How to get a website assessed as a potential source[edit]

I suggest you consider raising a notice at Wikipedia:Reliable sources/Noticeboard. If independent opinion supports this as a valid reliable source for articles then you will have little problem adding to articles where it supports the text. However you should note the guidance of WP:NOTDIRECTORY as there is no justification for adding endless external links to articles just because they might be interesting. Apologies for not recommending Wikipedia:External links/Noticeboard as a more appropriate place to start. I'm glad to see that someone is moving this on your behalf so it can be discussed. You may want to check the guidance of WP:ELNO and consider the allowable alternative of linking to the impartial Sports/Soccer/News_and_Media at Curlie instead. June 2010[edit]

Hello. In case you didn't know, when you add content to talk pages and Wikipedia pages that have open discussion, such as on Wikipedia:Reliable sources/Noticeboard, you should sign your posts by typing four tildes ( ~~~~ ) at the end of your comment. You may also click on the signature button located above the edit window. This will automatically insert a signature with your username or IP address and the time you posted the comment. This information is useful because other editors will be able to tell who said what, and when. Thank you. — HelloAnnyong (say whaaat?!) 14:29, 30 June 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Another welcome[edit]

I just wanted to say welcome and comment on what's happening.

It's unfortunate that your first contributions have led to a discussion which is likely to result in them being undone. The fact that you've switched so quickly to seeking out the relevant discussion pages to find out what the problem is with inserting links to Transfermarkt shows that you' approach editing Wikipedia in a responsible manner. I hope that you aren't put off by Transfermarkt not being regarded as an appropriate source or external link. Actually, in all but exceptional cases, all wikis including Wikipedia itself are not regarded as WP:Reliable Sources.--Peter cohen (talk) 19:01, 30 June 2010 (UTC)[reply]
