Gregory Rose

Can you still see the Talk page for Gregory Rose? It explains quite clearly why I think he is notable in the Wikipedia sense. Amongst other things 8000 hits as composer and conductor. Pol098 (talk) 23:35, 18 June 2008 (UTC)[reply]

OK, if you think composer and conductor Gregory Rose should be deleted after checking his credentials and CDs and 8000 Google hits and my detailed Talk page (first version) I don't care enough to argue. But please delete Gregory G. Rose (a different person) who eminently needs it! Pol098 (talk) 23:35, 18 June 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Hi, would you undelete K-value, please? I want to see if there is any mergeable material; otherwise I will redirect the page. Smile a While (talk) 20:21, 21 June 2008 (UTC)[reply]

You closed an AfD

Hi there: Some months ago, you closed an AfD at Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Kord (band) and deleted the page. I assisted the individual who created the page by putting the deleted material into a sandbox, and now s/he has asked me to take the article to deletion review. I've had a look at the article (found at User:Drokstef/Sandbox, along with some material on the associated talk page) and, to the best of my knowledge, it meets WP:MUSIC in at least two respects, the main one being that the band had a charted hit on the Romanian pop charts. I've never taken an article to deletion review before, but the instructions tell me that the first thing I should do is contact the deleting administrator. May I ask for your opinion, or any comments you'd care to offer? I note that you have listed yourself as being relatively inactive so, without meaning to pressure you, I'll wait a week before proceeding any further in the hope that you will find the time to comment. RfA Review

Hello Kurykh. I've noticed that you have a completed set of responses to the RfA Review question phase at User:Kurykh/RfA review , but they don't seem to be included on the list of responses here. If you've completed your responses, please can you head to Wikipedia:RfA Review/Question/Responses and add a link to them at the bottom of the list so that they get included in the research. We have a closing date of midnight UTC on 1st July, so please add your link before this date. Once again, thank you for taking the time to participate in the Question Phase of RfA Review.Gazimoff WriteRead 15:06, 27 June 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Won't this still violate wikipedia policy?. --SkyWalker (talk) 04:06, 4 July 2008 (UTC)[reply]
I don't know. It violates because WP:NOT and it is a game guide?. --SkyWalker (talk) 04:34, 4 July 2008 (UTC)[reply]
Ok. But i don't see how that article can be improved and if even so it would nominated for deletion. It is quite strange to find that some of the article does not deserve to be here in wikipedia is here. I was look at the [1] reference which the above user is given out of 1,080,000 only 2 of them list crusader equipment. --SkyWalker (talk) 04:45, 4 July 2008 (UTC)[reply]
I see. Thanks. --SkyWalker (talk) 04:52, 4 July 2008 (UTC)[reply]
I have subscriptions to a variety of game magazines (stacked up at my parent's house so I cannot always get through them in the five day AfD) and I have typically come across published references in these reliable sources with out of univser comments on weapons that do not always show up in Google searches, which is why over time I am able to improve the articles further. Remember, Wikipedia:Wikipedia is a work in progress. Sincerely, --Happy Independence Day! Le Grand Roi des CitrouillesTally-ho! 06:28, 4 July 2008 (UTC)[reply]
Thanks, I will remember that. --SkyWalker (talk) 07:12, 4 July 2008 (UTC)[reply]
You're welcome! As you can see here, I and some others will indeed work on these kinds of articles when userfied. --Happy Independence Day! Le Grand Roi des CitrouillesTally-ho! 07:14, 4 July 2008 (UTC)[reply]
I was not aware we can do that. I always thought this sort of articles violates wikipedia policy and i never thought of a userpage. --SkyWalker (talk) 07:29, 4 July 2008 (UTC)[reply]

muni

for the time being just the ones between embarcadero & caltrain depot/4th & king, as it came off as an annoying gap to me. i think i might work my way down the T third line, and then maybe the F market, but i dont think i'll do anything with the K L J or M anytime soonMyheartinchile (talk) 22:13, 8 July 2008 (UTC)[reply]

yeah any article on non platformed stations is far away, if i saw the ridership figures then maybe i'd consider it, or make an article that covers multiple stops if theyre all non stations for a while. as for being condecending i wasn't and i'm from san francisco too, i take bart every day yo. just chill out, its hot today go to the beach...I CAN'T i have to go to work. at least we've got air conditioning at american eagle.Myheartinchile (talk) 22:22, 8 July 2008 (UTC)[reply]

ouch that blows. i'm going tomorrow. was checking out some sweet cheap mini long boards online too. p.s. i still disagree with you. a station is a station is a station.Myheartinchile (talk) 05:36, 9 July 2008 (UTC)[reply]

well fuck. the blame is on goggle maps my friend which is where i followed the line and got the station names from. as for Gene Friend we should use the proper muni name for the station name but the proper street name lane for the address in the infobox and for the description of its location in the text, right? what about slash/van dyke?Myheartinchile (talk) 07:02, 10 July 2008 (UTC)[reply]

p.s. thanks so much for cleaning up after me, i notced the big mistake i made with the next/previous template right when i got to sunnydale and was dreading the fix since i reversed them right?Myheartinchile (talk) 07:03, 10 July 2008 (UTC)[reply]

what about the muni map or the official name. i think we should include van dyke for practicality since all the other stations show the double intersections dual namings.

but the trains say T THIRD SUNNYDALE/VISITATION

VALLEY
are you sure? i've seen Sunnydale/Visitacion Valley though
thats annoying! i think it looks better with the shorthand!
how is it being at all uninformative, its clutter to state the official long name three times in one article, jeez.Myheartinchile (talk) 01:23, 12 July 2008 (UTC)[reply]
i'm not mad at you i'm just fristrated.Myheartinchile (talk) 01:37, 12 July 2008 (UTC)[reply]
those policies are recommendations and from what i read don't take up the shorthand or not issue my friend. would you be so kind to point out if there are any?Myheartinchile (talk) 02:35, 12 July 2008 (UTC)[reply]
uhh no it doesn't, look at the capitol corridor's article and look at the vertical line map in the infobox, there are several stations that are going to be built soon, at Travis Air Force Base, Dixon, Benicia, Hercules amoung others. And this is well sourced too.Myheartinchile (talk) 20:43, 12 July 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Gabriel Murphy AfD Closure

Hello Kurykh- I believe you made an error by closing the AfD discussion for the article "Gabriel Murphy" at http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wikipedia:Articles_for_deletion/Log/2008_July_5#Gabriel_Murphy. There were just as many keep votes as there were deletes. Regardless, there was no concensus at all. I ask that you leave the AdF open for discussion and restore the article at once. Per the AdF, if no consensus is reached, the result is to keep. I think you made a very obvious error in closing and deleting the article. It just passed deletion review on June 28! LakeBoater (talk) 19:27, 11 July 2008 (UTC)[reply]

LakeBoater, you are mistaken as to the outcome of the discussion. However, if you don't agree with it, please take this to deletion review. Gwen Gale (talk) 19:39, 11 July 2008 (UTC)[reply]

calm down. jeez. the only thing resembling a personal attack is your accusing me of one. as for the term selfish, it was an accurate term regarding the rationale used for a particular edit. it would be true of anyone making a similar claim even myself and was not meant to disparage. and i must politely refuse to apologize, in fact may i remind you of certain statements you have made about myself before?MYINchile 22:07, 15 July 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Hi Kurykh, I'd recommend unblcoking him in accordance with the BLP policies. Most new editors that see incorrect or slanderous edits get upset and remove them. There is a relvant section on guidleines that say don't block but rather see if the complaints have merit. The section that this user was removing was a blatant BLP problem and has been addressed. I suggest unblocking (even though there were vague threats). I think an unblock would be in the spirit of WP:NEWBIE and not chill peoples desire to remove poorly sourced information from Bios. If he hadn't made those threats and been reported to ANI, the nio would probably still have issues. --DHeyward (talk) 16:39, 23 July 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Unprotect San Diego, please

Near as I can tell, the San Diego, California article has been protected since January, when you added protection to it for some acts of vandalism. I think this article might have qualified for temporary page protection back in January, but I think it is time to remove the protection, if only to see if it would qualify for permanent protection. I noticed your edit here. I would like to let you know that we (chemists) don't stack super/subscripts in such a context. Thanks. --Rifleman 82 (talk) 13:46, 9 October 2008 (UTC)[reply]

AfD result

Hi. I am not going to argue against the deletion decision of Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Laurentian Wesleyan Church but with 5 delete suggestions and 4 keep or merge suggestions, the consensus was not so clear that your closing summary ought to be a diminutive "result is delete". Could you please state how you determined consensus in your rationale when closing AfDs. Thanks, DoubleBlue (Talk) 05:49, 14 October 2008 (UTC)[reply]

I don't actually dispute your delete decision; I just think that a brief explanation of how closers decide consensus, particularly when it's not obvious by !vote count, is helpful. Even just saying "the keep suggestions were not grounded in policy nor guidelines" would be sufficient. Thanks for your reply, though. Cheers! DoubleBlue (Talk) 06:12, 14 October 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Relisting AFDs

Just to let you know that there has recently been an update to the guidelines on relisting AFDs. Specifically, AFDs should almost never be relisted more than once and should be closed as no consensus instead. I've closed Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/List of Malaysian coats of arms accordingly. Stifle (talk) 11:03, 14 October 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Eljay Connors

Hi there, I was wondering why you closed the AfD on Eljay Connors when I was about the only one who commented about getting reliable sources to verify his notability - which if you google his name you find two very easily. I edit on a PDA at times which makes it hard to cut and paste refs, but the other editors obviously didn't look too hard for sources, just jumped on the WP:ATHLETE guideline, not the WP:RS policy. Could you retrieve a version into my sandbox and I'll pass it by you or others before recreating. Or do I have to take it to the deletion review page first?The-Pope (talk) 09:32, 21 October 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Megan Rose Gedris

I'm a bit curious about your closure of Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Megan Rose Gedris. I know they aren't !votes, but there were more deletes. And the argument for keeping basically rested on the Curve article, which is five questions and answers, a short interview. Surely that doesn't satisfy "significant coverage from multiple independent reliable sources"? I'll watch here. Thanks! -- SatyrTN (talk / contribs) 17:29, 26 October 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Hi! Could you review the above and let me know your reasoning for the "No consensus"? Thanks! -- SatyrTN (talk / contribs) 15:43, 28 October 2008 (UTC)[reply]
Whether it is "significant coverage from multiple independent reliable sources" is not for me to decide. Both sides had, in my view, equally valid arguments, so I stand by my closure. —kurykh 23:35, 28 October 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Regarding Dungeon Master

Hoping you can help. The anonymous ip that created the recently deleted Dungeon Master spells article, tried to circumvent it by taking all the info from that page and merging it in to the main dungeon master page. I removed all the game guide material from that page, including his attempt to circumvent, and he's started going back and forth about it on my talk page. As the admin that closed it, I'm hoping you can pop on my talk page and explain it to him further as I don't seem to be getting through. --Marty Goldberg (talk) 16:59, 29 October 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Dave Cortese

I appreciate your earlier help with the Dave_Cortese page. Someone new and unregistered has come along and added more text to the article, and the result seems... less than neutral. I've got skin in the game (I've endorsed his opponent), so I don't feel comfortable making substantive edits to that page. Can you take a glance at it and see if you think further edits are warranted? I added the POV tag for the time being.

I don't disagree with the factual assertions in the edits - just that they are selective and strictly positive, particularly the SJMN quote. Jokeboy (talk) 18:41, 29 October 2008 (UTC)[reply]
