Contributions being proposed for deletion[edit]
Hi Knollmania. It's always good to see a new user throwing themselves into the Wikipedia, and I hope you find that it's a good fun place to spend time. I've noticed that your two contributions so far are up for deletion, so I thought I might try to help you out:
- Firstly, please remember that this doesn't reflect on you or the quality of your writing. Everyone who uses Wikipedia has had something they wrote changed or deleted over time, and while it's really annoying to see that someone else doesn't think what you've written belongs here, that's the way it works. Still, it's all about discussion (as you've already noticed with the Talk pages), so there's nothing to say that you can't change someone else's mind.
- Secondly, regarding the article on The reason why is because, as an Encyclopedia we try to be "descriptive", rather than "prescriptive". In other words, you and I both know that this is bad grammar, but it's not our place to write an article saying as much. The idea, instead, is to write articles describing things. It's an easy trap to fall into, particularly if you're anything like me and hate the idea of people mucking up perfectly good English grammar, but that's the way we work.
- Related to that point, the tag which was added to the article describing it as "patent nonsense" was probably a bit over the top (I didn't add it, though). If I'd seen it, though, I would've added a similar tag explaining that it was too prescriptive an article. Like I said above, though, the fact that the article is nominated for deletion doesn't mean that the user thinks you shouldn't be here.
- Regarding the article on Sounds of star wars, I've made a similar point on its Talk page, but what we're in the business of doing here is documenting things which are notable, rather than everything which exists. In other words, you and I both exist as people but we're obviously not valid subjects for our own entries. Neither is every single book, movie or album ever released. A lot are, though, but not everything.

Hi BigHaz thank you for replying to my was-article. I have never wrote any articles before, except for those ones I wrote, and one I attempted, but was not added, and it was a grammar article too called "if I was you", which was about subjunctive errors. - I'm impressed that someone so young takes an interest in (and is good at) English grammar. Keep it up! The thing about articles on grammar, though, is that they normally belong in the long and boring articles on subjunctive case or whatever else the problem is, rather than just by themselves. Don't lose heart, though. I'm sure you'll be able to think of something you're interested in which you can either write a new article on or edit an existing one. As before, I'd be happy to help you find a topic to write on if you're drawing a blank. Oh, one other quick thing - when you're writing on Talk pages, always remember to sign your posts. Just put four tildes (the ~ symbol) at the end of your posts and they will expand out to your username and the date. That way it lets everyone keep track of who's saying what.
