Disambiguation entries

Please do not add entries to disambiguation pages for minor entities in video games. The absolute minimum required for an entry is that the topic be described in a useful way on the linked article. (just replying here instead of on my talk page) No need to apologize and I wouldn't say you're "editing incorrectly" like you said on my talk page. All you did was guess that disambiguation pages like Octavia and Garuda (disambiguation) are meant to list every possible usage or meaning of that term, which many, many new editors before you have also done. It's an easy conclusion to come to and could've been the way Wikipedia chose for those pages to work. Instead though, it was decided that disambiguation pages would just serve to guide readers to a page that at least has some information about that usage. That way readers aren't disappointed by arriving somewhere that doesn't help them and it keeps the disambiguation pages from being absolutely full of very trivial references. For example, you added the Ghost vehicle from Halo, which is a neat vehicle, but not important enough that it's mentioned on the Halo page. Similarly, I'm sure there are hundreds, if not thousands, of minor uses of the term "Ghost" in other games, novels, garage bands, etc that if we included them all it would become nearly impossible to find the truly significant topics that most readers are looking for. I hope this clarified a bit and that you don't feel discouraged from editing further. Everyone's new at some point and Wikipedia is so vast, with so many different policies and guidelines, that there's always more to learn. Sometimes it's frustrating, but other times very satisfying when you feel you've contributed to such a big project. Anyway, let me know if I can answer any questions. How would one react fast to vandalism without bots? Also, am I able to make a bot (I was curious), and is it difficult, or only special users? Kuro・(Kuro's talk page) 14:34, 19 February 2021 (UTC)

The easiest way I know of to fight vandalism is to participate in Wikipedia:Recent changes patrol, granted it is sometimes difficult to clean up some vandalism before another patroller has already taken care of it. I don't know an awful lot about bots, so I'll have to direct you to Help:Creating a bot. It looks like any user can create a bot, but it then needs approval. As far as difficulty, I imagine it depends on how much programming experience you have. Hope that helps! -- Fyrael (talk) 15:16, 19 February 2021 (UTC)

Problem with your custom signature

You have a custom signature set in your account preferences. A change to Wikipedia's software has made your current custom signature incompatible with the software.

The problem: Your preferences are set to interpret your custom signature as wikitext. However, your current custom signature does not contain any wikitext.

The solutions: You can reset your signature to the default, or you can fix your signature.

Solution 1: Reset your signature to the default:

1. Find the signature section in the first tab of Special:Preferences.
2. Uncheck the box (☑︎→☐) that says "Treat the above as wiki markup."
3. Remove anything in the Signature: text box. (It might already be empty.)
4. Click the blue "Save" button at the bottom of the page. (The red "Restore all default settings" button will reset all of your preference settings, not just the signature.)

Solution 2: Fix your custom signature:

1. Find the signature section in the first tab of Special:Preferences.
2. Uncheck the box (☑︎→☐) that says "Treat the above as wiki markup."
3. Click the blue "Save" button at the bottom of the page.
