Speedy deletion of Kaffir piano[edit]

A tag has been placed on Kaffir piano, requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. bio articles[edit]

It's great that you're writing the important series of articles on notable Black people associated with Kent State and Toledo.But there are are few things that have me a little concerned: the articles are too much in the nature of testimonials. It's much better to simply give the achievements, without saying explicitly wonderful they are--the reader will get the idea very well. In general in encyclopedic writing, the few articles the better--certainly not articles of praise. (The article that attracted my attention was Edward W. Crosby where the tone was so rhetorical that I thought it might be a copyvio from some publication--it sounds like what a university would write about one of its distinguished faculty. )

Most of what I do around here now is rewriting promotional articles, which have similar problems. I'm willing to work on these, &I'm always glad to work on academics, but it would be much better if you took a look yourself, because there is so great a influx of more serious material, where unless they're rewritten ,they won't even stay in Wikipedia, which is not in question here, that I may not get to these for a while. my apologies, obviously I moved too quickly--I have restored and marked that it is underconstruction. However, please consider whether it is appropriate to make an article on both him and his house, or whether you should combine the material under one or another of the titles, and make a redirect. James Robinson[edit]

Thanks for your quick response. I wrote an article on the house because it has its own story that has lived far beyond the lifetime of its owner. The man James Robinson has his own story to tell that also goes beyond that of the house when you take into account his history making relatives, like the Stokes brothers, Steve Harvey and Rick James, etc, If I were to combine the two together I feel that it would quickly reach the point where I'd have to create two separate articles anyway, because of the significance of the Robinson family.

I keep getting this error whenever I try to preview a book in Pedia Press or order a book from Pedia Press. Everything else works fine until I try to access Pedia Press. What's the problem? The message looks like this:

Cut and paste move of Montego joe[edit]

It appears that you tried to give Montego joe a different title by copying its content and pasting either the same content, or an edited version of it, into Montego Joe. This is known as a "cut-and-paste move", and it is undesirable because it splits the page history, which is legally required for attribution. Instead, the software used by Wikipedia has a feature that allows pages to be moved to a new title together with their edit history.[reply]

In most cases, once your account is four days old and has ten edits, you should be able to move an article yourself using the "Move" tab at the top of the page. This both preserves the page history intact and automatically creates a redirect from the old title to the new. If you cannot perform a particular page move yourself this way (e.g. because a page already exists at the target title), please follow the instructions at requested moves to have it moved by someone else. Also, if there are any other pages that you moved by copying and pasting, even if it was a long time ago, please list them at Wikipedia:Cut-and-paste-move repair holding pen. Lying in state vs. Lying in Honor[edit]

Hi; I just corrected your edit in Ruth Bader Ginsburg. Rosa Parks laid in honor, not in state. I've provided a couple of references. Basically, it's technical: in order to lie in state, you must be a member of the government in some way, which Rosa Parks was not. E.g., [1] and [2]. I left the reference to Parks, but modified the description. I also fixed the one in Rosa Parks. Note that your reference states she laid in honor, not in state.
