Excellent work! I am an occasional visitor (mostly to hike the long trail) and this article was sadly lacking, you've done a great job with it. And welcome to Wikipedia by the way, if you need any help feel free to ask me. --W.marsh 17:07, 8 January 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Per WP:DATE and WP:CONTEXT, solitary year, year-month and month links (e.g. 2006, April 2006, April etc.) should not be inserted unless there is a very good reason to. However, dates that include the day of the month and the month (e.g. April 18 or April 18 2006) can be linked, so that users' date preferences can work. Thanks. Boston Whaler[edit]

Thanks for explaining why Mercury outboards are significant to the Whaler. It was starting to sound like a Brunswick ad in the article. I was originally going to include the sawing bit, but wanted to find references. Will they sink if sawn from starboard to port?--J Clear 11:23, 24 June 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Greetings. I'm just dropping a line to all Louisville residents I can find to ask them to consider joining the new WikiProject Louisville. It has been determined there is a *lot* of work to do yet remaining for Louisville-related subjects, and therefore we would definitely appreciate your presence. If by chance you are unable to join us, that's all right, but if you can, please tell other Louisvillians about this worthy project. Thank you for your time! —  Stevie is the man!  Talk | Work 00:32, 27 July 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Your edits to "Weird Al" Yankovic[edit]

Hi. Just a quick comment regarding your edits to quotation marks and other punctuation in the article. WP:MoS has certain guidlines regarding quotes where punctuation is inside/outside the quotation marks. I suggest you read that for the more accepted way of editing quotations. ~ Gromreaper 04:05, 27 October 2006 (UTC)[reply]

WikiProject Louisville growing and changing[edit]

WikiProject Louisville is sprouting its wings for 2007! We have a new Assessment Department and a much more refined project template. We have nearly 1,000 articles catalogued for our project. And we still have a lot of work to do. We have 500+ articles left to assess for quality, and all our articles, as always, need tender loving care. Please consider dropping by the project and seeing what you might be able to do to move Louisville-related articles forward. Cheers, and Happy New Year! Stevie is the man! Fair use rationale for Image:AlexBeatonsScotland.jpg[edit]

Thanks for uploading or contributing to Image:AlexBeatonsScotland.jpg. I notice the image page specifies that the image is being used under fair use but there is not a suitable explanation or rationale as to why each specific use in Wikipedia constitutes fair use. Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale.

If you have uploaded other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on those pages too. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. Note that any non-free media lacking such an explanation will be deleted one week after they have been uploaded, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. NOTE: once you correct this, please remove the tag from the image's page. Disputed fair use rationale for Image:The Cumberland Three.jpg[edit]

Thanks for uploading Image:The Cumberland Three.jpg. However, there is a concern that the rationale you have provided for using this image under "fair use" may be invalid. Please read the instructions at Wikipedia:Non-free content carefully, then go to the image description page and clarify why you think the image qualifies for fair use. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to ensure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.

If it is determined that the image does not qualify under fair use, it will be deleted within a couple of days according to our criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the media copyright questions page. Thank you.BetacommandBot 20:28, 23 October 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Orphaned non-free media (Image:Norton Healthcare Web Logo.gif)[edit]

Thanks for uploading Image:Norton Healthcare Web Logo.gif. The media description page currently specifies that it is non-free and may only be used on Wikipedia under a claim of fair use. However, it is currently orphaned, meaning that it is not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the media was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. You may add it back if you think that that will be useful. However, please note that media for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable for use on Wikipedia (see our policy for non-free media).

If you have uploaded other unlicensed media, please check whether they're used in any articles or not. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. Note that all non-free media not used in any articles will be deleted after seven days, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. Thank you. BJBot (talk) 05:59, 12 September 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Hi,
You appear to be eligible to vote in the current Arbitration Committee election. The Arbitration Committee is the panel of editors responsible for conducting the Wikipedia arbitration process. It has the authority to enact binding solutions for disputes between editors, primarily related to serious behavioural issues that the community has been unable to resolve. This includes the ability to impose site bans, topic bans, editing restrictions, and other measures needed to maintain our editing environment. The arbitration policy describes the Committee's roles and responsibilities in greater detail. If you wish to participate, you are welcome to review the candidates' statements and submit your choices on the voting page. Notice

The article Alex Beaton has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:

Singer who fails to meet WP:GNG. Any source I could find is either a passing mention, or a marketing web site.

While all constructive contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, pages may be deleted for any of several reasons.

You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{proposed deletion/dated}} notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the article's talk page.

Please consider improving the page to address the issues raised. Removing {{proposed deletion/dated}} will stop the proposed deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. In particular, the speedy deletion process can result in deletion without discussion, and articles for deletion allows discussion to reach consensus for deletion. Flibirigit (talk) 10:27, 10 May 2022 (UTC)[reply]

I respect your attempt to curate only meaningful content, but Mr. Beaton (who passed away yesterday) was the most celebrated Scottish folk singer in the United States. Please undelete the page. Thanks for your consideration! Kyhiking (talk) 10:58, 28 May 2022 (UTC)[reply]
Please see the section below discussing the draft article. A lot of work is needed before reconsideration can be given. Flibirigit (talk) 22:43, 26 August 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Alex Beaton moved to draftspace[edit]

An article you recently created, Alex Beaton, is not suitable as written to remain published. It needs more citations from reliable, independent sources. (?) Information that can't be referenced should be removed (verifiability is of central importance on Wikipedia). I've moved your draft to draftspace (with a prefix of "Draft:" before the article title) where you can incubate the article with minimal disruption. When you feel the article meets Wikipedia's general notability guideline and thus is ready for mainspace, please click on the "Submit your draft for review!" button at the top of the page.
