Hi

This page looks good. Yeah, the page the page just bellied up died and came back blank. Blame it on [1]. I moved and have been mostly without internet a few days also. Good hearing from you. .--Dakota ~ 23:01, 12 May 2006 (UTC)

Education project

Hi Kukini, and welcome to Wikipedia:WikiProject Education. I set it up with great plans but haven't really got going on it myself. However, there are other active people, and you can always leave a message on the talk page to get feedback on anything that's bugging/confusing you. Cheers! Cormaggio @ 23:08, 12 May 2006 (UTC)

Hey, that's great! Good luck with the article (which one is it by the way?). Cormaggio @ 11:33, 13 May 2006 (UTC)

Potential RfA and your signature

Hi Kukini. I noticed on the RfA talk that you mentioned you're interested in eventually becoming an admin. One thing that will cost you a few "votes" when the time comes is your signature, which uses an image in it (the Hawaiian flag). Apparently this is against the rules (it uses up server-space or something). So you might want to drop in sometime before your RfA. All the best, Bucketsofg 23:16, 12 May 2006 (UTC)

The rule is at WP:SIG#Images_and_Appearance. Bucketsofg 23:36, 12 May 2006 (UTC)

Chat

I've never had the pleasure of interacting with you before and therefore you don't know me. I saw your comment in Joel's RfA page and I decided to check you out. After reading your User page I found my self wishing that their were more people like you in Wikipedia and the world in general. Thank you for being with us. Tony the Marine 01:24, 13 May 2006 (UTC)

Am I doing it right?

Since it was you that first welcomed me to Wikipedia, I look upon you as my guru! When you have time perhaps you could look at an article I am writing (Hand evaluation) just to see if I am approaching this in the correct way. Your comments (good or bad) would be welcomed. E-mail

Hey, I activated my e-mail from my preferences (validated it and everything) and enabled the "allow e-mail from other users" feature. Do I need to put a link or something on my User Page? Please Help! (Hpetwe 04:56, 16 May 2006 (UTC))

FINE

so leave the posting alone. i have been editing this page over & over again & it keeps on getting deleting by someone who says it's copyright & it's NOT.

I WROTE THE TEXT. How can it be copyright ? I WROTE IT.

Please explain:

1- where all you guys are popping up from?

2- do wikipedia-editors spend their life in front of their computer?

this is non-sense.

WIKIFYING & all

Thank you.

Why hasn't anyone been "civil" enough to mention this instead of deleting valid information that just needed to be "formated"?

If this issue would have been addressed, there would not have been any need to go to war with anyone. Aren't regular users aware?

How much time do they spend playing "Police" instead of "helpful" person like you?

WKIPEDIA CERTIFIED POLICE

Or maybe this site has been bought by RUpert Merdoch, as well ?

Well, so much for that, Kukini.

The Erik Brunetti page has been deleted - YET AGAIN - (i think this is the 17th time) and the person who did it erased ALL history (AGAIN)

Am I facing internet cowards, or what?

I don<t have time for this crap.

What wikipedia crime am I commiting exactly? Because I will continue to repost. And re-post. The information is valid, it just needs to be WIkified as you suggested. But THEY don't even leave me any time to do this.

I want to speak to the owner.

Augustinian Category

Cor Unum Hi Kukini - oops - on the schools project I asked for a category "Augustinian Schools in Australia" (to narrow)- when it should have just been "Augustinian Schools" (like the rest of them). Are you an admin who can fix that category for Villanova College and St. Augustine's College, Brookvale?

Sorry

Hi sorry that image was posted on my account. My mates thought it would be funny to post stuff on my account.

Next time ill log out when i leave the PC

Sorry

Hey dude

People will do what they want in this world. Don't worry about it, or you'll give yourself a sick fit of temper. No-one likes to see that. Incidentally, that image of two shaking hands initially appeared - to my bleary, myoptic eyes - like a bird of prey pleasuring itself with a chocolate-covered glove. --62.255.232.76 13:50, 17 May 2006 (UTC)

Sorry I wasn't clearer. I'm referring to your comment that because another user had the temerity to question your judgement, they were "acting like an admin". Everyone has the right to a backbone. --62.255.232.76 13:57, 17 May 2006 (UTC)
Read what you said at User:DakotaKahn if you still don't quite recall. --62.255.232.76 14:16, 17 May 2006 (UTC)

acting like an admin

I'm a little confused by your comment on DakotaKhan's talk page about me 'acting like an admin" because I removed a speedy tag of yours. I went through the CSD yesterday afternoon and dropped some tags that may not have been appropriate; any user can do that, they don't have to be an admin. Only admins can delete them, but it saves them time if other people can review the candidates and remove inappropriate tags.

I looked through my contributions and yours and couldn't find anything that stuck out (possibly because the page ended up being deleted anyway). The only thing I remember that might have been what you're talking about was removing a "does not assert the notability of the subject" speedy tag on a book article that absolutely did assert its own notability as "changing the way we do business" or some such. I don't have the expertise to decide if it was a true assertion or not, but the simple non-farcial assertion does exempt it from CSD A7. Was that it?

Best of luck. -- nae'blis (talk) 16:24, 17 May 2006 (UTC)

My reading of WP:CSD is that only the original/main contributor to the article is prohibited from removing the tag, although it's unusual to see it happen, since most taggings are straightforward). I'm glad to hear the matter got solved/resolved eventually. Thanks for the response. -- nae'blis (talk) 19:51, 17 May 2006 (UTC)
I understand your concern about the appearance of impropriety. However after a conversation with Jimbo back in the day, I came to the realization that the difference isn't (or shouldn't) be between 'admin' and 'user', but 'trusted editor' and 'untested editor'. Since I have no intentions of ever becoming an Admin here, I see no reason to limit myself from the things I am ethically/intellectually/programatically able to do here. Closing uncontroversial keep AFDs, for example, is something ordinary users can do to help out, even though you rarely see it. -- nae'blis (talk) 22:29, 18 May 2006 (UTC)

Fandango Squad

Hello, Kukini. You posted the "notability concern & bolding" prompt on the Fandango Squad article earlier tonight. At just about the same time, I was posting a speedy delete prompt since I regard the article to be patent nonsense. At any rate, the original page creator (can't recall the name now) removed my speedy delete prompt. I have since put it back. But, isn't it a violation of Wikipedia's rules to remove such a prompt? I am not sure who I should turn to in order to have this situation handled. Any advice you can give would be appreciated. --Charles 04:14, 19 May 2006 (UTC)

Esperanza

Now that I'm a member of Esperanza, what do I need to do? (Hpetwe 01:15, 20 May 2006 (UTC))When using template tags on talk pages, don't forget to substitute with text by adding subst: to the template tag. For example, use {{subst:test}} instead of {{test}}. This reduces server load and prevents accidental blanking of the template. No! This is it.

Thanks from Starionwolf

My RFA

Thank you, Kukini, for voting in my RFA. It closed with a final result of 75/1/0. Now that I am an administrator here, I will continue to improve this encyclopedia, using my new tools to revert vandalism, block persistent vandals, protect pages that have been vandalized intensively, and close AFD discussions. Any questions? Please contact me by adding a new section on my talk page. Again, thanks to all of you who participated!!! -- King of 23:18, 20 May 2006 (UTC)

VandalProof 1.2 Now Available

After a lenghty, but much-needed Wikibreak, I'm happy to announce that version 1.2 of VandalProof is now available for download! Beyond fixing some of the most obnoxious bugs, like the persistent crash on start-up that many have experienced, version 1.2 also offers a wide variety of new features, including a stub-sorter, a global user whitelist and blacklist, navigational controls, and greater customization. You can find a full list of the new features here. While I believe this release to be a significant improvement over the last, it's nonetheless nowhere near the end of the line for VandalProof. Thanks to Rob Church, I now have an account on test.wikipedia.org with SysOp rights and have already been hard at work incorporating administrative tools into VandalProof, which I plan to make available in the near future. An example of one such SysOp tool that I'm working on incorporating is my simple history merge tool, which simplifies the process of performing history merges from one article into another. Anyway, if you haven't already, I'd encourage you to download and install version 1.2 and take it out for a test-drive. As always, your suggestions for improvement are always appreciated, and I hope that you will find this new version useful. Happy editing! --AmiDaniel (talk) 02:51, 21 May 2006 (UTC)

Your welcome template

I think your welcome template is one of the best and I begun using it today, however could you modify it so the welcome header gives the name/signature of the user using it, not yours? It is somewhat confusing now. Of course if you want the template to mention it was your creation and link to your page, I have no problems with it, you done a great job and deserve credit for it.--Piotr Konieczny aka Prokonsul Piotrus Talk 19:20, 23 May 2006 (UTC)

It is now fixed. Thanks for the compliment, it is my favorite welcome template. Kukini 19:57, 23 May 2006 (UTC)

Recent Related Changes Tool

I got something up and running that should help make adding the OK or AZ templates to talk pages easier as well as adding the articles to the recent changes page. Check out User:Ashlux/RelatedChangesTab. Let me know if you need any help. Take a look at the TODO list since it'll inform you of some of the limitations (only article pages work right now, for example). And if you have a better name for this, let me know. Or anything else you'd like to see done for that matter. Ash Lux 20:16, 23 May 2006 (UTC)
