[edit]

Just stating facts. It seems that greyfell might be too close to the subject or have a conflict with MLM business/companies since he frequently edits the pages. I am well aware of the rules. Thank you for your gentle reminder. User:Jim1138

Assume good faith[edit]

If you examine Grayfell's edit history 26 edits out of the latest 500 are associated with YTB International or ~5%. Examining your edits: KillTheRumor edit history 82 out of 82 edits are directly associated with YTB International or 100%. This classifies you as a wp:SPA. Given that, who would you say has a conflict of interest? I would strongly suggest you wp:AGF. Jim1138 (talk) 21:23, 2 June 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Good Faith[edit]

I understand ut he also is editing for Monavie and Ambit which are both companies that are MLM structured. I only chose YTB Intl. because of a study of their case in CA and IL. No conflict... especially as you can see how new I am. I just prefer facts over opinion. By the way- Who are you anyway and what authority do you have? Curious as to how wiki works and since you seem to be so knowledgeable, I figured you must be the go to on info. Thanks mate! KillTheRumor (talk) 21:32, 2 June 2014 (UTC)[reply]
