Celebs of the month

Ah, Ingrid, my most favourite actress!! When I see her, I'm like this. Hoffman's great too! Do see his Midnight Cowboy, Straw Dogs, Marathon Man and Straight Time when you get the chance. I assure you, these films are very safe.  — Ssven2 Speak 2 me 13:06, 19 August 2016 (UTC)

Yeah, all these films are on my must-see list and I'll get to them very, very soon. :) --Krimuk|90 (talk) 13:49, 19 August 2016 (UTC)

Hey! Do you anyone that would be able to review Khan's article? I nominated it for a GA last week. -- Bollywood Dreamz talk 19:01, 20 August 2016 (UTC)

I'm so sorry I've been no help at all. Do you want me to review it? --Krimuk|90 (talk) 19:11, 20 August 2016 (UTC)
It's all good! There's no need to apologize. I figured that you were busy, and after finding some good sources I was able to expand the article bit by bit. If you do have the time to review the article then please do! If not, no worries! Cheers :) (BTW, congrats on Catherine Zeta-Jones!) -- Bollywood Dreamz talk 19:26, 20 August 2016 (UTC)
Thank you. :) Cool, so give me a couple of days, and I'll review it myself. --Krimuk|90 (talk) 05:47, 21 August 2016 (UTC)
Sounds good. Thank you! :) -- Bollywood Dreamz talk 04:36, 22 August 2016 (UTC)

Good Article Review

Hello Krimuk90, I hope everything is fine. I was wondering if you have the time.. could you take up(look at/review) the "Game of Thrones" article(Talk:Game of Thrones), That has been nominated for a "Good Article". I am trying to later hopefully get this to a "Featured Article".. and I need some one to review and tell me what to fix/do to make that happen. AffeL (talk) 14:09, 24 August 2016 (UTC)

As a GoT fan I'd love to, but with my busy schedule, I don't want to make promises I can't keep. Give me a couple of days and if someone hasn't reviewed it yet, then I'll surely step in. Cheers! --Krimuk|90 (talk) 18:52, 24 August 2016 (UTC)

FLC request

Hi. Hope you're well. I was wondering if you'd be able to review another one of film accolades lists, this time on Cold War thriller Bridge of Spies, List of accolades received by Bridge of Spies (film)? Cowlibob (talk) 11:25, 27 August 2016 (UTC)

Sure thing. I'd also appreciate it if you could take a look at Ben Affleck filmography. --Krimuk|90 (talk) 08:28, 28 August 2016 (UTC)
Of course. I'd also like to point out that I've significantly expanded Karisma Kapoor filmography. Given your previous work on Indian film actresses, I don't know if you'd been interested in collaborating on it as a future FLC? Cowlibob (talk) 11:29, 28 August 2016 (UTC)
Sorry for the delay, but I have been awfully busy. I'd love to work on Kapoor's filmography. Do you want me to write the lead? I quite enjoy doing that. :) Krimuk|90 (talk) 08:31, 31 August 2016 (UTC)
That was exactly my thought. Look forward to what you come up with. Cowlibob (talk) 21:37, 31 August 2016 (UTC)

And a happy and prosperous new year 2017 to you!  — Ssven2 Looking at you, kid 08:05, 16 January 2017 (UTC)
Aww... thank you so much Ssven, that is so sweet. :) I wish you a very happy new year as well, and I hope everything's looking great in your life. --Krimuk2.0 (talk) 08:31, 16 January 2017 (UTC)
Indeed. I've graduated a couple of months back. BTW, Kailash29792, Vensatry and me have nominated Thala's filmography for FLC. Do let either of us know if you are willing to provide your comments here. Thanks, bro. Damn, I really missed you, my friend.  — Ssven2 Looking at you, kid 08:35, 16 January 2017 (UTC)
You're very kind. :) This song used to be so popular when I was a kid. And sure, I'll look at the nomination in a couple of days. Krimuk2.0 (talk) 12:19, 16 January 2017 (UTC)

Why did you changed the main image of page Shah Rukh Khan with a old image. The previous image was the latest and from 2016. Please reset that. We shouldn't use a 2012 clicked image, that was quite old. ARNAB22 (talk) 10:31, 16 January 2017 (UTC)

It's a much better head-shot, which is the main criteria for an infobox image. Cheers! Krimuk2.0 (talk) 12:19, 16 January 2017 (UTC)

A cheeseburger for you!

I saw your name pop-up on my watchlist when I was having probably the best cheeseburger of my life. I am really glad that you made the choice to return. Welcome back :)  — Yash talk stalk 07:10, 17 January 2017 (UTC)
Yum! Now you've got me craving a cheeseburger as well. Thank you, buddy. How are you doing? :) Krimuk2.0 (talk) 07:25, 17 January 2017 (UTC)
I just finished my second year theory finals - they didn't particularly go well but it happens. Did you watch XXX? I am probably going today (should I? :P).  — Yash talk stalk 07:29, 17 January 2017 (UTC)
Good luck with the grades. :) Naah, xXx is not something that interests me much, even though desh ki beti Deepika is in it. (:P) Have you seen La La Land? --Krimuk2.0 (talk) 07:44, 17 January 2017 (UTC)
xXx doesn't interest me either but all of my buddies are going and I have got nothing else to do. LLL was a good one - I am not a big fan of romantic films but I still enjoyed it. How about you?  — Yash talk stalk 08:05, 17 January 2017 (UTC)
I fell in love with the movie and have already seen it thrice. It's not a typical romantic film and I was deeply touched by it. The music is phenomenal and so were the performances, especially Emma's. That "Audition" song turned me into a gooey mess. My other two favourite films of the year were Moonlight and Arrival. Seen those? --Krimuk2.0 (talk) 08:47, 17 January 2017 (UTC)
I talked my friends out of watching xXx and went for LLL for the second time; I enjoyed it even more this time. I have watched Arrival and I loved it. I am yet to watch Moonlight though. Honestly, I have not enjoyed watching any film as much as I have enjoyed watching Deadpool - that is the movie of the year for me.  — Yash talk stalk 19:32, 17 January 2017 (UTC)
I enjoyed Deadpool a lot. We needed a foul-mouthed, pansexual superhero to jolt us from the fatigue of most other recent superhero films. Krimuk2.0 (talk) 12:34, 18 January 2017 (UTC)
Did end up going for xXx. Do. Not. Watch. It.  — Yash talk stalk 18:27, 18 January 2017 (UTC)
LMAO! Duly noted. Krimuk2.0 (talk) 04:06, 19 January 2017 (UTC)

(talk page stalker) BTW, I noticed you gave just 3 stars for Singin' In The Rain and 4.5 for La La Land? May I know the reason for it as the former is really a great egg. Haven't seen the latter, but from the trailer and a few scenes that is shown on TV, I feel it is a tad overrated.  — Ssven2 Looking at you, kid 08:47, 19 January 2017 (UTC)

Singin' in the Rain is a fun film - all song and dance, but not much depth. While I enjoyed it tremendously, and was very much entertained by it, my personal preference has always been grit over charm (The Umbrellas of Cherbourg, which I've forgotten to add to my list, is the opposite of that, and hence had a deeper impact on me). Similar to that, La La Land is a perfect example of what I love - a film with tremendous depth and melancholy, where the song and dance (as spectacular as they are) aid the narrative while not overpowering it. Krimuk2.0 (talk) 12:31, 19 January 2017 (UTC)

While you were away, Doc started this challenge along with many others. This one aims to make a 1000 improvements (of any kind, not just GA and FA, even stub creations are allowed) in Indian cinema. Would you like to join it?  — Ssven2 Looking at you, kid 08:21, 19 January 2017 (UTC)

P. S. a gentle reminder on Thala's FLC.  — Ssven2 Looking at you, kid 08:22, 19 January 2017 (UTC)

I think I'll stay away from expanding articles as of now. Will take it easy for the time being, but I'll look at your FLC shortly. Krimuk2.0 (talk) 12:32, 19 January 2017 (UTC)

Amy Adams

Did you watch the nominations? I am so upset right now, even more than Priyanka's NFA snub for Bajirao Mastani. It is so sad.Krish | Talk 14:16, 24 January 2017 (UTC)

Quite a shocking omission, that one. But I'm glad that my 3 favourites of the year, La La Land, Arrival and Moonlight, picked up so many nominations. Krimuk2.0 (talk) 15:49, 24 January 2017 (UTC)
Well La La Land and Arrival are also my favourite films of 2016, not seen Moonlight though. Considering her Janis Joplin movie has been cancelled, I am concerned whether she will win her Oscar by 2019 or ends up like Glenn Close.Krish | Talk 16:04, 24 January 2017 (UTC)
There's no reason to be disenchanted. Krimuk2.0 (talk) 16:12, 24 January 2017 (UTC)
Fingers crossed.Krish | Talk 16:26, 24 January 2017 (UTC)

Wait what? I thought I'd seen Adams' name here when I was adding Stone's nomination. There must be something wrong with my eyes. – FrB.TG (talk) 17:00, 24 January 2017 (UTC)

Sob, sob. :( --Krimuk2.0 (talk) 17:26, 24 January 2017 (UTC)
I don't know how can they incorrectly put her name in the official list and Ruth Negga's name in the streaming videos. I think there was something fishy about this mix up. What if Amy was nominated but just because Ruth's name was announced on TV, they had to deliberately remove Amy's name to save their own ass. It is possible, right?Krish | Talk 18:23, 24 January 2017 (UTC)
This is a very good read. --Krimuk2.0 (talk) 20:12, 24 January 2017 (UTC)
Yes, I read it earlier in the evening. This article pretty much says everything.Krish | Talk 21:14, 24 January 2017 (UTC)

Shah Rukh Khan cameo

Hi! This time I added a reference for SRK's cameo role in Dear Zindagi, but you again removed it. You also said that every cameo roles are unnecessary to mention, like for Ae Dil Hai Mushkil, OK I accept this. But please according to reference his role in DZ was an extended cameo. Thanks! M. Billoo 17:34, 25 January 2017 (UTC)

That reference was before the film's release and is wrong. He is not credited as a cameo/special appearance in the film, which is what we follow in Wikipedia. Cheers! --Krimuk2.0 (talk) 17:40, 25 January 2017 (UTC)
Then a/c to film, Kunal Kapoor and Ali Zafar were credited at #3 and #4, and others were given "special thanks", including Aditya Roy Kapur; Angad Bedi and Ira Dubey. M. Billoo 22:59, 25 January 2017 (UTC)
(talk page stalker) Well in that case M.Billoo2000, can you please refer to the closing credits of the film where the character names and the artistes were listed? None was credited as a cameo appearance, and Khan's name is mentioned in the second place right after that of Bhatt without any specifications. If he indeed made a cameo, we would have seen something like "Special thanks to Shah Rukh Khan" before the closing credits begin. Hope that helps. Pavanjandhyala (talk) 10:11, 26 January 2017 (UTC)

Best Picture

I think this was the worst moment in Oscar history, not the winner but the mix-up. To be honest when they announced La La Land, the film I was rooting for, I burst into tears only to find out that Moonlight had won instead and then I cried for real. LOL. I don't know what to say but I think Moonlight producers did a very good job by creating those racism and "no diversity" claim/campaign for La La Land. What do you think?Krish | Talk 12:12, 27 February 2017 (UTC)

That's a terrible thing to say. Both are great films that will go down in history as classics. The mix-up was indeed awful, but both films were equally deserving of the prize. --Krimuk2.0 (talk) 12:15, 27 February 2017 (UTC)
I know both films were great but La La Land started getting backlash after it received 14 nominations and not before. It can't be a co-incidence. Several people accused the film to be racist, fluffy and about "white people". By the way, Boyhood should have won Best Picture for the same reasons Moonlight did. Don't you think? It's really hard to understand how winners are determined.Krish | Talk 12:36, 27 February 2017 (UTC)
It's always going to be subjective when you have to pick one winner. At the end of the day what matters is how much these films touch us and the conversations that these films make us, film lovers, engage in. And both La La Land and Moonlight are deeply heartfelt films that have already created their own legacy, and have both been adequately (and deservedly) awarded by the Academy in key categories. Conspiracy theories take away from what films such as these stand for—good art! --Krimuk2.0 (talk) 12:41, 27 February 2017 (UTC)
Yeah! Well said. I don't think anyone's complaining. La La Land producers have millions of dollars, Emma, Damien and the music team have their Oscars and Ryan's got Chazelle's next film. And, Viola finally won her Oscar. The only thing which ruined the day was the mix-up.Krish | Talk 12:49, 27 February 2017 (UTC)
While I am happy for most of the winners, it is just displeasing that a non-white woman did not win Best Lead Actress. No pure non-white woman has ever won the Oscar (Halle Berry was born to a white woman and black father). And no sci-fi movie has ever won Best Picture (although I haven't seen Arrival but intend to, did it look worthy?) Kailash29792 (talk) 13:37, 27 February 2017 (UTC)
@Kailash29792: Well obviously Ruth Negga was the least deserving among those five to win in that category. I am glad Emma Stone won as she was brilliant in it but in most of the scenes she kind of blew my mind such as the "Audition", "pipe dream" where she says "Maybe I'm not good enough! May be I'm not" and the climax where she watches Sebastian playing the piano. If she hadn't won, people would have chosen Isabelle Huppert or Natalie Portman as both were extraordinary but their films were not widely seen and Portman had won recently so she had a kind of disadvantage. If you are talking in general than its alright because this year only three of them deserved that statue and they happened to be white. By the way, I am sure a non-white woman will win before the 100th ceremony maybe Viola can win but I want an Asian to win that first complete non-white Best Actress award because that is the only key to open doors for Asian actors in Hollywood. Forget about nominating Asians, there are not even roles for them so how can they even bag a film let alone getting a nomination. Asians have the worst representation in Hollywood and are mostly cast as taxi driver named "Dopinder" (really?). Now coming to Arrival, I think you should watch it right away because it is one the best films of the 21st century and will easily go down in history as one of the top 20 science fiction films of all time. And, it is also one of my top three films of the year after La La Land and Lion.Krish | Talk 03:57, 28 February 2017 (UTC)

Rangoon

I was very disappointed with the film and kind of felt bad for Kangana, who was consistently great from the beginning to end (Bizarre ending?). I can't believe Vishal Bhardwaj directed this. Some scenes were so cringe-worthy that I was laughing and I couldn't even control. Plus, why Indian movies stretch patriotism like a never ending rubber band?Krish | Talk 04:57, 25 February 2017 (UTC)

It really was disappointing for a Bhardwaj film! I HATED that ending with the god awful CG. But there were brilliant bits in it too, which is why it's sad that it had to end the way it did. --Krimuk2.0 (talk) 11:50, 26 February 2017 (UTC)
Should have done King Lear or Timon of Athens, naming it Taimur, I suppose.  — Ssven2 Looking at you, kid 15:13, 26 February 2017 (UTC)
Yes, Taimur. LOL! --Krimuk2.0 (talk) 06:14, 27 February 2017 (UTC)

TFL notification

Hi, Krimuk. I'm just posting to let you know that Meryl Streep on screen and stage – a list that you have been heavily involved with – has been chosen to appear on the Main Page as Today's featured list for March 24. The TFL blurb can be seen here. If you have any thoughts on the selection, please post them on my talk page or at TFL talk. Regards, Giants2008 (Talk) 23:20, 28 February 2017 (UTC)

Spielberg and Streep (with Hanks)

Aila!

How is Alia, a British actress? Shouldn't we call her a British born Indian actress? It's really confusing.Krish | Talk 12:49, 18 March 2017 (UTC)

Because her passport is British, and India prohibits dual citizenship. At least that's how much I know. Kailash29792 (talk) 13:02, 18 March 2017 (UTC)
Prohibiting dual citizenship? That's so old-fashioned, but maybe not for fear of terrorism, I suppose.  — Ssven2 Looking at you, kid 13:23, 18 March 2017 (UTC)

Why, thank you! Yes, I've been targeting the classics of the 50s this month. A Place in the Sun is next. And several more in your list will follow after that. I can email you the link to Auntie Mame if you want. I enjoyed the film tremendously. A bit too much for my age, to be honest. Haha! Krimuk2.0 (talk) 16:10, 18 March 2017 (UTC)

Did you get my e-mail? --Krimuk2.0 (talk) 19:09, 2 April 2017 (UTC)
Yeah, I did. Thanks. Gonna watch Auntie Mame now. BTW, how was The Quiet Man?  — Ssven2 Looking at you, kid 07:20, 3 April 2017 (UTC)
The Quiet Man was very entertaining, and the Irish countryside was lovely to look at. (The blatant sexism in so many of these older films annoys the fuck out of me, but I understand that's how things were at that time.) But I have to stress on how gorgeous Maureen O'Hara is! She's one of the most gorgeous women that I've ever seen. --Krimuk2.0 (talk) 07:29, 3 April 2017 (UTC)
Indeed. Doc was quite taken with her. You can check out more of her films like Miracle on 47th Street, Sindbad the Sailor (for her looks) and The Parent Trap to name a few. Watching Auntie Mame now. Russell is one of my most favourite actresses. You should see her in The Women. Her fight with Goddard is ultimate ROFL.  — Ssven2 Looking at you, kid 08:43, 3 April 2017 (UTC)
Yes, Russell has impeccable comic timing. One of my favourites too. The horse riding and the telephone operator scenes in Auntie Mame are two of the most hilarious things I've ever seen. :)) --Krimuk2.0 (talk) 09:07, 3 April 2017 (UTC)
So many attorneys! I'm coming up on the horse riding scene now! Watching it!  — Ssven2 Looking at you, kid 09:37, 3 April 2017 (UTC)

BTW, do try Witness for the Prosecution next. Laughton and Dietrich are top-notch in it.  — Ssven2 Looking at you, kid 09:16, 7 April 2017 (UTC)

Yep, I'll be watching that and Viva Zapata next. :)) --Krimuk2.0 (talk) 09:26, 7 April 2017 (UTC)
