If it is "general knowledge" and "not subjective, but actual fact" it should be easy for you to find a reliable source that supports the statement. The statement having been challenged, it is your responsibility to find and cite a source in order to reintroduce the statement (and not to reintroduce it without one). See WP:BURDEN. The tvtropes page does indeed mention jumping in first-person shooting games, but says nothing about third-person shooting games. The fact that it does not cannot be used to infer that the latter does not provide the ability for the player to jump, as you are trying to do. Your content is not supported by this citation.
