File permission problem with File:Hmst.jpg[edit]

Thanks for uploading File:Hmst.jpg. I noticed that while you provided a valid copyright licensing tag, there is no proof that the creator of the file agreed to license it under the given license.

If you created this media entirely yourself but have previously published it elsewhere (especially online), please either

  • make a note permitting reuse under the CC-BY-SA or another acceptable free license (see this list) at the site of the original publication; or
  • Send an email from an address associated with the original publication to permissions-en@wikimedia.org, stating your ownership of the material and your intention to publish it under a free license. You can find a sample permission letter here. If you take this step, add {{OTRS pending}} to the file description page to prevent premature deletion.

If you did not create it entirely yourself, please ask the person who created the file to take one of the two steps listed above, or if the owner of the file has already given their permission to you via email, please forward that email to permissions-en@wikimedia.org.

If you believe the media meets the criteria at Wikipedia:Non-free content, use a tag such as {{non-free fair use in|article name}} or one of the other tags listed at Wikipedia:File copyright tags#Fair use, and add a rationale justifying the file's use on the article or articles where it is included. See Wikipedia:File copyright tags for the full list of copyright tags that you can use.

If you have uploaded other files, consider checking that you have provided evidence that their copyright owners have agreed to license their works under the tags you supplied, too. You can find a list of files you have created in your upload log. Files lacking evidence of permission may be deleted one week after they have been tagged, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. Magog the Ogre (talk) 17:25, 24 March 2011 (UTC)[reply]

License tagging for File:598352088 3U3jS-O.jpg[edit]

Thanks for uploading File:598352088 3U3jS-O.jpg. You don't seem to have indicated the license status of the image. Wikipedia uses a set of image copyright tags to indicate this information; to add a tag to the image, select the appropriate tag from this list, click on this link, then click "Edit this page" and add the tag to the image's description. If there doesn't seem to be a suitable tag, the image is probably not appropriate for use on Wikipedia.

For help in choosing the correct tag, or for any other questions, leave a message on Wikipedia:Media copyright questions. Thank you for your cooperation. --ImageTaggingBot (talk) 19:06, 2 April 2011 (UTC)[reply]

I'm kingcutie. I had no idea you were virtuous. The Har Mar Superstar Wikipedia page has been under attack the past few hours. You were doing the right thing. Sorry for being reactive and not looking first. The other accounts that have messed with that page are acting in very bad faith. Sorry and thank you so much for intervening.

April 2022[edit]

Information icon Hi Kingcutie! I noticed that you have reverted to restore your preferred version of Har Mar Superstar several times. The impulse to undo an edit you disagree with is understandable, but I wanted to make sure you're aware that the edit warring policy disallows repeated reversions even if they are justifiable.

All editors are expected to discuss content disputes on article talk pages to try to reach consensus. If you are unable to agree at Talk:Har Mar Superstar, please use one of the dispute resolution options to seek input from others. Using this approach instead of reverting can help you avoid getting drawn into an edit war. Thank you. Tol (talk | contribs) @ 22:07, 18 April 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Stop icon

Your recent editing history at Har Mar Superstar shows that you are currently engaged in an edit war; that means that you are repeatedly changing content back to how you think it should be, when you have seen that other editors disagree. To resolve the content dispute, please do not revert or change the edits of others when you are reverted. Instead of reverting, please use the talk page to work toward making a version that represents consensus among editors. The best practice at this stage is to discuss, not edit-war. See the bold, revert, discuss cycle for how this is done. If discussions reach an impasse, you can then post a request for help at a relevant noticeboard or seek dispute resolution. In some cases, you may wish to request temporary page protection.

Being involved in an edit war can result in you being blocked from editing—especially if you violate the three-revert rule, which states that an editor must not perform more than three reverts on a single page within a 24-hour period. Undoing another editor's work—whether in whole or in part, whether involving the same or different material each time—counts as a revert. Also keep in mind that while violating the three-revert rule often leads to a block, you can still be blocked for edit warring—even if you do not violate the three-revert rule—should your behavior indicate that you intend to continue reverting repeatedly. Disambiguation link notification for April 19[edit]

Hi. Thank you for your recent edits. An automated process has detected that when you recently edited Har Mar Superstar, you added a link pointing to the disambiguation page First Avenue. Such links are usually incorrect, since a disambiguation page is merely a list of unrelated topics with similar titles. (Read the FAQ • Join us at the DPL WikiProject.)

Information icon Hello, I'm Fakescientist8000. I noticed that you recently removed content from Har Mar Superstar without adequately explaining why. In the future, it would be helpful to others if you described your changes to Wikipedia with an accurate edit summary. If this was a mistake, don't worry; the removed content has been restored. If you would like to experiment, please use your sandbox. If you think I made a mistake, or if you have any questions, you can leave me a message on my talk page. It looks to be like you are attempting to whitewash the article of any bad press, no? Cheers! Fakescientist8000 16:41, 12 May 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Fakescientist - A few things here: There's no reason to showcase a picture of a First Avenue star if the star no longer exists. This is merely an attempt to further humiliate someone who has been accused of things that have never been proven. The accusers are anonymous and have conspired to prevent this from going through legal channels. I'm just trying to restore this to what it was without resorting to punishing gossip that makes a a few uninvolved people feel like they have achieved justice of some sort. Please help. Kingcutie (talk) 16:58, 12 May 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Please do not remove content or templates from pages on Wikipedia, as you did with this edit to Har Mar Superstar, without giving a valid reason for the removal in the edit summary. Your content removal does not appear constructive and has been reverted. Please make use of the sandbox if you would like to experiment with test edits. I just wanted to set the record straight. Sean is a controversial character, but the edits have been done to damage his character. I'm trying to balance the entry. I did refrain from editing for awhile. And I noted and attempted to make every decision clear in these recent edits. Kingcutie (talk) 22:36, 12 May 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Request reason:

I am the brother of the subject, and I have been editing this page since at least 2011, so, yes, I may be a little close to some of this. And I seriously did not mean to "edit war," but I just kept having well-noted reasons for altering language and clarifications about sourced material flat-out undone. Please reinstate me, and I will be extra careful about proceeding with what appear to controversial changes to other editors. I understand what I was blocked for, and will make sure to explore other means of conflict resolution in the future. We all just want entries to be as accurate as possible, and I felt under siege by a few people who definitely wanted to paint my brother in a light that was not exactly in good faith prior to the first week-long ban. You have no idea what my family and I have been subjected to on Twitter as a result of anonymous allegations. You can quote articles all you want, but I happen to know a lot more than an article written 15 months ago, and I just want information accurately conveyed without being overtly judgmental. I stepped away for a few weeks and checked in today to make some tweaks. I understand that not everyone is going to agree with everything on here, so I tried to clearly state my case for each change today, or at least ask questions. It felt like I was just being overruled for the sake of being overruled. I am whole-heartedly willing to cede to reasonable consensus. Please unblock me, and I will learn and use the discussion features for any future edits on all Wikipedia entries.Kingcutie (talk) 23:51, 12 May 2022 (UTC)[reply]

I'm afraid this makes matters worse, not better. You have a conflict of interest in this subject area; see WP:COI. Frankly, you aren't going to be unblocked to write about Har Mar Superstar, given your history of inappropriate edits. You'd need to accept a WP:TOPICBAN, I expect. Request reason:

I apologize for the edit warring. I have been editing for over 11 years, and this has not been a problem prior to last month when there was a sudden hotbed of controversy surrounding the Har Mar Superstar entry. My frustration was borne out of watching other editors use information from newer sources summarizing older articles in rather questionable ways and than having that telephone-game information be used to characterize someone in an unfair way. I watched as my edits would be overturned without much seeming regard for my reasons. As this is a collective effort, I now understand that I should have waited it out and deferred to other editors and administrators. I have learned a great deal about notating edits since yesterday and will continue to learn more if reinstated.

I have never hidden behind anonymity or tried to set up shadow accounts to commit mischief, but I have watched as others have committed vandalism to the Har Mar Superstar page over the past year-and-a-half, so hopefully that explains why I got defensive. It's not an excuse, but it is an explanation. There are Facebook posts that are referred to by businesses in a source or two that no longer exist, for instance, and I thought information like that was helpful to note. Please reinstate me and give me a chance to grow. Kingcutie (talk) 11:03, 13 May 2022 (UTC)[reply]

This does not address your personal attacks, nor does it tell us what edits you will make. I concur with Yamla that a topic ban from Har Mar Superstar is needed. 331dot (talk) 13:48, 13 May 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Request reason:

If reinstated, I will not edit the Har Mar Superstar page without going through proper channels to discuss my concerns. In fact, I see that I've perhaps permanently jeopardized my ability to edit anything on here, and that is unfortunate and disappointing. I accept responsibility for that, and if I didn't ultimately respect Wikipedia, I wouldn't have engaged in years of editing to begin with. But where are these personal attacks that several people have mentioned? There HAVE BEEN trolls vandalizing this page in the past. (See Revision as of 07:16, 1 February 2022 where this was placed in the opening lines of the page: "... he is best known for masturbating in front of unsuspecting women under the stage name Har Mar Superstar.") Also, none of my concerns or legitimate questions were ever responded to, just overwritten. Why is the First Avenue star on the wall mentioned at all? If it's no longer up, why is it even being listed as an award? So that it's being painted over can be mentioned? And, while I understand that characterizing the potential reason as "community hysteria" might be a bit aggressive, why else would they have been compelled to do that? Why feature a photo of something that no longer exists? Also, why is Sean's now-deleted statement characterized as an "apology" when none of the verbiage that keeps getting quoted was in relation to the anonymous accusations that were still piling-on as it was being issued? Sean merely said he's listening respectfully, and he was. Also, after that trio of Star Tribune articles about Sean and abuse in the Minneapolis music scene, nothing more has been written about Har Mar Superstar or the accusations by the Star Tribune since. If this was an abusive monster that needed to be stopped, why was there no further information after mid-April of 2021? Why were there no further accusations? No police reports? No court action? These are legitimate questions. Also, Harold's -- the Moorhead Minnesota bar -- has deleted the Facebook statement about Sean, so that's a fairly important detail to note if you insist upon including a report of him being let go as a business partner. For whatever reason, they decided to take that Facebook message down. I get that the the information and questions I am positing are potentially out of the scope of what Wikipedia should be expected to do, but there are many nuances to all of this, and often obscure paywall articles summarizing the Star Tribune's work that can't be readily accessed to verify accuracy or intent merely compound these problems.

Activist "Minneapolis Twitter" has chronicled and chortled at all of this -- including these Wikipedia edits -- in a gossipy, ultra-mean fashion. In fact, I've personally watched people flat-out make stuff up about me in very bad faith on Twitter, even going so far as to doctor a private Facebook message I had with someone years prior so that it looked like I was a grooming pedophile. All this being said, I promise to lay off editing the Har Mar Superstar page, and I sincerely hope that if anything is written about Sean or these allegations in the future, the published truth -- as corny as that may sound -- will help clarify & shape what's going on with all of this and the ensuing Wikipedia revisions made and administered by (hopefully) neutral parties. Please know that I take all of this very seriously, and I will not engage in what appears to be edit-warring ever again. My actions and this page are now under a microscope, so I would be a fool to keep sticking my finger into the same outlet. Please accept my apology and reinstate me. You have my word that I will not make the same mistakes again. - Patrick Kingcutie (talk) 15:36, 13 May 2022 (UTC)[reply]

For someone who's willing to accept a topic ban, you sure do seem pretty eager to write about that topic. Look, I'm sorry, but I stopped reading less than midway through this unblock request because you're arguing about content issues in a specific Wikipedia article. The issues sound serious. But this is not the time or place to deal with them. We are here to talk about your block, not about content issues. NinjaRobotPirate (talk) 17:42, 14 June 2022 (UTC)[reply]
