Week 12 feedback: Overall the edits you've made look really good. You need to ensure your citations are inserted properly though (which they aren't right now-- you might want to review that training module). Other than that this looks ready to move over to live Wikipedia. For the final final you could do a few more edits or add one more source to make a more robust contribution, but the table is a lot of work and you did a good job with it. Things to work on for your Week 9 continued edits:

  • Evaluate an article: Go back to your article evaluation and pull out the list of things you said you could improve on the existing article. Put that list here in the talk page and cross things off as you do them (you can also edit what I have said below and cross things off as you complete them).
  • Copyedits: You did not do the Week 5 assignment, but you should go through the article you have assigned yourself and see if there are sections that need copyediting. Copy those sections, and then below that put the version with your edits bolded. Publish each as you go with explicit notes on what you changed from the original Wikipedia article. That way when you migrate your work to live Wikipedia you will be able to publish and explain each change as you go. Doing so is a required part of the Week 13 Wikipedia assignment
  • Bibliography: You did not do this week 6 assignment, and need to start building your bibliography.
  • Citing sources: You did not properly insert a citation here, and should review that training. You should start adding more content once you have built your bibliography. You should also make clear where in the existing Wikipedia article you edits/additions will go.
  • Adding media/hyperlinks: Good hyperlinks, and you should go through and see if there are things that should be hyperlinks in whatever you add and the existing article. You did not add an image, which was required for last week's assignment. If you plan to add media you should review that training. That said, be sure before you add media to the live Wikipedia article that it is actually necessary or contributes to the article (that is, you had to do it for this assignment, but in your final Wikipedia contributions don't add it just to add it).
  • Overall: You are starting to get on track, but you will need to go back and review trainings you missed or sped through to make sure you know how to do what you need to do in Wikipedia. You also really need to focus on the bigger picture of what you plan to add/edit here. Is there more in the existing article that needs copyediting? More citations you can use to expand on the sections you said needed to be developed more? The more planning you can do now the easier it will be for you to chip away at those edits between now and November 22 when you need to move your final edits to live Wikipedia.

Many universities have programs that research and develop immersive technology. Examples are Stanford's Virtual Human Interaction Lab, USC's Computer Graphics and Immersive Technologies Lab, Iowa State Virtual Reality Applications Center, University of Buffalo's VR Lab, Teesside University's Intelligent Virtual Environments Lab ,Liverpool John Moores University's Immersive Storyl lab ,University of Michigan Ann Arbor, Oklahoma State University and the University of Southern California. All of these universities and more are researching the advancement of the technology along with the different uses that VR could be applied to.

As well as universities the video game industry has received a massive boost from immersive technology specifically Augmented reality. The company Epic games is known for their popular game Fortnite generated 1.25 billion dollars in a round of investing in 2018 as they have a leading 3D development platform for AR apps. The U.S. Government requests information for immersive technology development and funds specific projects. This is for implementation in government branches in the future. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Kprejean (talkcontribs) 04:53, 15 December 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Immersive technology is applied in several areas, including retail and e-commerce,[9] the adult industry,[10] art,[11] entertainment and video games and interactive storytelling, military, education,[12][13] and medicine.[14] It is also growing in the Non-profit industry in fields such as disaster relief and conservation due to its ability to put a user in a situation that would elicit more of a real-world experience than just a picture giving them a stronger emotional connection to the situation they would be viewing. As immersive technology becomes more mainstream, it will likely pervade other industries. Also with the legalization of cannabis happening worldwide, the cannabis industry has seen a large growth in the immersive technology market to allow virtual tours of their facilities to engage potential customers and investors. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Kprejean (talkcontribs) 05:01, 15 December 2020 (UTC)[reply]
