Edit reversions[edit]

You may notice that I've reverted a bunch of your edits you made recently. The shields used on the Michigan Highway System article were partially chosen to use the longest of each time, or to balance out the areas of the state represented. Your changes reflected only one section of the state. The edits to other articles' exit lists have been changed back so that they reflect the signage more accurately, as it was before you made the edits. If there is any specific edit in particular you'd like to discuss, please let me know on my talk page. Imzadi1979 (talk) 07:06, 11 July 2009 (UTC)[reply]

State-detail articles[edit]

Thank you for showing some initiative in starting these last articles for the Michigan Highways Project. A simple request from myself though, please keep expanding and working on them. Michigan is one of a few states in WP:USRD that doesn't have any stub articles at the present time. USRD will assess any article at Start Class if it has the beginnings of article organization and at least two of the "big three" sections in place and started. The big three are: route description, history and the junction/exit list. You may have noticed that I've jumped on the articles after you started them to get a junction list... well that's so that it would have a second section and it wouldn't be classified as a stub. Don't let my editing discourage you though, please keep at it. Obviously you have some GIS skills that I don't since you've added in missing mileposts on the US 2 article. Please feel free to spread that around to the other articles, and let's make them all better together. Imzadi1979 (talk) 00:27, 27 July 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Ocqueoc River[edit]

Thank you for your work on the Ocqueoc River article. I added the category Category:Presque Isle County, Michigan and a {{gnis}} reference, as well as {{WikiProject Michigan}} and {{WikiProject Rivers}} on the talk page. -- Eastmain (talk) 21:11, 28 July 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Mackinac Trail/Mackinaw Trail[edit]

Two quick points to make. State maintenance, and therefore the M-123 and M-134 designations, ends at the exit ramps on the respective I-75 interchanges. As such, M-123 doesn't continue east to H-63, and M-134 doesn't continue west to H-63. Second point is that the Mackinac Trail article is about a much longer roadway that ran in both peninsulas, to be replaced by US 131/US 31 and US 2. The edits you made to that article should have been used to create a separate article on H-63. I've started the H-63 article, but until the information is moved over and corrected, I won't revert the Mackinac Trail article yet. Your contributions are valued, but sometimes the information isn't exactly correct. I'm just trying to keep the articles in good shape without inaccuracies. Imzadi1979 (talk) 22:06, 14 August 2009 (UTC)[reply]

P.S. It's always a good idea to make sure that you're logged in when editing. I've noticed that half of your edits are logged on my watchlist as the IP address of your computer instead of your account. Imzadi1979 (talk) 22:07, 14 August 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Exit lists[edit]

I have a couple of issues with a few of your recent edits. Most of the additions are good, but we'll need to make a few changes.

  1. WP:USRD deprecated the usage of directional banner plates in junction lists/exit lists a few years ago. I removed them from the US 23 in MI article, but not the I-75 article.
  2. There is a new section to the Manual of Style on ALT text for images at WP:ALT. The basic gist is that we need to switch over to using {{jct}} as much as possible. Graphics that are manually inserted into junction lists need a |link= added inside the [[ ]] to turn off the link to the graphics' pages. There are other requirements for the photos added to the article, and the map in the infobox as well.
  3. The section of the MOS on bolding doesn't allow things like the colspan for the Zilwaukee Bridge to be in bold. That's why I redid it that way. There are many, many articles that still do this wrong.
  4. Graphic shields should never be used alone without the link to the appropriate article. Usually we don't use shield graphics in the Notes column anyways.

If you have any questions, please let me know. Keep up the good work adding in the mileposts and fleshing out the exit lists. That work is much appreciated! Imzadi1979 (talk) 19:10, 1 September 2009 (UTC)[reply]

On another note, if all the junctions of a highway are in a single county, we use the county parameter in the header template. Same thing goes if they are all in the same location. This omits those columns from the list, and puts a note to that effect above the table. This is to comply with WP:ELG. Imzadi1979 (talk) 02:26, 24 September 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Welcome. Based upon your recent edits, I take you've read and enjoyed 'my' article. Sorry, in wikiland no one is supposed to be proprietary. Please help out and edit away. If I can help, please let me know. Happy editing. 7&6=thirteen (talk) 21:07, 14 September 2009 (UTC) Stan[reply]

Ohio SR 215[edit]

Unless things have changed within the last year, there is no Ohio SR 215 on South Bass Island. The road in question is County Road 215. If you contend the road exists, you need to provide some cites to support your claim. Brian Powell (talk) 04:37, 27 September 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Hi. I've undone one of your edits a couple of times now to the Washington, DC page, because 1) it's not good practice to wikilink to redirect pages (which "District of Columbia" is) and 2) it's especially pointless when the redirect is back to the very page you're starting from. Please don't re-do that link - it'll just get undone again, if not by me than by someone else. Cheers! JohnInDC (talk) 14:02, 3 October 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Oh, I see that you removed the redirect from District of Columbia and restored the text. That has redirected to "Washington DC" for about 4 years now, and I've reverted it - if you have something ambitious in mind, please bring it up on one of the talk pages first, okay? A tag has been placed on BC Pizza requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section A7 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article appears to be about an organization or company, but it does not indicate how or why the subject is important or significant: that is, why an article about that subject should be included in an encyclopedia. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, such articles may be deleted at any time. Please see the guidelines for what is generally accepted as notable, as well as our subject-specific notability guideline for organizations and companies. You may also wish to consider using a Wizard to help you create articles - see the Article Wizard.

If you think that this notice was placed here in error, you may contest the deletion by adding {{hangon}} to the top of the page that has been nominated for deletion (just below the existing speedy deletion or "db" tag), coupled with adding a note on the talk page explaining your position, but be aware that once tagged for speedy deletion, if the page meets the criterion it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the page that would render it more in conformance with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. Lastly, please note that if the page does get deleted, you can contact one of these admins to request that they userfy the page or have a copy emailed to you. -- Alan Liefting (talk) - 21:35, 23 October 2009 (UTC)[reply]

File permission problem with File:Bcpizzalogo.jpg[edit]

File Copyright problem
File Copyright problem

Thanks for uploading File:Bcpizzalogo.jpg. I noticed that while you provided a valid copyright licensing tag, there is no proof that the creator of the file agreed to license it under the given license.

If you created this media entirely yourself but have previously published it elsewhere (especially online), please either

  • make a note permitting reuse under the CC-BY-SA or another acceptable free license (see this list) at the site of the original publication; or
  • Send an email from an address associated with the original publication to permissions-en@wikimedia.org, stating your ownership of the material and your intention to publish it under a free license. You can find a sample permission letter here.

If you did not create it entirely yourself, please ask the person who created the file to take one of the two steps listed above, or if the owner of the file has already given their permission to you via email, please forward that email to permissions-en@wikimedia.org.

If you believe the media meets the criteria at Wikipedia:Non-free content, use a tag such as {{non-free fair use in|article name}} or one of the other tags listed at Wikipedia:Image copyright tags#Fair use, and add a rationale justifying the file's use on the article or articles where it is included. See Wikipedia:Image copyright tags for the full list of copyright tags that you can use.

If you have uploaded other files, consider checking that you have provided evidence that their copyright owners have agreed to license their works under the tags you supplied, too. You can find a list of files you have uploaded by following this link. Files lacking evidence of permission may be deleted one week after they have been tagged, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. Chase me ladies, I'm the Cavalry (talk) 22:08, 23 October 2009 (UTC)[reply]

I have nominated BC Pizza, an article that you created, for deletion. I do not think that this article satisfies Wikipedia's criteria for inclusion, and have explained why at Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/BC Pizza. Your opinions on the matter are welcome at that same discussion page; also, you are welcome to edit the article to address these concerns. Thank you for your time.

Please contact me if you're unsure why you received this message. -- Alan Liefting (talk) - 22:15, 23 October 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Regarding your assessment[edit]

Please follow our guidelines. You can't just mark an article as A-class - it has to go through WP:USRD/ACR. A B-Class article is almost ready to be a GA and should be close to WP:WIAGA. It should also follow WP:USRD/STDS. If you keep doing this I will bring this issue to a larger forum. --Rschen7754 (T C) 21:39, 28 October 2009 (UTC)[reply]

File copyright problem with File:Michael Beasley draft night.jpg[edit]

File Copyright problem
File Copyright problem

Thank you for uploading File:Michael Beasley draft night.jpg. However, it currently is missing information on its copyright status. Wikipedia takes copyright very seriously. It may be deleted soon, unless we can determine the license and the source of the file. If you know this information, then you can add a copyright tag to the image description page.

If you have uploaded other files, consider checking that you have specified their license and tagged them, too. You can find a list of files you have uploaded by following this link.

If you have any questions, please feel free to ask them at the media copyright questions page. Thanks again for your cooperation.  Skier Dude  ►  08:04, 6 November 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Orphaned non-free image (File:Bcpizzalogo.jpg)[edit]

⚠

Thanks for uploading File:Bcpizzalogo.jpg. The image description page currently specifies that the image is non-free and may only be used on Wikipedia under a claim of fair use. However, the image is currently orphaned, meaning that it is not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the image was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. You may add it back if you think that that will be useful. However, please note that images for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable for use on Wikipedia (see our policy for non-free media).

If you have uploaded other unlicensed media, please check whether they're used in any articles or not. You can find a list of "file" pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "File" from the dropdown box. Note that any non-free images not used in any articles will be deleted after seven days, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. Thank you.  Skier Dude  ►  08:05, 6 November 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Please follow the standards at WP:USRD/A for assessing articles. Florida State Road 589 has no route description or history, so it should not be B class. It should not even be C class. TBH, it should be a Stub since it is poorly structured. --Rschen7754 (T C) 23:35, 17 November 2009 (UTC)[reply]

We appreciate your contributions, but the nominator doesn't believe that the article satisfies Wikipedia's criteria for inclusion and has explained why in his/her nomination (see also Wikipedia:Notability and "What Wikipedia is not").

Your opinions on whether the article meets inclusion criteria and what should be done with the article are welcome; please participate in the discussion(s) by adding your comments to Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Interstate 73 in Michigan. List of Florida Gators football seasons[edit]

LALaker13, this list and table is really, really nice work. The table has nice layout and subtle graphics, and is a pleasure to use. Would you consider making a few tweaks to make it comprehensive, and then reincorporating it into the major Florida Gators football article? If you would agree to do so, we could eliminate most, if not all, of the other multiple ticky-tack records tables that have been inserted into the major article over the last few years . . . . Please consider. Thanks. Dirtlawyer1 (talk) 21:40, 11 March 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Proposed deletion of Destin Bridge[edit]

The article Destin Bridge has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:

Does not meet WP:NOTE. The bridge's design, length, and age are all very average.

While all constructive contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, content or articles may be deleted for any of several reasons.

You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{proposed deletion/dated}} notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the article's talk page.

Please consider improving the article to address the issues raised. Removing {{proposed deletion/dated}} will stop the proposed deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. In particular, the speedy deletion process can result in deletion without discussion, and articles for deletion allows discussion to reach consensus for deletion.
