Speedy deletion[edit]

I noticed that you tagged the page List of anime clichés for speedy deletion with the reason "Original research, cruft -- WP:OR". However, "Original research, cruft -- WP:OR" is not currently one of our criteria for speedy deletion, so I have removed the speedy deletion tag. You can use Wikipedia:Articles for deletion if you still want the page to be deleted. Thanks! Additionally, please do not subst speedy deletion tags. Stifle (talk) 02:02, 1 August 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Removal of Category:Manga from articles[edit]

Why are you removing this category from articles instead of sorting the articles into more specific categories? All of the articles you removed it from are about manga, so they belong in that category or one of its sub-categories. ···日本穣? · Talk to Nihonjoe 18:51, 5 August 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks. Great! Could you see if the December 2003 edition of Newtype USA contains any popularity and sales/viewers on RahXephon? (DVD sales were on in U.S.), and for the July 2005 issue any viewer numbers and popularity (if was airing on G4 in the US)? I'm talking about just those ratings pages here. --GunnarRene 20:07, 12 August 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Case Closed--No References at all?[edit]

You mentioned on the talk page that the named article have "no reference at all". I have to accept there is a lack of reference in the article and I would improve over that-- but, I dispute the usage of [no... at all]. There are a few embedded links in the article, especially when the information mentioned is new.

Also, a style question I have to ask: for example I want to cite source on this: These movies are often the second best selling domestic movie in Japan after the Studio Ghibli movies. There are 10 movies at all, and should I have 10 references from the official source to show that? Samuel Curtis 03:00, 14 August 2006 (UTC)[reply]

I don't remember saying that, but I likely something that I said.
I don't consider those type of links to be references, but they could be turned into them. Compare Case Closed to Planetes, and you'll see what I mean. The link references should be converted to use proper, inline citations for websites. (See: WP:CITE, I think, or just copy a sample code from Planetes or Excel Saga.)
Also, you can maybe use something from [3] for source material.
I don't know exactly how to go about sourcing that statement. What are the sources? You shouldn't need all ten. You could make a detailed footnote on the subject, but it might be better to hunt up a statement of that sort by a third party person. --Kunzite 04:04, 14 August 2006 (UTC)[reply]
That line about sources is actually the reason for downgrading the article from B to Start.
I personally think the ranking pages still exist in reputable protal sites, like Yahoo! Japan. Of course the rank hasn't been out this year, but then... (OK, I got off-topic now.) --Samuel Curtis 12:40, 14 August 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Articles that are assessed as B-Class[edit]

Hi, I was wondering what your personal interpretation of what makes an article a B-Class assessed article. I noticed that you demoted a couple to start class stating that they had no references. That's fine, but if a reference was added, then would that satisfy your interpretation for that article becoming a B-Class article again? --Squilibob 06:52, 17 August 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Megatokyo[edit]

Here is why Megatokyo should be treated differently:

  1. As Nihonjoe states, no transliteration was involved in Megatokyo - I.E. MOS:JA does not apply
  2. Megatokyo is treated differently because the names in Japansese order were never transliterated - The original English-language author chose to put the names in that order. The order switching has to do with localization and adaptation into the English language. In the case of Megatokyo, there is no adaptation.
  3. What would be the point of switching the names when a person who reads the article would then read the comic and notice the Japanese order names? That person would be confused as to why Wikipedia would switch the order around.

School Rumble[edit]

If we will use Western order with School Rumble, we shall use FUNimation's romanizations, since, AFAIK, it is almost certain FUNimation will use Western order. WhisperToMe 01:10, 7 November 2006 (UTC)[reply]

I really don't see the need to link a name order to a romanization. Name order is dicated by the MOS-JA. Romanization is dictated by a number of factors -- i.e. most used (per MOS), most correct (per Tessaiga decision in the MOS-JA), uniformity, officialness, etc. The names actually need to be updated to MOS-JA GN-SN (Kanji, SN-GN) format. --Kunzite 01:39, 7 November 2006 (UTC)[reply]
You sure? The name order only applies to people in the MOS; the naming order of fictional character is decided on a series by series basis. The reason Naruto's in Western order: series decision. WhisperToMe 02:45, 7 November 2006 (UTC)[reply]
The naming order for series is decided by the MOS-JA and exceptions are made on a case-by-case basis. i.e. Pre-Meiji or puns that would be destroyed by fippling the name. Anyone who seeks to change the naming order, to me, is petitioning for exemption from the MOS-JA for whatever reasoning. Naruto wasn't given the exemption because of the results of the discussion. The MOS-JA uses the word "figure" to describe the use of name order. I take that to include "famous fictional characters" as well as "famous barron of industry" or "famous maker of laws" --Kunzite 03:02, 7 November 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Moving of my Kiba anime Articles[edit]

Hello my fellow friend Kunzite. I have noticed that you have redirected practically every one of my individual Kiba articles into the main Kiba anime article. I would like it if you would refrain from such actions. This is due to the fact that the Kiba main anime article will end up becoming unorganized due to such an exceedingly high level of information. My goal is to create a list of characters, countries, items, and so forth within Kiba that possess their own article. Due to the fact that all of these articles require many images, this is another factor in which why they should remain as individual articles instead of being pushed into a full article that will only be seen as messy. When the anime continues on, I will place pictures as to reflect a certain type of event that may have occured within a character's story, and so forth. Considering the fact that many are complaining about the amount of pictures within the Kiba main article and the unorganization due to the amount of info, it would be best if each character would receive a minor summary, while they are linked off into their own article where many pictures and miscellaneous information will be present. This will result in making the main article more organized and help reflect the profficiency of Wikipedia in it's organization. However, I do thank you for your contribution to wikipedia in such a way, even if it wasn't the truly right choice. Please remember to look more depply into things such as this before directing specific articles in a given direction. Thanks!

Mario Fantasy X Anime AFD:[edit]

Your comments in response to my "Merge, if not delete" vote were uncalled for & were in my opinion ratehr rude & abrupt. I'd appreciate if you could show a bit more courtesy when dealing with other people who have other things to do than go through mario cart races to find an actual article. Thanks & have a nice day, Spawn Man 00:28, 27 November 2006 (UTC)[reply]

First of all, AFD is not a vote. It's a debate. If one does not have the time to check the facts presented in an AFD, as the AFD page suggests, "consider not participating". (And I said "please".) --Kunzite 01:50, 27 November 2006 (UTC)[reply]
I didn't know the exact article name. There could very well have been an article to which it could have been merged, but it was under a different name. I have numerous edits to make. I don't have the time to go looking for an exact match for an article which was to be deleted in a matter of days anyway... Saying please doesn't always make things civil. For example, if someone was to swear, or say F* off please, that would make in none the more civil. The fact you made an underhanded coment about someone you don't, & never have known & simply said please, does not make it perfectly alright. I was deeply hurt by your unfounded accusatory statement. I would appreciate not continuing the discussion & would like the matter to dissolve altogether for the good of us all. Just be aware next time of other's feelings & that saying that people don't work hard enough might just hurt those feelings. You may not get someone who is as nice as me next time... Spawn Man 05:16, 27 November 2006 (UTC)[reply]
I am sorry if the wording of my comment offended you. As I said, you should always research merge points before you suggest them. If you don't have time, then you shouldn't participate in AFDs. The game was a fan-made game, it shouldn't have had a article to merge too. If it did, the article should be listed for deletion as well. --Kunzite 05:54, 27 November 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Image:Tuheitia Paki--Maori King.jpg[edit]

Thanks for uploading Image:Tuheitia Paki--Maori King.jpg. I notice the 'image' page specifies that the image is being used under fair use, but its use in Wikipedia articles fails our first fair use criterion in that it illustrates a subject for which a freely licensed image could reasonably be found or created that provides substantially the same information. If you believe this image is not replaceable, please:

  1. Go to the image description page and edit it to add {{Replaceable fair use disputed}}, without deleting the original Replaceable fair use template.
  2. On the image discussion page, write the reason why this image is not replaceable at all.

Alternatively, you can also choose to replace the fair use image by finding a freely licensed image of its subject, requesting that the copyright holder release this (or a similar) image under a free license, or by taking a picture of it yourself.

If you have uploaded other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified how these images fully satisfy our fair use criteria. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on this link. Note that any fair use images which are replaceable by free-licensed alternatives will be deleted one week after they have been uploaded, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. Oden 10:12, 29 November 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Various userspace subpages[edit]

I don't mean to be a userspace nanny, but User:Kunzite/animeessay looks rather unrelated to the encyclopedia, and filled with fair use images, to boot. Mind doing something about that? User:Kunzite/KG is similarly full of fair use images, and hasn't been edited in a while. I'll help you push it out to articlespace if you want. And am I right in assuming you wanted User:Kunzite/Conan Source deleted? In the future, just put {{db-userreq}} on such a page. That's all. --Slowking Man 17:28, 3 December 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Negation of Information[edit]

Hello my fellow wikipedian, Kunzite. I have noticed that within the Characters of Kiba article, you have deleted the additional information that I have added to Hugh, and brought back poor translation to the varied titles. The information that I added to Hugh was of need, and the title of each country had been off - such as Tempura being "Templar". Thus, I would like to ask the reason for your action before I revert my contribution -- as like I should.
