Tina Bell[edit]

Myself, as well as a small group of students have started this entry about Tina Bell as an assignment for our African American Studies course at the University of Washington. We all attended an information session where a representative for Wikipedia enlightened us on the rules and guidelines of how to properly edit Wikipedia entries.

We would hate to see this entry removed so we are trying our best to follow the guidelines and provide reliable sources. We are in contact with Bell's family via email, they have been very gracious with providing us the necessary information we need for this entry. I say this all to say that we are slow to add reliable sources/references because we are awaiting this information.

In the meantime, we will begin filling the page as much as possible with the resources we do have so that this page will not be removed.

I understand your concerns, however some articles such as Tina Bell may not meet the WP:MUSICBIO criteria. You may want to use your user sandbox (it is at the top of the page), copying the contents of the article (and possibly the talk page) and pasting them into the sandbox. Here you can work on the article, and you will still have its contents even if it is deleted. MB298 (talk) 04:29, 11 December 2015 (UTC)[reply]

I'm new to this, that being said, Tina Bell is a viable page. She died a couple of years ago, and we are using the page to help promote her musical contributions and authorship in the forming of the grunge sound. if you look at some of the references we have already listed, you will see that the drummer, Matt Cameron (Soundgarden, Pearl Jam) played in her band, Bam Bam, before her leaving the group and his moving on to play with other bands, ultimately leading to his success.

Her son, TJ Martin, is the first African American to receive an Oscar as a "director for documentary film", Undefeated, of which we are using some of his articles as her references, but most of the journals written about Tina are on microfilm (Seattle Post Intelligencer, and The Rocket newspapers) due to the years the band was active, and the sale or closing of both news journals. It will take me the weekend to get that information and figure out how to include it as a viable source.

I hope this is enough info to submit for an extension for this page.
